Lorelei/Biography

Early Life: Lorelei comes from a prestigious line of Verbena Gardeners who originated as volvas and other mystical seers in ancient Scandinavia. Eventually, a small splinter group traveled to the Americas with the Puritans. After weathering the Salem witch trials, they focused on removing themselves from society as much as possible by building a remote town where they could practice without worrying as much about societal trappings. With the passage of time, the town itself was abandoned but her family continued to maintain a remote commune in New Hampshire. The community was led by an especially powerful Master, Yrsa Brandt, from whom Lorelei is descended.

Lorelei was born on the eve of the Storm with several auspicious factors to her birth. She was born on the Spring Equinox as the seventh child of a seventh child, leading her family to believe she had an important destiny within the line if not the Verbena tradition in general. As the descendant of their leader, she was also raised to believe that she would one day inherit a position of important leadership.

For whatever reason, Lorelei abandoned the commune when she was fifteen. She hitchhiked all the way to California where a singular black sheep of the family resided: a skilled witch named "Auntie" Tilda Walker. Tilda is a master of Ars Cupidae and was at the time married to a mortal media mogul named Hugh Goldman. The couple took Lorelei in and embraced her as their own.

It was difficult to transition from a backwoods commune to a Beverly Hills high school, but Lorelei learned to use her new family's wealth and her own steeliness to make a place for herself in the affluent jungle. She didn't graduate with any real friends, but she earned enough clout and popularity to learn an important lesson in survival -- namely, confidence. She immediately latched onto the social media trend, realizing that real-world reality is often influenced by the digital one. Pictures, posts, videos can be used to cultivate any image, any belief, not to mention the ability to reach countless Sleepers while doing so.

Present Days: Lorelei "Lora" Brandt is now a popular contributor in the WitchTok community, a niche section of TikTok that revolves around magic and witchcraft. Known as Lora the Bad Witch with the username @toilandtrouble, Lorelei boasts over a million followers on her Insta and TikTok accounts and features content that ranges from healthy green living to divination forms like tea leaves, tarot cards, runes and bone throwing. She also offers a *bunch* of helpful advice on at-home remedies (and beauty products!) using locally grown herbs and plants. Most of this content is filmed at her small ranch where horses, gardens, and even a small orchard creates a tantalizing element of lifestyle porn that has driven more than one viewer to abandon corporate monotony to pursue 'simpler' pleasures.

Given her internet fame, it's not surprising that the blonde looker has recently dipped her toe into the Hollywood pond. Although she hasn't starred in anything even close to A-List, she did make a recent debut as 'Alice' in a small indie horror film by the same name. In the role, she plays a young woman who grows certain that the reality she is living in is actually manufactured by someone or something else.

But really, in a town full of Insta thots and wannabe actresses, her small claim to fame is likely to go unnoticed -- for now. In the meanwhile, she has a *lot* of money to tide her over. Hugh Goldman, her aunt's husband, died six months ago and left half of his estate to her.
