<p>Sebastian was born on October 13, 1985, in Sacramento, California.  His parents, both doctors, were quite wealthy.    He was afforded the best education and still graduated a couple of years early, in 2001 at sixteen.  He was intent on becoming a doctor like his parents, but during his Freshman year at UC Davis, he fell in love with the emerging field of biotechnology.

The Clan started paying attention while he was in High School, watching to see if his ambition was great enough for more direct service.  When he graduated from university in 2005, he was already prepared to start his own company:  Chrysalis Biotechnology.  The Ventrue were willing to bet on the young man, pulling the strings to get him the money he needed, and waiting to see what Sebastian could accomplish.  Sebastian did not disappoint.  Within the first five years, he was ready to move from Sacramento to Los Angeles to support the rapid expansion of his company.  From modest offerings in medical devices and gene therapies, Chrysalis Biotechnologies expanded its research into pharmaceuticals, biofuels, and solar technologies, and even big agriculture.%r%rOne of the Sacramento Ventrue, Christine Boulant, made a rather rash decision to embrace him before he left Sacramento, fearing his potential could be exploited by the Ivory Tower's enemies.  It would be a loss if Sebastian became a pawn of the Anarchs or, heaven forbid, wasted entirely in the Sabbat.

The embrace was far from ideal.  It nearly killed Sebastian, as something fought to reject the curse.  In the end, whatever it was wasn't enough to throw off the curse, although it did leave him unable to pass the curse on and left him with a vulnerability to silver.  His infertile vitae is an unknown, but his vulnerability to silver was quickly apparent.  His sire obsessed some over the experience, but since everything else seemed to be in working order, they turned to the task of setting him up in Los Angeles loyal to the Camarilla and able to assist in its reclamation.

Christine enlisted the aid of another established Ventrue, Sterling Barclay-Lockwood, to help mentor Bast.  She still has her duties in Sacramento, after all.  The pairing proved effective, and over the course of the decade, Bast managed to secure a firm power base within Fairfax.  The relationship he fostered with the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center led to the construction of the Chrysalis Biotechnology campus close enough to be considered two parts of a whole.

It was, with a bit of pride, that Christine and Sterling formally presented Sebastian in early 2020, and he was officially no longer a childe.  Shortly after, he ran across a nearly dead mercenary who had fled from Anarch territory.  Kalrien Sin saw his unit killed by Anarchs, so Sebastian saw an opportunity.  For the remainder of the year, Bast saw him healed of his injuries and has started molding him into a proper sword for the Clan.  Two of his domain's borders being with Anarch factions, it seems a good investment.
