Stories, dark and sweet...

I have been approved to run hunting scenes for vampires on Liberation.

My character, Hamelin, is really not to every PC's tastes, and the state of in-game politics is such that I cannot play with everybody that I might want to. This is one of my motivations to do this; to get to play with a diversity of players I might not get to, otherwise. So, regardless of sect, clan, coterie status, or personal feelings toward my character, I encourage you to reach out if you're interested in a hunting scene.

These are things that I will promise:

  • I will treat you with kindness. Whether we're playing together, or I'm running something for you, we are partners in writing. We are choosing to spend time, effort, and emotional energy doing something as personal as jointly writing a story. If you decide you'd like to share that with me, I am already grateful. If you decide to go that step further, and give me a chance to help you gain insight into your character by running a scene for you, I'm doubly grateful. I hope you will like the story and the outcome, but if not, my greater hope is that you feel I was fair and kind to you as my fellow writer.
  • I will try to make the scenes relevant. There is some necessary surrender of control when you have an ST run things for you, but I'm looking to work a scene into your character's narrative, not to work your character into a scene that I want to run. Their story matters immensely. Your interests matter immensely. My aim is to help you gain insight into your character by exploring, in more detail than can be done night-in, night-out on camera, their feeding tendencies and habits, and the emotional weight (or lack thereof) of what they do.
  • I will take the STing seriously. Feeding involves some risk. Usually a negative outcome is little more than a lost blood point and opportunity to feed, but sometimes it's much more. I will use the framework provided by Sundance, and try to adjudicate fairly and coherently, so that there is fairness across all players, and so that Sundance's vision for this is executed properly (and her faith in me is maintained).
  • I will respect your time. When we set a firm time, I will do my very best to be there. I will keep you updated if things change. When we are in the scene, you will be my primary focus. I will try to pose as quickly as I can, while maintaining good writing quality and consulting books, Sundance's guidance on feeding, or other materials needed.

Please reach out to me if you are interested, or if you have questions to help you decide if you are!
