While she explored all genres, those that called to her most were twofold: the slower, often dour melodrama of goth acts like The Sisters of Mercy or Bauhaus, and the heavier, harder, angrier metal acts such as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Given her love of music, it was inevitable that she would at least try to find an in into the industry. It was fortunate for her that she discovered one: her voice. Years later, and now she’s the frontwoman of her own band and a metal vocalist known for a voice that one critic opined sounds like “a demon crawling out from the pits of Hell.” She’s rather fond of that quote, even if the critic may not have meant it as glowingly as she - and her fans - take it.
