Biography
Alistair Harcourt doesn't talk much about his life before LA. He wasn't born in New York, but he will tell you that's where he's from. Aside from that, he'll speak of his time on Broadway. He's more enthusiastic about his time off Broadway, too. A theater man through and through with a voice that could have landed him on the marquees, he found the same old song and dance too dull and predictable to endure. On the East Coast, his productions were panned for just how utterly weird, non-sensical, or unnerving they could be. Critics accused him of pandering to the counter-culture, appropriation of the mentally and physically impaired, and reducing theater to the by-gone and shameful days of freakshows. But for every snob-nosed critic, there was a marginalized minority who saw him as an ally. And now he brings those same sentiments to California. Rumored to -- metaphorically, surely -- see beyond the material and glamour right into the soul of a person, Harcourt often only employs those of an unconventional nature. Be it deformities, addictions, maladies, ailments, mental illnesses, or just those who do not feel like they belong. They all find a place within the orbit of Alistair Harcourt. This brings him absolutely no fame or recognition from greater society. Quite the contrary, and it is exactly how he prefers it. To those who admire him, he is considered a misunderstood and troubled master of his craft. RP Hooks
Harcourt is a Malkavian, and he wears it about as well as one can. While he is not a rambling lunatic, he is still an unpredictable man. He is prone to the same derangements as any of his clan are. He has his quirks, his likes, and his dislikes. A charmer until he stops being charming. He also surrounds himself with the outcasts, misfits, and rejects of society because he truly identifies with them. Thus, there could be concepts touched upon that some people may find uncomfortable or offensive. When a character's livelihood and concept revolves around catering to the monstrosities and pariahs, and that character is themselves quite unstable, that is to be expected. But if there is ever a question of the player's intention, feel free to ask. My goal is to approach things with OOC respect while staying true to the World of Darkness theme.
