Summer

			Summer Hastings “Sometimes things fall apart so that better things can fall together.” ― Marilyn Monroe Overview Mortal Years: Summer was born in Los Angeles in the early 80's. Her father, David Love, was a famous Hollywood director who garnered an early cult following for his films' marriage of unflinching violence and offbeat humor (think Tarantino). In the late 90's, the nation was shocked when this well-liked and very public fixture of the Hollywood elite committed suicide. Nonetheless, Summer went on to graduate valedictorian at her Bel Air high school and later summa cum laude at UCLA. The next step was supposed to be law school, but that would be the end of her mortal life. Vampire History: For Kindred living in Los Angeles in the early 2000's, they might have heard a rumor or two. They say that Summer was being groomed for embrace by an influential Toreador in the city, but that a rival Malkavian got to her first. The resulting backlash and bad blood forced the Malkavian and his new ghoul, Summer, to leave the city -- but that might only be hearsay. Regardless, when she returned to Los Angeles in 2015, Summer belonged to clan Toreador. The exact details of her embrace are unclear, except that her sire, Genevieve Orseau, is one of the most famous Elder Roses still alive in modern nights and that Summer flourished within her care (Prestigious Sire). Within a year of returning to Los Angeles, Summer was one of the most connected Harpies in the city. She quickly endeared herself to the local Toreador Prince, Altamirana, and rose through the ranks of the city. Five years later, she was named Primogen, a title earned through wits and ambition to be sure, but also sheer popularity. And then tragedy struck. Prince Altamirana was blown up in a car bomb, leaving the city without leadership. A Brujah Sheriff was briefly installed as Prince, though her tenure lasted barely a month before she fell to torpor after a hasty battle against encroaching Anarchs (+bbread 11/2). During that time, Summer was made Seneschal. She quickly negotiated a peace treaty with the Anarchs in question (+bbread 11/6) and brought an end to ongoing tensions. Following the Arts District Attack (+bbread 11/7), Summer made her claim on the throne with the support of the Primogen Council. She has served as Prince since mid 2020 and is said to command overwhelming support over the city's Kindred. There hasn't been a more popular Prince in Los Angeles in decades. RP Hooks She is the Prince of Los Angeles and claims all of downtown as her Domain. In Kindred circles, she has the reputation of being a good middle-man and fixer for in-sect and out-of-sect disputes (Peacemaker Merit). Born and raised in LA, from 1982 to 2002. She returned in 2015, not a day older. She has the appearance of a consummate do-gooder (Sanctity Merit). Need help with something? With someone? Ask Summer. She enjoys all artistic mediums - visual? performance? avant-garde? - she's in. She has deep pockets and a willingness to invest in people, places, and ideas. Need a patroness?
