Roland
"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them." - Henry David Thoreau
Aging, early 40's power players are nearly as common in Los Angeles as that tropiest of tropes, the Nebraska 8 wanna-be starlet. Men playing power games (both real and imagined) are among the most common dysfunctional figures that any denizen of LA is likely to come across. Allard looks that part. He dresses that part. Most of the time, an exotic, fetching woman named Leila can be found on his arm, so at first blush, he acts that part.
Even brief conversation dispels those notions. Roland is not a silver-tongued charmer who leaves a trail of sighs and desire in his wake. Instead, a conversation with Allard generally leaves the impression that he is insightful, keenly observant, interested, self-aware, self-possessed, self-confident, and committed to understanding those around him. And when he is too direct, his ever-present partner, Leila, is there to act as the smooth, balming voice of diplomacy, etiquette, and taste.
