"If you have built castles in the air,
your work need not be lost;
that is where they should be.
Now put the foundations under them."
~ Henry David Thoreau

Background

Early 40's power players are nearly as common in Los Angeles as that tropiest of tropes, the Nebraska 8 wanna-be starlet. Roland Allard looks that part. He dresses that part. Most of the time, an exotic, fetching, dark-haired, dusky-skinned woman can be found on his arm, so at first blush, he acts that part.

Even brief conversation dispels those notions. Roland is not a silver-tongued charmer who leaves a trail of sighs and fluttering hearts in his wake. Instead, a conversation with Allard generally leaves the impression that he is insightful, keenly observant, interested, self-aware, self-possessed, self-confident, and committed to understanding those around him. And when he is too direct, his ever-present partner is there to act as the smooth, balming voice of diplomacy, etiquette, and taste.

RP Hooks

Music: Love to talk music.

Scotch: Liquor of all kinds, really, but this man loves to talk Scotch.

Philosophy: Another favored topic that he can chat about all day.

Soundtrack

Tito y Tarantula ~ After Dark
Watching her
Strolling in the night so white
Wondering why
It's only after dark
In her eyes
A distant fire light burns bright
Wondering why
It's only after dark
I find myself in her room
Feel the fever of my doom
Falling falling
Through the floor
I'm knocking on the devil's door, yeah
