The Army seemed like the perfect place to bury all that-structure, purpose, noise loud enough to drown out the static in his head. But deployment to the Middle East only sharpened what he tried to suppress, and one too many "coincidences" drew the attention of people who didn't believe in coincidences at all. Pulled into a classified psychic development program, Arryk was trained, shaped, and weaponized. Telepathy became a tool; instinct became doctrine. He served in a small, deniable unit until he made the mistake of wanting out. The military refused until a disastrous operation brought him face to face with Technocracy operatives cleaning up something reality was never meant to see. Arryk helped them bury it. In return, they buried his service record, freed him from the Army, and dropped him quietly into Los Angeles with a new life waiting. As an LAPD detective, Arryk rose fast, his psychic edge turning cases into open books. But freedom came with strings. The Technocracy still calls, and he still answers-editing evidence, redirecting investigations, feeding them intel from inside the department. He tells himself he's maintaining balance, protecting the world from things it isn't ready to understand. But the truth is messier: he's overconfident, impatient, compulsively curious, and prone to self-destructive appetites that make him easy to manipulate.
