Karner
Auteur filmmaker Karner Blue started to make a name for himself and his bizarre, chilling, and yet strangely sensuous works in the mid 00s. Despite -- or, perhaps, because of -- their eccentricity, his films began to reach wider audiences as their critical acclaim grew. The hype surrounding Karner Blue hit a high point with the release of one of his first features. (A)VOID, which was loosely inspired by Georges Perec's novel, became a cult hit overnight.
Its success brought him from the independent film scene to Hollywood. Over the last few years, Karner has inked bigger and bigger deals with traditional studios and streaming services alike. He has several major projects released or in the works at this time.
Karner has been renting a mansion up in the Hollywood Hills since 2019. But the town gossip mill has been grinding him up for even longer than that. To the public, Karner is a man of contradictions. He has a reputation for mood swings, outrageous ideas, and even more outrageous parties... But Karner is also known for disappearing into a depressive episode, barring his doors, and refusing to speak a single word for days, weeks, or even months at a time.
No one quite seems to get what makes Karner Blue tick. But with ticket sales and viewership like his, no one in Hollywood seems to care too much about that, either.
