Meeting Sorta Family

Participants: Gia Sarah (Retired) Deonte Marcus (NPC)

Location: The home of Deonte Marcus in Carthay Square (Central Los Angeles)

Date and Time: August 1st, 2021, afternoon

Summary: Sarah comes to get some advice or help from a fellow kinfolk only to find a green-haired Metis there also.

August 1st, 2021; Carthay Square in Central Los Angeles. The camera focuses on a small Spanish colonial home with a roof of curved red tiles and similarly colored red tiles on the front porch. An arched window on the right-hand side of the front of the house as its being looked at becomes the focus until the view zooms into the front room.

This is the home of LAPD Detective Deonte Marcus, or just "Marcus" to most of his friends and co-workers. The sole occupant of the room is his green haired guest Giada Nash who is playing a game on Marcus' PlayStation 4 while her host is not currently in frame.

Gia, caught up in the game, is yelling at the character for mistakes she's making due to the interface or her skill level with the game.

Sarah arrives at the home of Marcus. The girl rarely leaves the bawn and so this is a very unusual trip for her. Still she has her reasons, which well might be later learned. She is adorned in a blue smocked summer dress. Dark locks are pulled back with a white ribbon. Sarah knocks on the door of the Spanish Colonial home, seemingly impressed. She doesn't know many people with their own home! She knocks knocks.

Growling softly at the interruption, Gia pauses the game and hops up off the sofa and goes to the door. As she opens the door the young woman with a wild nimbus of green hair can be seen to be wearing Chewbacca house slippers, little athletic shorts and a white men's undershirt.

"Hey y'all," the North Carolinian says to Sarah though the open doorway. "Lookin' for Marcus," she asks also.

Sarah has a tautly swollen stomach and rather full breasts. The girl is most likely with child. In addition, she gives off this really strong pure breed vibe that most wolves can easily pick up on. It is so strong that many could guess her tribe. She looks over Gia, studying her green hair and then her slippers. She gives her sheepish smile a moment later, nodding in response. "I came to see him about my kitchen. I am Sarah." She says in her direction. Sarah looks to be a mix of Hispanic and Native American, maybe more Native American though.

"Come in," Gia says as if she has the right to invite others into the house she's staying in. "I'ma-sumin' that you don't mean home renovations. Marcus is sleepin' had a late stakeout," she continues as she walks back into the front room expecting to be followed into it.

Sarah kicks off her shows at the door and then follows Gia further into the home. "You live here? It is very wonderful." She says softly. "Are you Marcus' family?" She asks, maybe not knowing if Gia is kin, a wolf or even neither. That is possible as well.

"Family. Sorta. He served with my pa in Afghanistan and they consider each other brothers like only Marines who've served together can. He's putting me up cause I'm new to LA," the green haired woman says. Then, without looking at the other woman drops a quick question which itself might answer some of the unspoken questions, "Duty supported child or out of the bloodline cub in the oven?"

Sarah looks down at her tummy and then lifts her gaze to Gia. "Duty pregnancy." She admits. She continues further inside, padding along on her bare feet. She might not still be positive of Gia's family status and so she doesn't say too much else. "I fully went into this wanting, but it is not a love match between us, if that makes sense?" She adds, seeing if she gets the hints.

Gia nods. "It does," she says in a way that says it's not something she has personal experience with - or any expectation to ever experience it. "I'm Giada Nash, call me Gia. Some time, in another place, I'll tell you my rited name also. Not your tribe but you're still kin. Good to keep pure lines growing." She pauses for a moment and turns to look at Sarah and then asks, "That kitchen problem, not one this young half-moon can help with I assume... unless you just want to talk? Or... we could wake Marcus."

Sarah looks over to Gia, studying her once again. She seems removed when the introduction is given. "Gia.." She echoes softly. "You have a pretty name. It sounds Italian or something?" She asks softly. "Oh, it is and like I said, I fully choose this and the father is good to me. Addison of the Uktena. I am not sure if you met him yet?" She asks softly.

Shaking her head, Gia says, "Cain't say if I have or not, ain't heard a name fer everyone I've interacted with... most but not everyone. What's the daddy look like?" Then, almost as an afterthought, she adds, "Yeah. Means Jade. Also my ma likes Food Network."

Sarah looks to Gia, giving her a sheepish smile. "I like such too, but don't really watch it much anymore. The streaming in the tunnels is not super great. But well, I am a cook myself. I mean, I have been cooking less lately in a way, less for the sept more for the people. I am not in the best standing ever in the sept." She says but sounds pretty chill about such for whatever reason.

"Growin' up at th'caern I did a lot of help w'the cookin' myself," Gia drawls giving a little bit of personal information that can easily announce her Breed if Sarah's paying attention. "What's yer problem at the Sept?" she asks in such a way as to not be too personally invasive.

<OOC> Gia says, "By now, if you didn't catch on on your own, Sarah'll have noticed the eyebrows are green also. :)"

<OOC> Sarah sooos!

Sarah ohhs softly as she looks to Gia. "I used to cook up a storm around here, but even cooking has politics involved." She says a bit sheepishly. She then hmms softly at the talk of her standing in the Sept and Sarah looks really chill, a little confused and she gives her a dimpled smile. "I don't know.." She murmurs. "I mean... I sure there are lots of reasons that are over my head." She adds and tries to find a place to sit down. "So um... what is your well tribe and all that your eyebrows. They are green too?"

Sarah adds a bit belatedly and sheepish. "I am Sarah Sorrel, Uktena kinfolk."

"Naw, just one of the ... blessings brought on by the nature of my conception is all, Sarah," Gia says before smirking and saying, "I knew the latter bit," in a way that out of context would likely be real creepy. Continuing the first answer she says, "Come closer and I'll show you something else which'll help it more clear."

Once Sarah comes closer to her, Gia lifts up the hair on the left side of her face making it possible to more clearly see the nub-like horns at her temple and near her hairline at her forehead. "I'm symmetrical which isn't always true of Metis," she says softly as she lets her hair drop back down into its natural place.

Sarah draws closer to Gia and then she tries to touch gently at her horns if she is allowed. "Oh, wow..." She murmurs softly, seemingly amazed. "Um, they are pretty and so is your hair." She says softly in her direction.

Laughing softly, Gia says, "Thanks. I really caught a break when I changed. My war form is... quite disturbing to those who aren't expecting to see it."

The Bechdel test passing interaction ends as Marcus steps out of his room to see that his house guest is not alone. Seeing who it is he asks, "Have you two met?"

Gia nods and says, "Sure have n'she needed t'talk t'ya, Marcus. So, I'll go work on dinner for th'three of us. Somethin' with collard greens cause they're good for growing babes," as she heads into the kitchen to let the two kinfolk discuss the issue that Sarah came to discuss.
