Tamara
Tamara was born to Diana "Ghost Singer" Marek of the Black Furies and her kinfolk mate Jacob Chase. She grew up in San Francisco where her mother was chief apprentice to the elderly Master of the Rite and often acted as the older woman's proxy. Diana's family came to the USA from Poland in the 30s, fleeing the destruction that the Spirits saw coming. She grew up around the Sept of the Western Eye, embedded in the culture and knowledge of Gaia's chosen until losing both parents to an attack on the heart of the city. After this she and her younger brother were fostered by the Sept; a couple of years later he hit puberty and underwent his first change, perhaps brought on early by the trauma of that night, and was adopted by the Children of Gaia.
Tamara herself never experienced the change but she still made herself useful to the Sept. When Imani arrived for her training the two became fast friends - although there wasn't much of an age gap between them, the younger wolf's temper didn't scare Tamara and she was just as likely to shrug and remind Imani that the Litany requires elders to be respected.
Growing up and increasingly drawn to the Theurges her mother had spent so much time with, Tamara discovered she had a natural talent for brewing and herbs. She learned all she could and studied medicine further at college. Eventually something shifted - either her devotion to her craft or something of her mother's blood, perhaps a blessing of Circe. Whatever the cause, she found her brews were more potent and the glimmer of magic laced through her aura.
When her friend was sent to Los Angeles in hopes she would learn to control that bubbling rage within her, Tamara chose to go too.
