Director-writer Karner Blue officially arrived in town from New York City a year or two ago to great professional fanfare. In the mid-aughts until fairly recently, he became famous for a series of bizarre, chilling, and yet strangely sensuous films which soon found critical acclaim. His 'first' new feature, (A)VOID (loosely based on the French novel by Georges Perec), became a cult hit overnight.
Over the years, Karner inked non-exclusive deals with traditional studios and streaming services and has gone full Hollywood, with several major projects released or in the works (more to come on his wiki, eventually). He's rented a mansion up in the Hollywood Hills since 2019.
To the public, Karner is a man of contradictions. He has a reputation for mood swings, outrageous ideas, and even more outrageous parties... But Karner is also known for disappearing into a depressive episode, barring his doors, and refusing to speak a single word for days, weeks, or even months at a time. No one quite seems to get what makes Karner Blue tick. But with ticket sales and viewership like his, no one much seems to care about that, either.
