Note: Since the question will be asked, Mariner Gangrel are regular Gangrel who spend most of their time in the water. If you’re playing a Gangrel with shark and seagull alt-modes who spends most of their time down by the docks, you’re a Mariner.

Hive-Minded (1 or 2 pt. Mental merit) – Your Animalism works on insects and other invertebrate vermin. At 2 points, you may turn into swarms of insects in lieu of animals.

Skald (2 pt. Mental merit) – You are one of the Gangrel’s loremasters, an expert on the history of the Kindred.

Lesser Mark of the Beast (4 pt. Supernatural Merit, humanity Only) – You have a measure of control over your Clan flaw.

Totemic Change (5 pt. Supernatural merit) – Instead of being locked into the forms of specific animals, you may choose a different beast each time you use Protean.

Member of the Pack (2 pt. Supernatural flaw) – Your use of Animalism to commune with and command animals is restricted to a specific kind of creature, such as ravens, house cats, etc.

Rat in a Cage (2 pt. Mental flaw) – When you are restrained or imprisoned, you turn into a desperate animal.

King of the Beasts (Fortitude OO, Animalism OOOO) – Extend a measure of your Fortitude to animals you command. (18 XP)

See the Reflected Form (Auspex OO, Protean OOOO) – Discern the true nature of shape-shifting or otherwise hidden-natured beings. (18 XP)

Shatterproof (Protean OOO, Fortitude OOOO) – Gain additional ability to resist injury. (21 XP)

Spirit Tracking (Protean OO, Animalism OO) – Become a superior tracker of Kindred prey. (12 XP)

Animal Forms and the Gangrel

In lieu of Wolf and Bat forms when taking Shape of the Beast, a Gangrel player may choose a “Flight” and a “Fight” form all their own. Once chosen, these forms are static and cannot be changed unless the Gangrel has the Totemic Change merit. See Lore of the Clans pg. 91 for more information. All other Kindred who learn Shape of the Beast gain Wolf and Bat as their animal forms, except Tlacique Setites, who turn into a Jaguar and a Bat.
