The Warehouse: Underground Briefing

Participants: Sandy David Tao

Storyteller: David

Location: Access Tunnel

Date and Time: May 19, 2020 7:00am

Summary: Information Dump

David gets a morning start, as the sun's up. Getting to the tunnel from the back, the bird is perched on a bike rack as Sandy arrives. "Good morning. So I've already spoken with the Wu crew, but this is an annoying enough problem I'm talking to everyone."

As she makes her way into the access tunnel from the deeper parts of the bawn, Sandy is wearing a pair of cargo pants and a tanktop that reveals her arms. When she is at 'home', she doesn't wear her baggy hoodie that hides the deep scars that travel up both arms and the one that peeks out from the top of her shirt from her chest. As she spies the bird, she gives him a quick smile. "Thank you for meeting me this early." She pulls up a chair and slides in to it, straddling it as her arms rest on the back of it. "What's the sitch?"

David flaps. "Of course. So here's what I know for sure. 9764 Jeopardy Lane, in the Fashion District. Bundy Dry Cleaning Supply. Abandoned building. Business has gone defunct with the state of California. Bundy retired and left the state. Wu is buying the building. Knowing them, they'll be signing the papers today."

"Banes. Unknown quantity and type. Might be the possessive type, which is why it's good to keep civilians out for now. Including the EPA. I'm going to run interference to make sure government stays out of it, while Gaia's troops move in. I briefed Wu yesterday, you guys now, and I'm going to fly out to the water this afternoon. You guys have a lot to do just clearing the banes and cleaning up that stinking mess. I'm going to get some help tracking down exactly who bought the business when Bundy retired. They might be just as bad, or worse."

As she takes her phone out, Sandy starts to tap in the notes in bulletpoints. "I spoke with Dallas earlier, the Rat King. He promised me he and his boys will partner up with you and help track down who did this. Not sure if you got with him yet, but he's eager to get things running. Shit like this isn't good for his people either. Lots of rats in warehouses could get sick too, and I do love a mission of unity." She thinks for a long moment. "We were hoping to get the oil cleaned first, so that the banes would be weakened." She drums her fingers a few times. "Possessive types. You're really sure about that?"

David flaws and croaks. "I apologize. I do not know for sure what type they are. They could be possessive. So I erred on the side of caution and warned Bunny Wu not to send any civilian cleaning crews into the building until the banes are gone. Just in case. I worry."

"I have spoken with one of Dallas's rats about this. I'm hoping to meet with them today and give them the info dump, along with the other ravens. The Glass Walkers speculated that Pentex bought the business, and we're going to run that down. If it is Pentex, Dallas and his team will have work to do."

Nodding her head as she taps along the screen, Sandy finishes up the last of the high level notes in abbreviations. She lets out a low sigh in her throat of frustration. "Well, that switches up the gameplan a bit, but not by much. I'll get my proto-pack gathered and we'll do a sweep of the Umbra then to put eyes on it. Flynn will know exactly what type they are. If we see an opening to take a few out, we may, but we really want a recon mission to start just to be safe. Figure out what they are, create a gameplan of how many bodies to throw at it, then go from there."

As she sways back and forth in her chair she straddles, she glances upwards at the ceiling. "Glad to hear you got in touch with Dallas's team. If you want me to meet with the two of you, feel free to ping me. I can show up, got the day free. May as well get all of us big brains together and talk out the layers of steps we need to resolve this."

David flaps again. Perched at a rack near the entrance to the tunnell, as Sandy takes notes in a chair. "I can do that. I can bring you all together. If you need it. I'm going to fly out to San Pedro today. I'll see what they need. Also let me know when you're going to make a move on the building itself. I'll do what I can to make sure I, or another raven, can be there with you."

"The company that bought out Bundy is just speculation. The oil spill and the banes in the Fashion district I've seen first hand, and are a definite threat."

"No problem, I'd feel a lot more comfortable with one of you on deck to watch over us. I can link us up." Sandy taps the side of her head. "I know the telepathy gift so we can be in comms in case you see something go down, I can alert the pack. " Sandy says as she gives a long stretch of her body. Today she is not wearing her hoodie, thus the deep scars on her arms are clearly seen with the tanktop that she wears. They are deep gnarls of skin that wrap around her and most likely go deeper along her body.

"Any chance you can describe what they look like, or do a quick sketch for us?" She pauses, then says. "Or, I can go into your head and you can show me what they look like. I can pass it on to Flynn." She says as her brows lift upwards. "That may help us prepare a bit better."

Skid Row again, in so many days. This is becoming a bit of a bad habbit. The Boli Zouhisze is dressed business /casual/ today, his blazer missing, and the top button of his expensive tailored suit undone. Expensive hard soled shoes tap-crunch the ground perhaps signaling Tao's approach towards the tunnel to the Bawn. His own attention is on a sleek phone, thumb tapping on it's screen. Business is never done it seems - but today the Philodox is on a mission, one important enough to 'slum it' again.

David notices Tao of course, and croaks out a greeting his way, raising a wing. Then flapping back at Sandy. "How do I put this. You know how you guys have your Litany? With all your most important rules. Well, Raven gave us laws too. And one of those is Remember Why You're Here. I can't do my job if I get in a fight. So I flew away. Better to warn everyone there are banes, in general, than to die trying to find out which kind they are."

"So if I peek into your head, would you be able to give me some type of visual image for me to see?" Sandy asks, then gives a glance over her shoulder towards the finely dressed man. Her eyes give him a slow up and down, as if she was calculating the cost of his clothing. His shoes probably cost more than her entire closet. "Anything is better than nothing." Pushing herself out of the chair, she slides it back into place, then hooks her thumbs into the beltloops of her cargo pants as she offers up a warm smile to Tao. "Daylight greetings. How are you today?"

Attention is lifted from the device in Tao's hand at David's croak - the presence of both he and Sandy bringing a... smile? To the Glasswalker's expression. Well, more of a smirk. He's a reputation to keep after all.

The man's steps become more directed now, towards the pair as he slips his phone into a pocket.

"Greetings." Tao offers with a nod of his head once close enough, his own gaze evaluating Sandy's scars for a beat before his attention turns to both of them. "Fortune is with me today, it seems. I didn't have to look too far for you, Sandy. " A beat. "Greetings again." Is offered towards the Corax with that same smile. The Dox is in a good mood today, it seems.

David flaps. "Good morning," he bobs to Tao, before looking at Sandy. "If you have a way of trying to get into my head, and try to get more out of my memory, and what I saw, I'm happy to let you try."

"You are looking for me?" Sandy asks as her brows lift upwards just a tick curiously. That warm smile on hers has a bit of a flicker. Her body straightens up more, looking a bit cautious. She gives a glance to David and nods her head. "I can, yes. Mind speaking is a visual telepathy. You show me what you want to show me and it forms like a physical image between our minds. It's useful when you need to pass information quietly."

Hands slip into Tao's pockets at the pair speak, not wanting to interrupt the moment too much further. Instead, he stands there quietly, offering Sandy a slow nod at her words directed towards him. "I have several things to discuss, and perhaps some information to share." The man notes before quieting down, waiting. Patiently.

David looks at Sandy. And as she starts the mind speech, he tries to engage with her. He runs through his head flying by the building. Looking into his Mirrorshades that he keeps with him in bird form, easily slipping into the umbra. Turning twoard the building.

And there it is. Banes. It's a blur. He looks at the banes just long enough to see that they're there. Unfortunately Sandy has no training in *recognizing* banes, so she just sees that yes, there are spirits there, and they're ugly.

As she commands the world of the mindscape, Sandy 'slows' down David's flight path as she watches through his eyes. As a Galliard, she is one to take in every detail, no matter how painfully small it is. She rewinds it, fast forwards it, then rewinds again as she focuses on the Banes, trying to get a good enough description to describe them later.

Once she pulls back out, giving a few blinks of her eyes, she slips her phone out of her pocket once more and launches a drawing app. She starts to use her finger to quickly sketch out the image in her mind, humming to herself. "Hmm. I don't recognize any of them off the top of my head. We were thinking they could be wakshaani's, but if they are the possessive type they may be a new breed. I'll make sure to get this to Flynn." She says as she does her best with the scribble that she has. It's not much, but it's a start.

"So, what's up, Tao?" She asks as she turns her attention towards him with a smile.

Tao watches, curiously, as the pair have the invisible exchange, and Sandy begins to draw. Hands slide into his pockets casually, the man's expression curious. For now, he's quiet.

"Actually, I think the topic may be related. Wu Sun Pacific is about to attempt a purcgase." Tao begins, before taking his phone from his pocket once more - scrolling with his thumb. "A Warehouse. Perhaps the same warehouse." Eyes flick towards David - then to Sandy once more. "I'm putting together a team, but I don't have the sufficent numbers to address this issue with my people alone, not quickly. We may need to... collabrate."

David trills and bobs at each. "Yeah this is the same warehouse. This is nasty enough I'm bringing every one in. Unless either of you have more questions, I'm going to get some food, see what other Corax are around, and bring whoever I can out to San Pedro."

"You're like a week behind." Sandy says to Tao with an amused grin on her face. "I've already put together a team to investigate and I've already made moves to resolve." She says with a nod of her head towards David. "I've coordinated with Dallas, the Rat King and he is having his men look to track down whoever is behind the oil spill. Now that we know Bundy used to own the warehouse and it was sold off, we can probably do a paper trail from there. If it's Pentex related, they are most likely using a shell company."

The Talesinger folds her arms over her chest. "I've recruited Snake, Nate and Flynn to do the Umbral scouting mission along with either David or one of his flock to ensure we have eyes on us." Rocking on her feet, she gives a few sways of her arms. "And I've updated the Alpha with my plan of action and he signed off on it. If you want in, I got a spot open."
