Emma, the on-duty kinfolk working in the kitchen hears that a mini Parliament is happening, and so decides to get cute. Bring the Funk is playing as David lands on one of the chairs set up here in the patio area.
When the other Corax arrive, he croaks, and justs starts clicking, croaking, and trilling in the Corax language. "Welcome. I've called us all here because there's serious stuff going on. Three different threads. And they all need our help." As he shifts in his perch, the uPhone hanging on his foot like a tag glints in the morning sun, and the little Mirrorshades clipped discreetly to one wing do as well.
A shiny, skinny thing even for the normal less-than-beefy corax, a slinky blue-black feathered thing with shiny feathers is soon enough to alight on the back of another chair. Her own uPhone nestles between the feathers at her neck, not so much glinting as laying their dully. Her own high-pitched voice croaks out, still unable to stop shuffling from foot to foot and hopping, even in crow form,"Is this about the balefire banes?"
Lenore is currently sitting with her legs in a criss-cross atop of one of the tables while reading a book. She is quickly putting a ribbon in the book and closing it before she looks from David to Candy. "The what now?" She looks mildly worried but curious and intrigued at the same time.
David looks over to Lenore. Still clicking and trilling. "Come on, join us, we're getting started. Bring the funk, and the feathers." Referencing the song playing inside in the kitchen.
"Balefire banes? Are those the ones on the freeway? I haven't heard about those since I initially saw the disturbance and warned the Garou Sept about it. Candy can you give us an update?"
"We've got the funk..." The little feathery bird Candy is in the shape of at the moment is bouncing now to the song, even if her birdy throat makes a mangled mess of it. She's not a good singer at the best of times. "Nevermore!" This is in reference to Lenore. She just can't help herself. Still, she takes a moment preening her feathers before speaking up.
"There's pollution banes and balefire banes over at the freeway, yeah. A Galliard I'm good friends with, one of Unicorn's children, investigated it as a part of two groups... Apparently the spiritual taint was so thick, it took her days to get rid of it." She cleans one of her tail-feathers carefully, then ruffles her wings out, and goes back to her bouncing,"They're at a loss as to what's causing them to spawn. My only suggestion was to look at older, recent pictures of the area, and compare them to new ones to see what changed. For all we know, though, Endron just put a nuclear silo underground, so it's not too helpful right now. Maybe dig around, see if any road repairs were carried out that gave a chance to bury things. All we've got is speculation, but she's asked me to do a flyover, see if we can find anything out. I'm planning on poking my boss at Helios to see if we sold anything useful recently that might relate to the problem. That cloud over at the freeway, it's not going anywhere, and it's... it's bad. I wish I had something more concrete, but we got an official ask to poke around, anyway."
Lenore smiles as she reaches over to grab the boombox and brings it out as she walks over to join David and Candy. She sits down, turning the music down just enough to still be heard but not having to talk over it too loudly that the words get lost in the beat. She laughs softly at Candy, "Yes? It is close to my last name." She lightly pets on Candy's feathers if allowed. Her attention focuses on the words though as they are spoken. She ponders a bit before she offers, "I could try and do my researching. Or we could ask some of the spirits nearby if they know things. I am a beacon for them."
David looks at Lenore. "You should change forms with us. Parliaments are traditionally all as ravens, and even though this is just a small grouping, I think it would feel good for all of us to come together, wing to wing."
Then taking in ntently everything said about business. "Wow. I saw that when I was flying out over the ocean in the Umbra. Which is really fun as long as you stay high and away from the water and the coast. Looked bad. The one thing that caught my eye was that dome... I think it was a mosque or something. Check if anything was built around that."
"If you can help that'd be great. Also, one of us should join Bunny and Tao when their team goes to the Warehouse on Jeopardy Lane. And one of us should join the Rats and the Bear when they dig in on Penn and Family. If I may, I suggest Lenore work with Tao, and Candy work with Dallas."
Lenore oohs softly, offering a nod before she shifts into her raven form. She stretches out her wings a bit before she settles in. She offers a few nods of her head before she responds, "I can at least chat with some of the spirits, see if I can gather anythign. Or maybe some eyeballs... Has anyone recently died in that area? Could help maybe?" She just likes learning secrets a little too much.
The girl actually preens a little at being petted... then immediately moves to clean and oil the feathers in question because, well, compulsion. "So like, a minaret, then? Okay. I can do that. Any advice? I'm still basically just a chick myself, not used to deep-dug ops yet. Mostly gossip." She ruffles her feathers, then asks David,"Can I get David's cell number when we get done here?" She croaks loudly, then asks,"I could really go for some garlic bread. They got any?" Then she turns, to help Lenore groom her feathers, because, well... she never can sit still. "You got a little..."
David flaps and consiiders Lenore. "Wonderful. And just identifying spirits would be a huge help to the Glass Walkers. They're going to fight banes, and they need someone who can help see which kind they are, before they rush in to fight."
David then gives his number immediately, and lowers his head to tap at the uPhone he's wearing. "Goes to this. Very handy." He then briefly invokes a gift to imitate his human form "We have any garlic bread?" he calls into the kitchen. Emma comes out with the next best thing, some cinnamon bread she sets out on the table. David hops over to peck a piece, and then croaks. "It's alright. I'm here to support both of you. I'd like you both to get experience. We need as many of us as possible to be able to spy on everything. You both need to know Dallas, and Tao, and Liam, and the people who work under them. Meet Elle and any other Gaians around."
Lenore easily lets Candy groom her feathers, "Thanks. I appreciate the help. And I think there is some garlic bread in the fridge. I got it with some spaghetti and meat sauce for lunch this morning." She looks to David, "I can meet with Dallas and Tao soon I am sure. And Liam. And others. I have just been doing a lot of slow fly overs when I am not here reading. Do we know where the others hang out?"
Candy squawks with joy as she hops over to the cinnamon bread in question, pecking at it happily. The girl can eat, if the way she wolfs, or rather 'birds' her food down. Candy takes the number, pecking her own uPhone to tap in the contact's list. "I really do love them. Being able to text in the umbra is... I would happily kiss whoever invented them." She then goes back to cleaning Lenore's feathers, because... well... Because. "I'm already making friends. I'll see if I can parlay that into stronger relations among some of the others. The cogs are easy to get to know. The others... not always so much."
David looks does pull off a few more pieces himself, lifting his beak up high to gobble down each piece he takes. Letting them bond while he eats. "That's great. I'm here to help, support, and back up you two. But it's not healthy if I just swoop in and do everything. Honestly, it's up to us to take the lead on this. I'll support us and we'll help everyone get this done. Let's get in touch with Tao and Dallas and set a time to do scouting missions. Oh, whoever talks to Dallas should also talk to Billie of the Glass Walkers about it."
"Any questions? Anything I Can do for anyone?"
Lenore takes out her uPhone as well, "They really are super handy." She then stands still, happily accepting the cleaning. "You might just need to find a common ground. I like to watch them quietly before I attempt an approach." She then begins to clean Candy's feathers in turn. She pauses to mention, "I could help you with looking into that freeway stuff if you like. I like working in a group."
The crow lifts her face up and caws happily at the enhanced grooming, apparently thoroughly pleased with how things have gone. "Not unless you know any particularly... expensive secrets, nah. Once I meet this Dallas guy, I'll broach Billie as well. Still geting my claws under me, and I haven't even put any furniture in my house since I bought it." She nods at Lenore, though, in response,"More birds is always a better number."
