Summary: Marigold gets her wished for chimerical kitten... With complications.
Marigold did, just as promised, remain in the freehold. Eschewing the big crowds at the tournament due to sleepiness, she wound up spending the night in one of the empty houses, only to emerge the next day, wander around a little, socialize with a couple of Changelings and basically explore. Fortunately, she's managed to curtail her curiosity to only exploring areas she is actually allowed to go. For now. But she's kept her word and not set so much as a toetip outside, which is why she is still present the next day in the same clothing she wore the first time, with the addition of a necklace strung with tiny, exceedingly glittery dragon scales. No Rede, though he's surely around somewhere. The door gets opened, and she actually has to look down, which she may no longer be used to, blinking at the tiny version of the Baroness before smiling. "Oh. Hello! She did say there was someone who looked like her but smaller." She opens the door a bit more. "I'm doing just fine. Very comfortable little house here. I'm Marigold, but I suppose you knew that. Are you her sister?"
"No, her doppelganger," the petite woman jokes as she steps through the door into the home. "...Her cousin, really. The fact we look so alike is largely a complete accident." She is grinning a little, scanning the house over before turning to once again fully face Marigold. "So, I was told to ask you a fiew questions about your wish before I bring you la Baronesa's gift," the diminutive Sidhe continues seriously, those incredibly bright green eyes seeking out Marigold's. "Are you familiar with the creatures of the Dreaming?"
Closing the door, the girl looks briefly flummoxed, glancing around a place that isn't hers. Harder to offer what she considers proper hospitality when it isn't your place. Granted, her ideas about such may come from her very small town upbringing, and nothing at all like how the fae would view it. Still, she moves to where she's left a bag of fruit-flavoured, handmade candy, each individually wrapped, and turns back, holding it out. "Candy?" she asks. Then laughs at the explination. "Thank you for clarifying. I know so little that I would have believed you." There is a pause, and then she seems to think. "Not very much. They exist, I know that. I seem to have attracted a tiny horde of what looks to me like sugarplum fairies flitting about my shop. I also rode those winged lions, over at the freehold inside the water globe. I don't know much about them. This is all a bit new to me, you see. I wasn't raised by the woman who bore me... and I /was/ raised in a very, very small town. I didn't find out what I was until a couple of months ago, and didn't see a Changeling until last month."
"Well," Ana replies slowly. "That could complicate things." The girl takes the piece of candy and carefully unwraps it with her fingers, still studying Merigold as she does so. "You will want to be very careful with this one," the girl continues, shifting a little bit as she does. "Though I guess the best way to learn is from experience. You are familia with raising kittens at least. Si?" Ana makes her way toward the door again slowly. When she opens it it turns out she's brought a little cage that she deigned to leave outside for the first moment. Inside that cage is a tiny black ball of fur with blue eyes. Yes, a kitten. A very normal looking kitten, at least at this angle.

"I used to volunteer at the animal shelter," Mari explains. "Mom...the one who raised me... was allergic, so I could never keep any of them. I always so wanted my very own, but at least I did get to help raise them and..."
Her eyes go wide as the tiny ball of black floof is revealed, and then she just sort of... melts. "Oh, my /god/. Lookit!" Beaming, she steps forward, face all aglow. In a figurative sense, anyway. "Hello, there, little one. Aren't you the cutest thing?"
Ana opens up the cage ann fsmiles in an entirely disarming way. It's effortless how easily she could win a room. And yet, she undone by a kitten. The little ball of fluff sneezes and sort of rolls out of the cage before catching herself with tiny paws. Blue eyes stare up at Marigold for a moment curiously. Then she spreads two long, fuzzy bat-like wings and flies upward, right toward the Kinain's face.
Ana eats her candy quietly while she watches.
Marigold was just crouching down to extend a hand towards the kitten when /that/ happened. She is no Sidhe, herself, but she is kin to the Swan Maidens. Known for their grace and their ethereal beauty... the girl could charm at least half a room, herself, and is also just wholly wrapped around the little thing's paw. Even when it suddenly makes an aerial launch for her face. She falls over backwards onto her butt, lifting her hands to try to catch her.
"Whoa there! Oh, wow. You fly?" She looks up and over at Ana. "It /flies/!" She seems more wonderstruck than concerned about this.
The kitten hisses loudly when Marigold makes her exclamation, wailing a little as the Fae, so much larger than Sidhe, tumbles backward with a loud thump. She follows her to the ground, lands on the kinain's face, and... Bites her nose. Hard. Those little teeth are incredibly sharp!
Ana nods at Marigold's assertion and then winces, a little bit, when the kitten latches on, still yowling her displeasure.
There is a distinct wince from the kinain as she winds up with a kitten on her face. A hissing, toothy kitten. "Ouch!" She reaches up very, very slowly, and tries to pet at it. "Hey, there, little thing. No biting, mmkay? You have sharp little teeth and that hurts." From her tone, she seems utterly convinced that the little beastie didn't mean to do anything to hurt her. After all, it is meant to love her. "It's okay. It's okay, now, I'm sorry I startled you. But no biting, okay?"
There is blood. Just a little bit, as those fangs are tiny. However, the kitten whirls when a finger comes up to pet her and bites that finger as well. Ow! That stings like a papercut. And... More blood. Again, tiny pinpricks. The kitten hisses then - and proceeds to curl up on top of Marigold's face, lapping at the new holes in the kinain's nose.
Marigold winces as she gets more little holes in her skin. She also goes really, really still after that as the new... friend... curls up on her face. And starts to, for all intents and purposes, drink up some of her blood. "Ummm," she murmurs. She keeps still but turns her eyes towards where Ana sits. "...is this normal?" she asks, sounding a little bit uncertain. "I mean. It's not attacking because it hates me, right?"
"No, of course not," Ana replies. "She thinks you are very tasty." Ana tilts her head as if to get a better angle on the situation. "If she were really attacking she would use her claws." Ana's tone suggests that one definitely doesn't want that.
The kitten continues to like Marigold's nose. it tickles actually, now that the pain is over with.
"Now, the kittens do get quite large," Ana continues. "So do be careful of that... Um. I'm glad you like her?"
Marigold laughs a little as it starts to tickle but still tries very hard to stay still. Okay. Okay, she's laying on the floor with a flying, blood-drinking kitten on her face, but... this is /fine/. It's fine. Of course, it's fine. "Right. Big. Like a Maine Coon? I have a pretty big apartment. Though I guess I shouldn't let her out on the roof without, I don't know, a leash or something. Wait. What will human people see? Anything? I do like her, though. She's... uh. Sweet." In a strange way.
"Ah... Like a Maine Coon," Ana begins uncertainly. "But, Panthera Vampiris is ... Five to ten times larger?" The kinain gives Marigold a rather sheepish smile. "La Baronesa thought it might do to give you a pet who might be able to protect you in times of danger." Anna holds up her hands a foot apart, then spreads them wider and wider, as if to indicate the size of, well... A jaguar. A vampire jaguar.%R%R" Humans see nothing unless you call down the Wyrd to make her real. Then, ah. Well. She will look like her mundane species unless she flies or eats, I guess?"
"Oh, thank /goodness/. I did not want to explain this to, well, anyone. Invisible flying cat. Easier than visible ones. Or visible panther." She blinks, though, eyeing Ana. And her hands. And how very, very far apart her hands are. "Oh, my... goodness." A pause. A slow blink. "She is... thoughtful to think of that," the girl says, choosing her words carefully. "Wait. Did you say... Panthera Vampire? She... really feeds on blood? How much? And. Like. /Any/ blood, or just mine?"
"Well, I am not entirely sure," Ana admits. "Not just your blood!" she insists, somewhat hurriedly, "Bloody meat will do most of the time, though she will drink when she is very hungry. Ah... Thirty to fifty pounds of meat a day? SO... The blood of two or three housecats or a large dog?" Ana fidgets a little, watching as the kitten settles in, having claimed Marisol's nose.
"Mostly, she will hunt on her own, do not worry."
