While many would simply choose to stay indoors with the thunderstorm that has rolled through this evening, it has, for some reason, only made Avery want to go out and do... something. Anything. Dressed in her typical casual clothing, she'll have grabbed Lydon when she saw him and invited him to go with her - to a bar that's also an old '80s style game arcade. 'It'll be fun!' she said... just like she said mini-golf was 'fun'.
The drive over doesn't take too long - perhaps a bit longer as she explains she's never actually been to the place before. Once parked and inside, she looks around, taking it in for all it's worth. "Yes - I do believe this will be fun, don't you?" she looks at Lydon then with a slowly growing smile.
Of course, it wouldn't be a social outing if the German Tremere didn't dress in his fresh, clean business suit. Lydon steps in with Avery with a coy curl of his lips, both hands stuffed into his pockets and then she shrugs lightly. "This is one American tradition I was able to experience... When I was younger." He offers towards Avery and he smirks. "Oh yes, this will be fun. So, let's make a bet of it? Got some stakes in mind?" <English>
"Oooh... well, I suspect you'll be teaching me a thing or two then." Avery admits with a little laugh, her voice lowering as she leans closer to add, "I was only just born when these were really popular." her nose wrinkles at the mention of betting. "I don't know. I've never been much of a betting girl, and the odds aren't exactly in my favor. What are you thinking?"
Grinning brightly, Lydon shrugs at the whispered words and replies softly. "These came out well after I joined the party." He smirks in response, and then chuckles, pondering. "How about..." He starts, peeking for her clothes. "Winner gets to choose the outfit for one night, of the loser?" He offers with a coy, wicked grin for her. <English>
"I was referring to being in diapers," Avery murmurs, an indication that she's young no matter which way you look at it. A brow arches then at the suggestion put forth and she gives Lydon a long look. "Alright, fine. I.. can work with that." after another moment, she tears her gaze away to look around. "Since you seem to have some experience with this, why don't you choose what we take on first?"
There is a playful snicker at that, and Lydon nods back at her, though when she agrees to the terms of the challenge, he chuckles and pauses. "Tell you what, we'll play three games, three times. First game, let's do pacman, and then we'll hit space invaders, and finally tetris." He considers openly. "Start with a classic, move into some action, and wrap it up with a puzzle." <English>
Avery nods slowly. "Alright. While I wish I could ask you to promise not to laugh too hard at me when I ultimately fail, I get the feeling you won't be able to fulfill that promise." Spotting the pacman machine, she starts towards it. "I at least know the jist of this one... kind of." she glances over her shoulder at Lydon with a smile. "You first."

+ROLL/+DICE> Lydon: Wits + Technology vs. 6 -> 0 successes. (9 8 3 1 1)

Following after Avery, Lydon steps up to the machine and inserts some quarters, grinning playfully at her. "No promises indeed..." He assures with a teasing, threatening wink as he turns back to the machine. Of course, just because he's -played- the game before doesn't necessarily mean he's good at it. The game starts, and he's a bit... Slow at getting use to the controls, and ends up running straight into a ghost. His lips curl into a frown and he peeks for Avery. "Th-this one doesn't count, right?" He offers, as he steps back and offers the machine to her. "Just practice?" <English>

+ROLL/+DICE> Avery: Wits + Enigmas vs. 7 -> 0 successes. (6 5 2 2)

Avery positions herself on one side of Lydon, tucking some hair behind an ear as she watches closely - from how he puts the quarters in, to how he manipulates the controls. Can't be too hard, right? She looks at him with a grin. "Sure. Just practice." she steps around then, taking his place while fishing a few coins out of her pocket and eventually inserting a few quarters. That seems to be about the only thing she does right. As the game starts, she eyes the screen and then the controls blankly. "Uh..." one hand moves in imitation of how Lydon's was, but she can only manage to get the pacman stuck in an upwards motion and, all too quickly, gets eaten by a ghost. "This... is ridiculously difficult for a game." she shakes her head with a laugh, once more taking up her spot to the side so Lydon can take his 'official' turn now.

+ROLL/+DICE> Lydon: Wits + Technology vs. 6 -> 0 successes. (5 4 4 3 3)

"It's.... Not though." Lydon explains, as though this should be obvious, his lips curling into a low frown for her as she too fails. "Look, look. It does like this..." He murmurs, and once she's stepped away, he steps up and inserts his quarters, the pair of Kindred completely unable to figure out modern technology, it seems. He starts the game and wrinkles his nose, wiggling his butt out a little as he hunkers down for a serious try... And rams a ghost head on. "Damn..." <English>

+ROLL/+DICE> Avery: Wits + Enigmas vs. 7 -> 2 successes. (9 8 6 2)

Avery's lips purse thoughtfully as she watches - paying particularly close attention to how Lydon handles the controls and his stance. "So maybe I actually stand a chance at this after all?" she teases with a grin, readying some quarters for her own attempt. There's a frown as he rams headlong into a ghost and she shakes her head. "It was a good try," she then says, trying to be encouraging.
Once they switch places, it becomes clear that she really /was/ paying close attention to what Lydon was doing. Unlike the practice attempt, this time she actually manages to get somewhere and almost looks like she knows what she's doing - almost. She actually manages to clear the first board and gets only a quarter of the way through the second before getting stuck and running into a ghost. She says nothing, simply clears her throat and steps back with a slight smile.

+ROLL/+DICE> Lydon: Wits + Technology vs. 6 -> 4 successes. (9 8 7 7 5)

Watching as Avery starts to really dig into the game, Lydon smirks for her especially at the smug throat clear, his gaze trailing after her and he chuckles. "Alright, alright... Well." He starts, stepping forward and inserting a few quarters into the machine. "Perhaps I'm not as good as I used to be..." He decides, and starts...
And start he does, the German Tremere skillfully manipulating the controls and wracking up a legitimate high score, even coming close to getting on the high score board, though he falls short by a couple thousand points. Still, he smirks and steps back. "Last round, and then we switch to space invaders..." <English>

+ROLL/+DICE> Avery: Wits + Enigmas vs. 7 -> 0 successes. (5 5 5 4)

"Perhaps.." Averys says softly, giving Lydon an amused look as he starts. The German is on a mission this round - that much is clear. She arches a brow, watching with a slightly impressed look. "It appears you haven't lost your touch after all, Lydon," she says, foregoing any sort of formality this night and simply saying his name. "Somehow, I don't see myself coming close to matching that."
Stepping around and inserting the coins, she takes up the same positioning she had the last round when she actually managed to clear the level but this time... well, this time mirrors her failed practice attempt. Perhaps she's trying too hard, or Lydon's highly successful go at it has messed with her mind. Whatever the reason - she gets the pacman to go absolutely nowhere and throws her hands up. "Unreal!"

+ROLL/+DICE> Lydon: Wits + Technology vs. 6 -> 4 successes. (9 9 8 6 2)

"Well... You know, maybe not." Lydon teases for Avery playfully, and then as she starts, he smirks playfully but quickly schools his expression for her benefit. "It was a solid attempt." He mentions for her lightly and then gestures after the space invaders machine. "Don't worry, though.... I'll be kind and patient, when picking out your outfit..." He offers in a neutral tone, though his lips curl aftwards into a wicked, teasing grin.
As he leads to the machine and inserts the quarters, he sets up and starts... Doing incredibly well here, too, manipulating the space ship with some dexterity as he shoots down alien space ship, after space ship, wracking up another score that threatens to dethrone the lowest of the high scores. <English>

+ROLL/+DICE> Avery: Wits + Enigmas vs. 7 -> 3 successes. (9 8 8 4)

"Kind and patient? Not thoughtful and considering?" Avery gives Lydon a sideways glance, following along with him to the Space Invaders machine. "If your taste in women's clothing is anything like your taste in suits, then I don't think I have cause to worry." Or does she? Falling silent, she watches as Lydon's game unfolds, wrinkling her nose a bit at how well he does, yet again.
There's a soft 'hmph' at seeing his score, then she steps around to insert her own quarters. She's slow start - taking a few moments to get a feel for how this one works and then she's off - lips pressed in a determined manner as she shoots at those alien ships, doing a fair job at taking them out but not quite coming close to how well Lydon did.

+ROLL/+DICE> Lydon: Wits + Technology vs. 6 -> 2 successes. (10 9 8 2 1)

"Well, to be fair, I was getting a touch worried I might end up in something entirely... Lascivious, if you were close to succeeding." Lydon expresses playfully for Avery as he yields the game to her, and then he shrugs. "I suppose we'll have to see, who gets to pick out what, for who." He observes, and then watches as she starts on her game, and he nods approvingly. "Not bad! You're getting there. Maybe you'll be picking out my outfit for an evening after all..."
There isn't any genuine concern there, though, and as he starts his next round, he smirks as he begins the game, and does a decent job, but doesn't quite come up to the point of beating her last score. <English>

+ROLL/+DICE> Avery: Wits + Enigmas vs. 7 -> 2 successes. (10 9 6 2)

"Why I'd..." Avery begins, staring at Lydon with a bit of an incredulous look before she rolls her eyes. "That's something I'd save as more of a 'wedding' gift... it's not going to happen." She focuses her attention on the game, head tilting a bit before she nods a few times.
"So where did you get to play these anyway?" The question comes as she steps in to take her turn, once again starting off slow but at least somewhat matching Lydon's attempt in how well she does. "In Germany or elsewhere?"

+ROLL/+DICE> Lydon: Wits + Technology vs. 6 -> 1 success. (8 7 5 2 1)

Smirking playfully at Avery as she reacts to the tease, and mentions the wedding gift plan, Lydon laughs happily for her and nods, and then starts in on the final round of space invaders, manipulating the ship a bit less successfully this go around than he has been lately, earning a bit of a lower score but at least not dying immediately. "Germany, yeah." He answers easily with a light nod. "We had this business in Berlin that bought a couple of the games and set them up in an arcade, sensing it might be the new fad, of the century. If only he knew how right he was." <English>

+ROLL/+DICE> Avery: Wits + Enigmas vs. 7 -> 2 successes. (9 8 6 6)

Avery readies a couple quarters as half-watches the game, her gaze shifting steadily between it and Lydon himself. "I'm not sure why, but I never would have guessed you had played them before. I guess I figured you were busy with other pursuits." there's a small smile as she takes his spot, slipping the quarters in and this time starting out a bit quicker at shooting at those ships. She does about as well as her last attempt - managing to beat Lydon's score this time. Not too shabby for someone who hasn't really played before.

+ROLL/+DICE> Lydon: Wits + Enigmas vs. 6 -> 2 successes. (10 6 5 4 2)

"Really? Well. I guess I have been busy with other pursuits, or perhaps that's why I'm not already further ahead in those pursuits than I already am." Lydon appraises, watching her beat his score with a coy smile worn on his lips. "Nice work." He praises, and then leads over to the tetris machine, inserting some quarters and demonstrating neatly how the game is played, scorting an acceptable score. <English>

+ROLL/+DICE> Avery: Wits + Enigmas vs. 6 -> 0 successes. (9 4 2 1)

"Let's just say it's a pleasant surprise that you're good at this." Avery gives Lydon a warm smile, eyeing the final machine then as they arrive at it. "That's... good," she murmurs after watching him, taking her time then before inserting some quarters and starting the game. Can manipulating shapes and fitting them with one another /really/ be that hard? Apparently it can be - at least for her. The shapes twist and turn as they fall, but she's too slow to really get them in the correct spots. "Damnit.." she mutters, giving Lydon a look as she vacates to the side.

+ROLL/+DICE> Lydon: Wits + Enigmas vs. 6 -> 0 successes. (9 5 5 5 1)

"I appreciate that, Avery." Lydon accepts brightly, and then he steps up to the machine after her... Tries. He grants her a reassuring smile as he arranges himself and... The shapes begin to stack up quickly. Maybe he's intentionally throwing, so she can catch up? Either way, he wrinkles his nose as he quickly fails, and he steps aside. "I'm still ahead..." He threatens playfully. <English>

+ROLL/+DICE> Avery: Wits + Enigmas vs. 6 -> 3 successes. (8 7 6 3)

"You don't have to remind me," Avery says with a light laugh, stepping around and inserting the next set of quarters. She wears a much more determined look this time - eyes focused on the shapes as they come up, and easily manipulating them to fall into just the right places. A smile forms as this continues, and she manages to rack up a decent score before finally missing some key spots, resulting in a massive stack-up. "Beat that." she challenges, stepping off to the side once more.

+ROLL/+DICE> Lydon: Wits + Enigmas vs. 6 -> 2 successes. (9 6 5 4 4)

Grinning playfully for Avery, the German Tremere winks as she steps up and really seems to be killing it at the game. Then he chuckles at the teasing taunting, and steps up next. "Alright, alright... It's all down to this last game, yeah?" He offers, and wiggles into place, ready for the challenge with his brow furrowing, focusing on the shapes as he navigates them into place. He doesn't beat her score, but he does at least score fairly well, before setting aside and gesturing for her to go next. "Should I start looking for an outfit now?" He taunts playfully. <English>

+ROLL/+DICE> Avery: Wits + Enigmas vs. 6 -> 2 successes. (9 8 6 1)

"All good challenges come down to the wire," Avery remarks, arms folding loosely beneath her chest as she watches Lydon's last attempt closely. There's a wrinkle of her nose - he did good, but not as good as she did. There's still a chance!
With a short laugh she steps up, immediately slipping the quarters into the slot. "You're so certain you're going to win, aren't you?" she murmurs, directing her focused attention to what she's doing. She does well to start, but it's clearly not as good as her last try. While the shapes are turning, they're not moving fast enough to drop into the right slots. "Crap!" she exclaims, watching wide-eyed as she fails to get a key piece moved in time and the stack-up commences. Bowing her head, she shakes it after a moment, then looks up at Lydon silently.

<OOC> Lydon says, "Lydon: 15; Avery: 14"

"So they do..." Lydon accepts for Avery, and watches as she begins her game, and he makes a show of pulling out his flip phone, rather intentionally showing images on his... Old phone, of flirty dresses. That can't be what he's picking out for her to wear, can it?
Either way, she comes up -just- short of even tying the game out, let alone beating him, and he smiles brightly for her, stuffing his phone back into his pocket and reaching a hand out for hers. "Now is your chance to back out, if you'd like..." He grants with a wicked smile, grinning brightly." <English>
"You won fair and square," Avery begins as she turns fully to face Lydon, slipping a hand into the one offered. "I'm not going to back out. I did agree to it after all and I do tend to keep my word."
