I HUNGER!

Participants: Abeba Riko Tauri

Storyteller: Memnon

Location: Tuna Canyon

Date and Time: November 5, 1955 11:05pm

Summary: A hunt in Tuna Canyon

It is early in the morning at Tuna Canyon, Memnon asked the others to meet him here, "Good morning ladies, sadly Akiko is needed elsewhere but I am sure you three can accomplish the task I have for you without her. As you know Tuna Canyon will be our hunting ground, it is time for me to treat it as such by scent marking. There is no way I can do scent marking on an empty stomach. I need you three to go out there and hunt down some game for me, preferable deer."

Abeba smiles, "You act like you never get any food or something. I guess we can hunt down some deer though."

Riko raises an eyebrow but then shrugs. "Why not? Though deer are kind of much larger than foxes, I guess we might bring one down eventually. Maybe if we work together, a little easier."

Tauri idly scratches the back of her neck. "I thought you just bought food when you were in the city. I'm sure we can take down a deer without any trouble. There's nothing like us in this area."

Memnon smiles at Riko, "That is what I like to hear Riko." He shakes his head to Tauri "There is a saying when in Rome do as the Romans do. If I am going to mark this place in my lion form then I am going to do as a lion would do and have his lioness hunt down animals for him before I do the scent marking." He walks over to Abeba and gives her his full attention, "With Akiko gone, I expect you to lead this group in a successful hunt, don't let your King down."

Abeba isn't worried. "If there is any deer around here, we will find them. Shouldn't be too difficult."

"We just need to figure out how to take it down... I could get a bow or something, but I guess that'd be cheating if you want to do it 'as the Romans do'" Riko notes with a little chuckle, then shrugging as she brushes her hair back. "That near-Fox shape might be helpful for once..."

Tauri chuckles. "How to take it down? We just pounce it and bite its neck. It's just like catching an impala. Sneak up on it and kill it. We just have more cover here."

Memnon looks to Tauri, "Foxes would have a harder time taking on the game that a lion would. I am sure you three will figure out a way to coordinate your hunting. However, it is time for you three to do less talking about it and more going out there and doing it."

Abeba nods, "We could shoot it, though I guess that might be making it too easy. Well even just clawing it is probably easy since deer around here shouldn't be used to lion attacks." She turns to head out. "Let's go."

Riko nods a tad on the size comment before she stretches a moment. "Ok, Abeba, you lead the way then?" she asks, following out onto the porch once the other woman gets going

Tauri nods. "Sure, let's go find something and bring it down. I'm still getting used to this terrain, so lead the way." She follows along with the others.

Looking and sniffing around both Riko and Tauri are able to detect two things, one that there are deer tracks and two, that something else has marked certain areas of Tuna Canyon as their own. Abeba senses are able to give her more detailed information.

You paged Abeba with 'You smelled something similar to this scent marking before back in Africa, it was from a wyrm tainted honey badger.

Abeba catches an unexpected scent and shifts back to her human form. "I caught the scent of a wyrm tainted honey badger. Or at least it is something similar to that. We should be careful here."

Riko blinks at Abeba at the sudden shift, sitting some moment as she tilts her head, looking at Tauri first, then back to the woman. But then she nods.

Tauri shifts back to human form as well. "A Wyrm tainted honey badger? That seems... unusual. We should try to kill it, if we can. We don't want those sorts of things in our territory. Can you tell where it is?"

Abeba looks around, "It considers this its territory, so expect a fight regardless. So yeah, we should try to find it before it finds us." She shifts back to her lion form and looks for tracks.

Riko nods again, raising her nose to try to pick up the faint marks, the vulpine nose twitching.

As the two large cats grow into their war forms, the large-scale fox grows up to her human form, offering a hand to the two for a few moments. "H...hey... Sure, we should handle that thing, but I'd better try not to get hit, ok? Foxes don't heal like the rest of the Bete you know." Not really expecting a reply, she curls back down, the body contorting as it resumes the monstrous sied fox... which means about the size and weight of a wolf.

Tauri shifts into her massive lion form, shaking her head a little as she readjusts to the renewed sounds and smells of the area. She looks to Riko as she talks, then nods, moving to her side to take up a guarding position.

Abeba takes her larger lion form as she looks around for more recent tracks, so they can hunt down the creature.

As the group moves deeper into Tuna Canyon they find two pairs of fresh tracks of the wyrm tainted creatures.

The group silently follows the fresh tracks and sees two massive badgers that are the size of wolverines their bodies are covered with pus-filled tumors. The two fomori badgers are currently feasting on a dead deer the don't notice the group.

Tauri hunches down as they catch sight of the huge festering badgers, starting to move more quietly, creeping through the woods to get into a good ambush position to strike from.

Tauri darts out from her ambush spot, as she's done many times before. She wants to keep one of them occupied, so she leaps at one of them, looking to pin it down to let her companions deal with the other, but her claws just don't gain any purchase in the pus-coated leathery hide of the beast and she slides right off the other side, rolling on the ground and jumping back up onto her feet with a growl.

Abeba sneaks up on them then charges! She doesn't want to taste the weird pus so she goes for a claw attack and hits one in the face with a paw, though her claws don't cut through the rough skin.

Following the example of the lionesses, the large fox closes in, catapulting in over the last feet, claws raking through the back of the creature not pinned down. Luckily, her claws penetrate the skin, ripping deep wounds into the creature's back while the momentum carries the large Fox over the body, narrowly avoiding a jet of puss exploding from a pustle she cuts open as she passes. Breaking the movement, she spins around again, ready to strike back any moment...

Tauri gives a roar as she pounces on her target again, tackling it and pushing it to the ground this time, sitting on top of it with a firm grip on its nose. The thing squirms under her, and it is still hard for her to get a good grip as it slides out from under her and gets back to its feet.

Abeba is careful to avoid the pus as she swipes her claw at the corrupt animal, and this time injuries it a bit more.

Riko dodges the badger's attack as it suffers Abeba's strike, giving it enough distance to have it only strike air

The male fomor after taking a hit from Abeba tries to claw at Riko but misses.

The female fomor after being pounced upon by Tauri manages to escape.

Tauri gives another roar as she digs her claws into the ground and leaps at her target again, knocking it back to the ground and pinning it under the massive weight of a lion, biting down on its muzzle again.

Riko swipes at the beast, but not fat enough to evade the puss splotching on the leg she uses, the stuff hissing as it irritates the skin there.

Riko keeps her distance for the moment, dodging the raging beast's claws

Tauri keeps her jaws locked on the creature's muzzle. She digs her claws in, but the creature's hide is quite resilient. It squirms under her, but she pushes down and keeps it in place.

Abeba slams the creature right in the head again, but her claws don't go deep enough.

The male fomor absorbs the Abeba attacks and tries to claw Riko but misses again.

The female fomor tries to reverse the hold Tauri has on her but just is not strong enough to do so this time.

Abeba rakes her claws against the creature once more, drawing a bit of blood this time but the wound isn't that deep.

Riko seems to pretty much dodge around the strikes and swipes of the Badger, though that doesn't allow her much of a chance to strike back either.

Tauri continues to dig her claws into the foul critter under her, but its hide is extremely tough She bites down harder on its muzzle, stifling its breath as it struggles under her.

Abeba roars and claws the beast two more times, putting her fury into it, though her claws can't seem to cut deep into its hide.

One badger fomor tries to escape Tauri chokehold but fails, luckily it can hold its breath for a while. The other fomor tries to attack Riko but Riko is easily able to move out of the way.

Abeba is tired of these stupid creatures and their hard hide. She slams her paws down on the ground and rakes her claws across a spot of hard rock. Sparks come off the rock as she sharpens the claws enough to shine like diamonds.

One fomor is still unable to escape Tauri. The other fomor does manage to claw Abeba before it is clawed to death by Riko.

Tauri growls as she looks at the one she has pinned, her claws continuing to slide off of its hide, but managing to keep it pinned under her, squirming frantically under her weight.

Having thought the badger would go for her again, Riko had waited for the moment to dodge, but as the thing instead struck after Abeba, she leashed out after the beast. Her claws find purchase, even as it isn't a perfect execution, and bring it down as they pierce the spine.

Tauri shakes her head, keeping her jaw locked on its muzzle as she continues scratching at its chest, not having any luck getting through the hide. She gives a growl of approval as the others come to assist her.

The fomor stays stuck in Tauri's hold, however, his tough leathery armor fur allows him to shrug off all the attacks that hit him.

Abeba raises up and slices down both claws at once at the monster, digging the claws deep and drawing out pus but apparently no blood.

As the one beast crumples to the floor, Riko moves in to assist with taking down the other, her caws finding some purchase, but not doing more damage than opening a few pustules on the beast's back, the spray of which luckily misses her for the most part.

Tauri digs her claws into the ground, focusing on keeping it pinned down, bitting its muzzle and shaking her head to keep it disoriented as the others come and start to claw at it while it's helpless in her grip.

As the blood of the creature coats the claws of Riko and the lionesses', their onslaught continues for some time. It isn't the fox though that slays it, her claws only shredding down the leathery skin and opening the body while Tauri holds it down...

Abeba pounces on the creature with the other two, and with her sharpened claws, she finds a weak spot as it is distracted with the others. She strikes hard in the back of its neck, clawing down to the spine.

Tauri jumps off of the beast when it stops moving, growling and spitting as she shakes her head, shifting back to her human form and making a grimace. "Those things taste terrible. So, I guess we ought to burn all this now. We can't do too much with any of this." She looks to the others. "Oh. Do we have any fire?"

Abeba shifts back to her human form. "That is why I wasn't biting them. Never bite things leaking pus out of them."

Riko flinches as she slowly shifts back to human, rubbing over a few splotches that look like sunburn before she looks in her pockets. "Their puss stings kinda. I check for a lighter, but do you got gasoline on you? And a shovel? We better not try to set the area on fire, but we needed fuel with the coyotes."

Tauri gives a heavy sigh. "I suppose we could just bury them and get Memnon out here to cleanse the area later. We don't want any random scavengers feeding on them and getting tainted."

Riko comes up with a few matches after a short search, shrugging a moment. "That is unless you want to try and burn them still. Just need to spend time to get a fire started... and keep Memnon waiting for his dinner."

Abeba nods to Tauri, "That is my biggest concern. Anything that isn't buried deep is eventually going to get dug up and eaten by something, but we can come back later to do the fire. It should be fine for a short-term solution."

Tauri looks around as she talks. "I'm sure he'll be fine waiting for a little when he hears about what we had to deal with. Let's just build the fire and get them taken care of now. Let's just gather up some logs and get it going."

Riko sighs a moment, Riko nods, starting to gather twigs and underbrush - and also clearing an area around the corpses of the two beasts piled upon another. "Let's just make sure that the fire doesn't spread then."

Abeba builds a fire and burns the bodies, once they are charred and no longer monster-looking she will put out the fire and bury them where they can't be found.

Tauri shifts to sokto form, scratching an area around the fire clear with her claws as Abeba works on starting it. "Yeah, I've seen enough brushfires to keep an eye out for them. I think we can keep it contained."

After doing all this Riko shall learn that a lioness's work is never done. A large angry roar can be heard throughout the area. Tauri and Abeba would know that that roar translate to, ~I HUNGER!~

Riko says "I think that was the hungry head of the house? We better get him some kind of treat..."

Tauri nods. "Yeah, he's getting impatient. We'd better catch a deer or something and get back. Hopefully without finding any more of these wretched things."

Abeba makes sure the fire is out and all evidence gets rid of and buried then goes hunting for some food.
