Background

There isn't much to notice about this woman, as she is typically beneath it. She presents herself with a certain self-confident but casual dignity despite being physically unremarkable. Alyssa lives in a run-down apartment in Watts, having moved into town around a year ago now. She works as a home assistant for the sick and elderly, and volunteers heavily with the local catholic church. She's fairly unremarkable but can be seen biking around various parts of Los Angeles and enjoying fairly high profile events on occasion.
If you dig further back, you'll find birth records in San Diego to a navy surgeon father and chemical worker mother. Death certificate for the latter thirteen years later to late stage lukemia, the former now holds a practice in San Diego. Police record of attacking her brother with a propane torch, followed by a disappearance. The only noted record you might be able to find after this is a possible reappearance noted alongside a Marcius Wells in Las Vegas, suspected human trafficking operation that was not determined. She has no recorded employment or medical history, or any criminal history in the last thirteen years.
Spoilers ahead, at your peril
Alyssa's childhood was not a very stable or pleasant one. Losing her mother to cancer and her home life descending into a spiral, she found solace in faith. Epiphany was an empowering time, but also one of great uncertainty as she harmed her brother and ran away from home. She was taken under the wing of a Knight of Saint George out in the Mojave, and she grew up in a small cloister with other choristers. This sheltered awakening was one of obeisance and hierarchy, she learned through her faith in the One.
It was out of a strong desire to see the world through these new eyes and to use her abilities to help others that she took the oaths and became a sworn squire to the Knights, a role she embraced whole heartedly. Her initial romanticism was very quickly shattered, but she still found the higher purpose driving and inspiring. Instead of high school and university, Alyssa was a silent scout and protector. Her experience was mostly informal, living an itinerant life up until her knight disappeared suddenly.
Alyssa has followed her only lead into the City of Angels, and she's taken up what she can to make a difference here.
