Since 2006, Dr.Adam Bricker has been an integral part of Anchorage Neurosurgical Associates Inc. and has cared for thousands of Alaskans. After almost 40 years as a surgeon, he retired on December 3, 2019. His contribution to our practice is one of the reasons we are considered the best in the State.
Anchorage Neurosurgical Associates Inc. will make each patients transition of care to another provider as seamless as possible. We are incredibly proud of Adam's work and dedication to his patients over the years. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues and those who have been in his care. We want to thank Dr. Bricker for his long-standing commitment to the State of Alaska and for being an excellent surgeon."
In addition to his published works in Neurosurgery, Dr. Bricker served as an advisory board member for the Alaska Department of Health and Human Services. He consulted to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and rotated residencies for the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Bricker is heading to Southern California, where his wife of 35 years, Louise Chavez, was born. She passed away in 2017, but Dr. Bricker said they always planned to retire in her home town.
"I have to admit, I'm looking forward to the summertime winters and a lot less snow. To see the skies and the beaches that inspired Louise? It'll keep her memory alive as it is in my heart."
In retirement, Dr. Bricker said he hopes to take his 35-foot sailboat, "Dock Holiday", on trips around Catalina, the Channel Islands and south into Baja, Mexico.
"With a top speed of 7 mph, it's hard to get very far when you're working 100 hours a week," he said. "So, I am looking forward to being able to take my time and do some traveling."
We wish him the very best in retirement!
