Fame 1~ As 'Charlie X', her poetry and short fiction (combined with her photography) has generated her some minor e-fame, though the young author behind it remains out of the spotlight. Perhaps you've seen her work on social media?
Student~ She's enrolled in UCLA's English program. Perhaps you've seen her around campus?
Hobbies~ Photography! But decidedly spooky in taste, graveyards, old buildings and decay. Haunted places? Even better! Urbex?! Well...
Health~ Health issues have left her frail and easily fatigued. She tries to keep up.
Spooky!~ In spooky circles she's rumoured to be an Exorcist. Which is a weird thing to have a rumour about.
(Self) Published Works
Book 1 (waiting on living) ~ Macros and abstracts of healthcare equipment, liminal spaces within hospital walls, all from the point of view of a frequent patient. The poetry reflects this. Unsophisticated generally - the author is a teenager after all - but clever, observant. Words from meat going through processing, though the path starts in pieces and hopes to be made whole.
Book 2 (dusk in spring) ~ Very much in the same voice of her first book, but a bit older and more self-aware, hints of wry humour. The focus is really the photography, calling in theme back to her first book, a hospital is dominant to her life but no longer quite as central. Now included are some signs of death; mausoleums and columbariums, grave stones, the trappings of memorial. Interesting angles and abstractions of standard gothic tropes. As if to contrast, recognize that 'there but for the grace of God...'
Book 3 (work in progress) ~ She is known to have moved from to the west coast and enrolled in college, which has very much delayed her third publication, though hints of it appear in social media
@CharlieX ~ Her social media, of course, is updated semi-regularly, with snippets of notes and works, images that appear to be inspired by her next project and black&white photographs that of what appear to be taken in and around the grounds of some great house.
