Chelsea
Chelsea Sawyer has lived a rather interesting life to say the least, or perhaps interesting isn't the best way to put it. The first 9 years of her life were rather uneventful, average, maybe even boring. She had parents that lived a very middle class lifestyle to anyone's knowledge, family that she saw on all major holidays, standard fare. One day on a trip to the store the Sawyer family was involved in a terrible, tragic accident, the vehicle absolutely mutilated after a collision with a train. There's several theories as to what happened; some chalked it up to Mr. Sawyer's impatience wanting to get from Point A to Point B as soon as possible. Others believed it was mechanical failure - the official cause issued by the police department's taskforce. A few, one might say conspiratorial minded fringe, believe the vehicle was sabotaged and that the Sawyers had history in the Intelligence Community and as a bit of revenge a third party nation acted in retaliation over a prior incident. Her parents died instantly however, miraculously enough Chelsea survived with only minor cuts and bruises.
From there Chelsea went to her next of kin, her aunt and uncle who adopted her after the accident and the three moved across the country several times until they put roots in San Francisco after opening a diner, Sawyer's Diner. The press largely protected Chelsea's anonymity having not been an adult at the time of the accident, only listing the names of her parents and that they were survived by one daughter and this bit of history is something she keeps close to the chest, not wanting to relive the incident. This allowed her to live a mostly a normal life, investing most of her time in sports, martial arts and working at the family's diner which led her to discover her two passions in life; cooking and amateur wrestling.
She managed to earn an athletic scholarship upon graduating, heading south to LA to join the UCLA collegiate wrestling team. It was around this time that Sawyer's Diner expanded into Southern California, establishing the local family owned chain as a regional enterprise. Today nobody would ever know that she survived a horrific accident or lost both of her parents. They'd just know her as the girl flipping burgers, serving steaks and peanut butter inspired items (thanks for the inspiration, Euphemia!), hitting the gym hard and the mat even harder and doing what she can to help those in need, just so nobody would ever have to feel the way she did. Sometimes it pays to have many lives like a cat but nobody can truly understand the burden it brings.
