Claire Cohen is a recent transplant in LA from New York City. The trip from the Big Apple to La La Land was made for rather enigmatic reasons, but it's safe to assume it isn't to make it big in Hollywood. Back home in New York, Claire made a name for herself as a private investigator who specialized in murders and abductions whose trails had gone cold. Local law enforcement officers balked at her approach, but couldn't scoff at her results. Her work contributed to the solving of at least three separate cases, and resulted in one conviction. She's a bit odd, but then again, she does claim to be able to talk to dead people. These things come with the territory.
