Harpy News: An Attempt on Primogen Schultz - August 15, 2022

“Recently there was an attempt on Primogen Schultz’s life. Did you hear about it? Stop me if you did.”

“I heard about it, but there are so many questions! It was Jay Wilder who snuck into Primogen Schultz’s tower in Century City, looking to snuff out the Primogen, right? Mr. Wilder was an underground rapper, and a member of the Westside Anarchs.”

“So the story goes. Did you know that the Primogen claims Mr. Wilder was an infernalist.”

“Come on… how does he know that?”

“The ‘Infernalist’ proof was the orb of black flame Mr. Wilder conjured up trying to kill him. According to the Primogen, there are some forces that you can just recognize, and infernal magic is one of them. The only reason Schultz is still alive is because Mr. Wilder couldn’t control his magic. And you know what else? He went so far as to say he has a gut feeling that even though Mr. Wilder claimed to be a Westside Anarch, he had to be Sabbat with that kind of dark power.”

“That’s… really wild! Sir Menethil actually said the same thing. He insists Mr. Wilder was a Sabbat as there is no way he could know the dark arts if he was so young. It takes a long time to learn that magic. If one is very skilled they can learn, but it still takes time. You have to study it. You have to understand it. There are no shortcuts. So if Mr. Wilder knew the dark magic, there is no way he could be as young as he claimed, and know all that he did. He had to be older than he let on. But the bottom line is, Sir Menethil is totally convinced Mr. Wilder was Sabbat.”

“I want to know though, with so many Camarilla targets, why did Mr. Wilder chose Primogen Schultz to attack?”

“There are actually a few theories. One was that whole mess the Primogen had with Cassie Alston. Mr. Wilder was very affectionate with her and may have wanted to avenge her.”

“Or, Mr. Wilder thought with all the current chaos it made a great opportunity to diablerize someone he thought would be an easy target.”

“Okay, so, the big question is, why on earth do you think Mr. Wilder attacked alone? Seems like a dumb thing to do.”

“If Mr. Wilder was indeed a Sabbat staying on the Westside as an ‘infiltrator’, it could explain why he attacked alone, being so far away from the Sword’s territory. Or perhaps he just misjudged his power, to his detriment. Or… maybe Primogen Schultz is just that big of a badass.”

Harpy News: Bar Sinister Grand Re-Opening Party - July 28,2022

Two harpies are overheard chattering away in Zavarka Salon while one shows the other a 90's style event flyer.

"Did you SEE this? Clan Nosferatu, who now claim Yucca Corridor as their domain, have wasted no time in designated Bar Sinister as the Official Rack of the Camarilla. They're even throwing a Grand Re-Opening party next week! The Nosferatu Primogen and Seneschal, Peter Crawley, was handing out these flyers in Elysium last night."

'Flyers?! Really?'

"Oh, yes! Aren't they something? I wonder if the Seneschal made them himself? It says here that 'A variety of refreshments will be provided for those Kindred who are feeling peckish…' and LOOK, they even got Kitty Lectro to man the DJ booth!"

'Who?!'

"Oh… honey. Nevermind that, you'll find out next week along with the rest of the Camarilla. Well-mannered Anarchs are invited, as well, but they will have to abide by the new rules of Hollywood. Feeding is restricted to the Camarilla only, so all those tasty refreshments are off-limits. Furthermore, I've heard that Anarchs are no longer allowed to haven in Hollywood overnight without the express permission of the Seneschal, himself."

'Are there still any Anarchs LEFT in Hollywood?'

"Darling, if there are, I hope they see the light soon enough, but I think anyone remaining has fled to the Westside or left the city, altogether."

'Shame! That means there is no-one left to Keep Tinseltown Weird, right?'

Harpy News: Greeting Griffith Park's Gangrel! - July 26, 2022

"Did you hear about Griffith Park?"

"It feels like I'm hearing about nothing BUT Griffith Park lately. Like, what's so special about Griffith Park? It's just... like... trees, and stuff."

"I mean, well, yeah, but it's kind of important? Like, it's right up against Glendale, and Glendale is right up against... you know... I mean, that's why I was TOLD it's so important. You couldn't catch me there. It's huge. I'd get lost and then when the sun came up, I'd be a pile of ash and these Blahniks."

"Wait. So. If it's so huge, and it's apparently important, why are we putting it under literally one Gangrel."

"You know, when you say it like THAT, it comes off actually kind of rude and reductive? So back when Primogen Hastings was Prince -- ugh, I'm still not used to calling her 'Primogen' again, I keep waiting to say Prin-- anyway -- there was SOME kind of deal cut where this Gangrel named Shawna would keep Griffith Park clean, if you know what I'm saying, and the Tower wouldn't shove her out. Because she was, like, a Hollywood Anarch. Or maybe a Westside Anarch? I think Hollywood. It was kind of unclear."

"She's the crows, right?"

"Yeah, Shawna had, like, this army of crows. And then Bastian Fox, Scourge Vogel, and this other Gangrel, Becky... Cromwell? I think it's Cromwell. Anyway... They decide, okay, the deal that Prin-- Primogen Hastings made? That's off. And the messed up thing is that apparently like, Shawna and Becky were friends? But Fox must have made her a hell of an offer."

"She's the bats, right?"

"Yeah, Shawna had crows and Becky has bats. Anyway... Becky poisoned all the crows, and then she and Scourge Vogel and a bunch of Fox's hitters went in there and... bye bye Shawna, long live Becky, you know?"

"See, but I thought Becky was with Isaac Abrams and the Hollywood Anarchs."

"I mean, so was Primogen Blue. Fox made her an offer, and she joined up. And now Griffith Park is undisputedly Tower turf, and it's Becky's domain."

"So... how's one Gangrel going to protect all that domain? Seriously."

"I dunno. Shawna had some way of doing it... Becky must have hers. Fox must think she's up to the job, because... it's officially hers now. Which made it sort of an OOPSIE when Sheriff Lopez and a bunch of people decided to use it as the staging ground for a little Setite hunt without clearing it first with Becky."

"Oh! I think I heard about that. Theo and... the other one was... Aden, right?"

"Yeah. They're ash. Good riddance, though, right? Like, I can't believe we had a SETITE walk around in ELYSIUM... ugh, it gives me the creeps just thinking about it. Like, the Gangrel, they're SORT OF creepy? But eeeuuuhh, Setites. I guess Deputy Marin realized what a mistake they'd made, though, because she left Becky with the Setites' car and their ghoul, like, said he could be her meal or something."

"...do Gangrel... eat kine?"

"Um... I don't know? Maybe? I... don't really want to think about that. Anyway, Becky's... cool, I guess? Like, she sticks to herself and has this serious Resting Bitch Face going on, and she doesn't talk much, but... I mean, she was one of the first of the Anarchs to join the winning team, and she didn't need a lot of pushing on it, like the Beverly Hills ones... Even if Gangrel DO eat kine, or, uh, whatever, I'm glad she's on OUR side..."

Harpy News: Harper Campbell Re-instated as Keeper - July 6, 2022

A trio of harpies are overheard chittering from a leather sofa and arm-chair pairing at Zavarka Salon…

"Do you remember all that talk about Elysium a couple of months ago? The growing frequency of disrespect shown within the VIP Area? Well, girls, do I have news for YOU! I think the problem will finally be solved."

'Oh? Do go on. Is Keeper Lancaster finally laying the smack down?'

"Oh, honey. Didn't you hear at court? Oliver Lancaster has left the city. Clan Ventrue business, I heard. Seneschal Crawley said so, himself, when he announced that the position was open to new candidates!"

'Indeed? I must have missed that… the end of Bastian Fox's documentary about his sire, Prince Lightbourne, had me stolen away with inspiration!'

"..."

"Back to the topic at hand. Yes, it's true that Oliver has left but the Seneschal announced a new Keeper of Elysium, last night. Well, not a NEW Keeper… but an OLD one."

'WHO?!'

"Harper Campbell has been reinstated into the position she previously held before her terrible abduction and rescue several months ago. Seneschal Crawley commended her returning 'rise', himself. So, as of last night, the vacated office of the Keeper of Elysium is full, yet again. If there is anyone who can restore Elysium to a place of proper decorum and respect, it is Harper Campbell."

'You don't think you're laying it on a bit thick, do you?'

"Oh, girl…"

Harpy News: Kennedy Wilde Stripped of Century City! - July 6, 2022

“What have you heard about Emily Cade and Kennedy Wilde? Rumors are going around like wild-fire!”

“I’ve heard a lot of stuff! Miss Cade, who is a Toreador Harpy, was found to be a collaborator and spy for the Kuei-Jin. She is a traitor to the Tower. And when moves were made to bring her to justice, Miss Cade escaped LA through outside interference, by way of her sire, Isaac Abrams of Hollywood.

“Miss Cade was actually Abram’s childe?”

“That’s right! But here is the crazy part. You know Kennedy Wilde, right?”

“The Toreador primogen?”

“-Former- Toreador primogen… Could it be these actions caused her to lose her position? Because Miss Wilde was actually involved in this mess. She admitted she was complicit in a plan that allowed Isaac Abrams’ retainer to take possession of Miss Cade and helped her escape LA unharmed. Miss Wilde’s poor decision-making and carelessness led to a known traitor and trusted member of our praxis escaping questioning and justice.”

“Miss Wilde actually did all that? What’s going to happen to her?”

“Miss Wilde is being spared the fate of a traitor to the Tower because, allegedly, she was not aware that Emily was working for the Kuei-Jin. Normally that fate is Final Death.”

“Miss Wilde is really lucky then.”

“Well, maybe not -so- lucky. As punishment, she is being required to give up all her Century City domain to Primogen Schultz. So, all Kindred who choose to remain in Century City must recognize Primogen Schultz’s suzerainty over that territory or vacate it immediately. Miss Wilde is also barred from holding any office in our praxis for the period of one year.”

“Damn! Pretty serious stuff. How did she take it?”

“Miss Wilde was completely stoic when the punishments were relayed to her. No note of surprise, no sign of distress. She made it known she intends to vacate her Century City haven and occupy her Hancock Park property instead, as well as potentially work for the Alastor Ian Standford of Clan Ventrue as an auditor. He’s been tasked by the Camarilla to address the Gui Ren threat in Koreatown.”

“Wait. She can’t hold a praxis office, but she can work as an auditor?”

“I know. Crawley didn’t really seem to approve either, but it’s kind of a loophole I guess. Since they’re working directly for the Camarilla and not our praxis, it’s okay. But… that wasn’t the only sticky little situation. You know Harper Campbell of Clan Toreador, don’t you? Well, while all this was going on, Miss Campbell stood up and suggested that while Miss Wilde claims she didn’t know Miss Cade was a spy, she was in a meeting where Primogen Hastings point blank told her Miss Cade was a spy.”

“But… I thought Miss Wilde said she didn’t know!”

“Seems like there is a bit of grey area there. When asked again by Seneschal Crawley, Miss Wilde alleges she ‘had’ been told Cade was a spy, but that she simply didn’t believe it. That’s when Seneschal Crawley made a point of declaring that Tremere sorcery -- the sorcery that compelled Miss Wilde to be truthful, is apparently not foolproof. And because Miss Wilde chose to ignore the warnings she was given, well, it just proves how deeply impaired her decision making is. Seneschal Crawley wants the entire praxis to know how careless Miss Wilde was and how close she came to meeting her end.”

Harpy News: A 'New' Toreador Primogen - June 28th, 2022

A pair of harpies are overheard gnattering on in Elysium...

"She's back!"

"Who is back? You're being incredibly vague. Please don't tell me you are referring to that Banu Haqim that vanished after heading off to confront Dusty at Deadfall?!"

"The Jezail? NO. That was ages ago and she's surely dust. Plus, who even puts 'The' in front of their name like that? No, honey. I'm talking about the former Prince, Summer Hastings! I heard she held a recent informal salon with some of her fellow Toreador just the other night!"

"NO! I heard she was off to Fresno or some other cow palace to serve as their Prince, next?"

"All false! No, Summer Hastings never left the city. I have it on good authority that she's been sulking alone in her haven after stepping down from the big seat but, to her credit, she's gotten over herself and has decided to return to the fold."

"Good for her! Primogen Kennedy Wilde could use another loyal Toreador in her rose garden."

"Funny you should say that, my dear! I heard that Kennedy Wilde graciously stepped down and offered Summer her old Primogen seat, back. The move would let Summer focus her efforts Downtown while opening up Kennedy to continue her great work turning Century City into the Camarilla's Bastion in the West."

"Okay, but that last part is putting it a little thick, don't you think? I mean, don't you wonder about the timing so soon after that showing at court between Kennedy and Bastian Fox?"

"Honey, I don't know about you, but I think the timing couldn't be better. The new regime will need a stalwart eye out west and Kennedy Wilde is showing her ability to think of her clan and the Camarilla before herself. Bravo!"

"If you say so... though, I have to wonder in Summer's case, is being the Toreador Primogen in Los Angeles a step UP from being the PRINCE of a place like Fresno?"

"Honey, you have NO idea..."

Harpy News: Caedes Whistler banned from Cicada Club? - June 21, 2022

“So much ado about a mouse in the house… have you heard the latest?”

“Have I? Who hasn’t! Apparently there were some real fireworks between Mister Charles Whistler (AKA Caedes) and Chancellor Elizabeth Tanner in the Cicada Club a few nights ago. The story goes that it started with a fairly routine issue; Mister Whistler entered the club with his pet mouse. Chancellor Tanner explained that mice are not allowed in the club. Health code violations, and such.”

“That seems pretty reasonable, don’t you think?”

“I do, but evidently Mister Whistler did not. He argued that mice were not explicitly forbidden, and that his mouse is generally well behaved. But the Chancellor was having none of that. The mouse had to go. That’s when Mister Whistler lost his mind.”

“No.”

“Yes! Mister Whistler totally challenged the Chancellor and responded quite menacingly, with a lip snarl and a growl, telling her, ‘Get out of my face, Rose.’ And that was in front of a whole room of people, like Primogen Schultz, Deputy Whitlocke, Lydon Vogel, and Jin Kyong.”

“From what I understand, the Cicada Club is owned by Chancellor Tanner which makes it her domain, right?”

“That’s right. And, the Chancellor got right back in Mister Whistler’s face, challenging him with the fact that it’s her right to make up and enforce any rules she wants. And that he is obligated to adhere to those rules, or get out. Mister Whistler did finally depart, but not without a sarcastic comment and no apology.”

“This is quite unbelievable, but not the first incident she’s had with Mister Whistler and one of his animals. Chancellor Tanner had confronted him about his hound but made special concessions for him, to allow the dog to be present if entering/exiting via the service halls, so it wouldn't walk through the restaurant and dance hall on the first floor.”

“I have subsequently heard that the Chancellor has sent a letter to Seneschal and Nosferatu Whip, Peter Crawley, stating that Mister Whistler is now banned from the Cicada Club and it's Mezzanine Lounge until reparations are made for the disrespect shown to her and her establishment.”

“Well, generally, I think everyone agrees that Mister Whistler is a poor guest. He acted in a highly aggressive and improper manner. This situation could have easily been remedied, or his standing even bettered with a simple apology. He has made a big mistake, especially picking a fight with a Harpy!”

Harpy News: Who Will Lead The Broken Mirror? - May, 2, 2022

“So, here’s the T. We’ve heard again and again, Whip Sveta Serova is the glue that holds the Malkavian clan together… Is that what you’ve heard too? Even though she’d probably deny it herself…”

“Yes! We hear that’s generally how she’s viewed by the rest of the clan as well. She is a no-brainer to take on the Malkavian Primogen position this time around.”

“I’m not sure! If you believe the curious rumors, there is a mysterious dark horse. A person known as ‘Konrad, the Pestilent’. Have you heard of him? Possibly not unless you’re Malkavian or in the know. According to Sveta, she’d move aside for him if he truly wanted to serve as primogen. We’re waiting on pins and needles to see how this plays out!”

“Interesting. I know ‘I’ am going to stay tuned to see how that plays out. But what about Deputy Shelly Marin taking the seat? Seems like a good fit!”

“Well, she was apparently overheard in Elysium saying the only way she’d take the position is if there were absolutely no other options. She feels she serves the Tower just fine in the capacity of Deputy. It’s fairly well known that Clan Malkavian, for all their lunacy, has been one of the most stable clans in terms of its membership and leadership structure. They seem to have good working ties to the rest of the Tower too, perhaps thanks in good part to Deputy Marin! She too is super elusive about this mysterious Konrad. Everyone is saying Whip Serova is the go-to girl on Konrad.”

“Yeah, I’ve heard that too. I’ve also heard Whip Serova, who is a war veteran from the battle of Huntington park, confirms she was there and has a thing for guns. And we confirm she knows her stuff! It’s pretty well known that she has wrangled the Broken Mirror through two absent Primogen. With that stellar track record, and those chops, she’s totally suited for anything the Primogen position has to throw at her. Come on guys, she is the logical choice.”

“What do her predecessors look like? Well… there was Beau, the creepy clown who was hard to track down and had a tendency to show up at what seemed to be the most random of times. And then there was Bette, who usurped the throne from Beau after the latter disappeared. But… Bette was rarely seen at Primogen Council meetings and never at court after claiming the chair for the Malkavian clan. They both left the clan in a void that Whip Serova expertly filled.”

“No matter how much digging we did, we couldn’t find any skeletons in this girl’s closet, and wish her all the best! But… there is still that Konrad person too though, so stay tuned, we’ll see!”

Harpy News: Elysium - Does anyone care anymore? - April, 26, 2022

"Just what is going on with the state of affairs at Elysium these nights? The behavior we've been seeing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall these last few months has been truly abhorrent."

"I know! Did you hear about what happened the other night and the altercation that occurred between the Anarch, Fiddle, and Sheriff Lopez?"

"Oh! We'll get to THAT in a moment. But first, can we all agree that Elysium is meant to be a sacred place that serves as a neutral ground for all Kindred to meet and socialize without the threat of conflict or violence? I know we roll our eyes at the notion of 'safe spaces', but Elysium is a fundamental part of Camarilla, no… Kindred Society, and without it our society is nothing more than monsters in pretty clothing."

"Yes, we can agree on that notion in principle, though lately it feels as if nobody wants to come to the Concert Hall out of fear of getting caught up in one conflict or another. Some are even avoiding Elysium entirely! Frankly, I don't blame them, either. Who wants to socialize in a place where you have to worry about the Sheriff breaking into a fit of frenzy? Certainly not this harpy! But what happened, anyway?"

"Well, it all started when the Anarch named Fiddle walked into Elysium and overheard something Deputy Artemis Whitlocke said to Chancellor Tanner at his expense. Something about ordering a clown for entertainment. He responded by calling the Tremere deputy out on her ponytail… I know, I know, he DOES have a point there, doesn't he?... but where was I? Right! Sheriff Lopez then was insulted by the disrespect shown within Elysium and threatened to incinerate the Southsider in front of everyone!"

"No way! Who else was there?"

"Well, Deputy Whitlocke and Chancellor Tanner, though the Ventrue harpy Khadijah Khalid and Deputy Shelly Marin were there in addition to Sheriff Lopez and Fiddle. Fortunately, the situation resolved itself when the Anarch read the room and departed."

"Anarchs will be childish, but the Sheriff is supposed to help defend Elysium. Instead, Alejandro Lopez's recent behavior seems to be contributing directly to the problem. If a single rude Anarch can have that effect on him then what might happen if someone were to really try to set him off? This wasn't the first time he has been involved in a scuffle in Elysium, either. Remember that incident with the Malkavian Whip, Sveta Serova, a couple of months ago? Surely we should expect better from Clan Tremere."

"So all of this happened so soon after Keeper Oliver Lancaster's posted that warning of his?"

"Yes, though we've heard those warnings in the past and that hasn't stopped these incidents from happening. Where is Harper Campbell when we need her? She was a proper Keeper of Elysium and always worked hard to maintain the sanctity of the concert hall. Campbell even took up her own weapons and stood with the deputies on the night the former Ventrue Primogen, Nakisisa Kanumba, attempted his coup."

"I know Oliver Lancaster runs things differently, but maybe now is the time for action and not words? Something must change if the Kindred of our city are going to take Elysium seriously again."

"I totally agree, especially with all this talk about a second Elysium being in the works. How can we take another one seriously if the current Elysium has had so many incidents…"

Harpy News: New Ventrue Primogen - Six Time's a Charm? - April, 23, 2022

"So I heard that the Ventrue chose a new Primogen... again! What is that, six now? In less than a year? Nakisisa, Gabriel, Gretchen, Grayson, Max, and now Mr. Schultz... yes, six! Do you think they're trying out some sort of bi-monthly rotation thing or..?"

"I honestly don't know/what/ to think about Clan Ventrue in LA at this point. For a Clan who styles themself on leadership and being an example for others to follow, they really haven't done much of either in recent times. And now the Inner Council is sending another 'Blue Blood' to take the throne? Why should we trust the throne going to the 'Clan of Kings' when they can't even keep a semblance of order in their own house?"

"I don't know that we should? Like you say, they haven't done much around here lately except compete for who can be the most uncooperative. I guess we'll just have to wait and see for now. Keep the popcorn warm. So many change-ups... oh, did any of you hear what actually happened to the former Primogen, by the way? Where /did/ Max Michaelson go?"

"I heard he didn't officially resign, just sorta... slipped off into the night. I guess that the state of the Clan was too big a mess even for the so-called Janitor, even with the support of the armored old bat. But enough about the old guy, what do you think about the new pick, Mr. Schultz?"

"I'll admit that I was surprised when I heard his name, a known fairweather member, and one based in Century City, no less. They must really be scraping the bottle of the barrel to vote in someone with his history and reputation as the face of the Clan. How many others do you think declined the seat for it to go to him?"

"It might not be that simple, or boring. Apparently, there was only four people actually present for the vote, and none of the usual Elders. From what I hear, most of the Clan was quite irritated by the lack of notice they were given to attend the Board Meeting in which they were to vote. Only two nights! Especially Keeper Oliver Lancaster III, who was present for the vote, was -very- bothered by the fact that the usual Ventrue Elders were not present to vote in person and voice their opinions."

"Well, surely they got praxis votes, no?"

"I'm not actually sure. You'd think so, but I heard whispers that some of the older members either didn't get a praxis vote, or simply abstained from voting for whatever reason. In protest, I can only assume. Whatever the case, it really just serves to exemplify the disharmony among the city's Blue Bloods, and this new appointment clearly hasn't done anything to bridge the gaps. If Clan Ventrue in LA was a company, they'd be running some seriously red numbers."

"At least he's come down from his perch in Century City and has been showing his face around Elysium and DTLA in the recent months, that /could/ be a positive sign, perhaps?"

"Talking about Century City... With Mr. Schultz appointed to Primogen, and the throne going to the Ventrue, do you think that it points to future troubles for Ms. Kennedy Wilde, who shares Century City with Mr. Schultz?"

"I can't imagine so. Do you really think he would? That seems like an odd, and risky, fight to pick? Ms. Wilde is a Primogen herself, and mostly well liked and respected both in- and outside of her Clan as far as I'm aware. And she's a member of the Hancock Park Home-owner's Association along with our dear Chancellor, surely any conflict with her would be conflict with them as well. Does /he/ even have true support from his own Clan?"

"Not all of them at least, clearly. He appears to have the support of Lydon Vogel of Clan Tremere, though, who voiced as much while at Elysium on the night Schultz's appointment was announced. The Tremere mentioned that he and Mr. Schultz have been very close to forming an official coterie based in Century City. Certainly sounds like the two are becoming quite good friends."

"Interesting nights ahead, girls. But then, aren't they always?"

Harpy News: Yiska Ghost Bear and his new childe! - April, 19, 2022

"Did you hear about the latest news regarding Clan Gangrel's newest member, Yiska Ghost Bear?! Well, he isn't the newest member anymore! It appears that he has embraced none other than Lilena Angelius. Yes, THAT Lilena, the former ghoul of Clan Ventrue!"

"Wasn't she Ventrue Primogen Max Michaelson's ghoul that he paid a Boon to Ventrue Gabriel Coleman for when the latter left town? She sure gets around! Where does that leave Mr. Michaelson in all of this? I do hope Yiska paid HIM a boon for the trouble, though if he did, the harpies surely have not been told!"

"As for Lilena, that is quite the progression from lowly ghoul to embraced kindred, don't you think? Apparently she, herself, claims she was picked for her accounting skills. Since when do Gangrel need accountants? Still, ANYONE who can survive being Gabriel Coleman's ghoul for some twenty years has certainly proved they have the survival instincts Clan Gangrel is well known for."

"Still, do we really believe that reason? She's a successful business woman but surely she was only selected because Primogen Michaelson's vanished and Yiska saw an opportunity to increase the number of Gangrel within the Camarilla as part of his bid for a seat on the Primogen Council."

"But, girls, the question remains… just how did Yiska even obtain permission for a childe so soon after joining the Praxis? Did you SEE how he acted last court? That blatant open discipline use in Elysium is simply unacceptable, especially while on stage so close to the Prince!"

"Former Prince."

"That is true now, but, my point stands! How was he even allowed to get away with that? The safety of the Prince and Primogen Council was put at risk! Why has there been no follow-up from Keeper Lancaster or Sheriff Lopez? Surely they couldn't have forgotten the spectacle in light of the night's bigger news!"

"Summer herself offered only a polite reminder of the sanctity of Elysium. What precedent does this set if anyone can perform such a dangerous display of open discipline use, breaking one of the most sacred rules of Elysium, and then get rewarded for it with the rights to a childe so soon after?! Yiska Ghost Bear should at least offer the Keeper of Elysium and Summer Hastings both a boon for reparation for such blatant disrespect. It's what a civilized kindred would do, don't you agree?"

Harpy News: Lydon Vogel, Talent Night, and Hancock Park - April, 11, 2022

"Did you hear the latest about Lydon Vogel?"

"Someone told me that the Tremere Lydon Vogel may be causing a stir again. Word is that he supposedly used to have hunting rights to that trendy club, The Flux Capacitor, but I just caught wind that his hunting permission has since been rescinded by club-owner and Daughter of Cacophony, Tabi Foster."

"Just what could he have done? Tabi seems quite willing to dole out hunting rights to just about anyone these nights but I haven't heard of anyone else having theirs taken away."

"What about talent night?

"Ewww! Did you hear that song that Caitiff Anarch sung at Keeper Lancaster's talent night the other night? Some shanty about Caitiff rights? Read the room, Rabble! Meanwhile, ALL the kudos go to the Winter Harington, Leetah Lanley, and Zebastian Oygard. Those three were simply magnificent with their performances!"

"What about Keeper Oliver Lancaster's comedy routine? That was delightful to watch. Who knew he would be so funny while portraying an inept musician attempting to play that wonderful Guns 'n Roses song?"

"My favorite act? Definitely Deputy Shelly Marin with her magic trick at the end. The good Deputy earns bonus points for NOT singing, at the very least!"

"Let's talk about The Housing Association of Hancock Park!"

Have you heard the latest rumors? Who IS the true power within Hancock Park these nights?"

"Well, Mr. Stanford has tried to play at many games. He's tried to be the Ventrue Primogen. He's passed on some opportunities in order to try to make larger power grabs and failed. He chased away a prominent coterie mate when he tried to muster the troops and keep things going. He sits in his Country Club and hasn't come out for quite some time. He's a non-factor as far as anything goes."

"The Chancellor, however, is a different story. She is climbing in position, she is the one actually researching the threats to the HoA and trying to plan accordingly. She is the one who tries to make end-roads in Hollywood too at least and helps with the future there."

"She's the one people go to if they need anything done as she is far more approachable. The most powerful HOA member is the Chancellor. She is the most vocal, visible, and likely well respected member, as well as the only person trying to grow it and bring it closer to the Praxis instead of making it their own little fiefdom."

Harpy News: A Game of Thrones - House Lightbourne - April, 11, 2022

"Prince Jonathan Lightbourne of Clan Ventrue will be arriving 'soon' along with his three childe but do we seriously NEED more Ventrue in the city when the Clan is already so scattered and disorganized? Maybe Prince Lightbourne will be the one to bring some stability to the 'Clan of Kings', though rumor has it his childer don’t get along with one another, either. Get your popcorn ready, girls, if you can stand the smell. Things are about to get interesting…"

Prince Lightbourne: https://i.imgur.com/VfWsYr6.jpeg

"Speaking of Lightbourne's childe! The youngest, Bastian Fox, is going to be present at the next court where he will be giving a so-called 'slick multimedia presentation' about his Sire in order to prepare us all for the new Prince's arrival. I heard it from a good source that Bastian was embraced during the "greed is good" 80's era on Wall Street. But seriously, did you SEE the picture of him that the Ventrue Archon shared last court? He looks like quite the douche!"

Harpy News: Summer Rescinds the Throne - April, 11, 2022

"So she actually did it! Summer Hastings shocked everyone last court when she stepped down. I heard she didn’t have a choice when the Inner Council just decided to replace her. If they can replace the Prince, what’s stopping them from replacing everyone else? Well, maybe not Seneschal Crawley but who wants HIS seat?"

"So she stepped down willingly we were told. Happily we were led to believe. But things aren’t always as they appear, are they? "I hear they paid her off to leave so quietly!" "But what about her handling of the Vee situation? Because Summer failed to contain the LA vitae and created a threat to the masquerade across the country, that was reason enough for the inner council to replace her."

"Either way, it was only a matter of time before Summer was removed. Honestly, how long could a neonate - at best - hold power over a city like Los Angeles? It was prudent of her to step aside graciously. She saves most of her face, and gets quite a feather in her cap."

"Meanwhile, has anyone seen Emily Cade? She hasn’t been spotted since last court when Summer Hastings stepped down. Our fellow ‘sister’ sure had her enemies and what will they do now that her biggest protector is off the throne?"

Harpy News: Blood Hunts and Favors - November, 14, 2021

Quite the court this passed week wasn't it?

Karner Blue turns out to be a Sabbat Agent, and Isaac Abrams continues to shelter him none-the-less, even for Anarchs this behavior is entirely unreasonable. Perhaps a few of the wayward will see now the failings of their childish rebellion and come to the Tower where they belong, otherwise? Though how could we accept them with out suspicion at this point? Difficult nights indeed!

As for favors, some were grants: 2 to the Malkavian clan by our stunning Prince, for services rendered in the matter of Blue's treason and other services in maintaining the security of the praxis. And another to the Tremere for their ongoing support and efforts to maintain stability.

Some were requested as well:

  • The Hollywood Knight (and former, very briefly Primogen of the Ventrue) Grafin Gretchen Von Eisen requested the praxis cease concerns regarding boarders and leadership on the city to focus on the fight against the Sabbat and chivalry towards the helpless - which is a kind sentiment but was politely declined by her Highness
  • Keeper Harper Campbell requested Bunker Hill as her personal domain, a matter that will be considered further by Prince Hastings as well.

Oh and you're all I know, waiting with baited breath to find out which of the Harpies will rise to the position of Chancellor.... but you'll have to wait a tick longer darlings.

XOXO

Harpy Network: It's Summer Time! - September 29, 2021

"Did you hear? The Seneschel is back! And appears to be safe and well."

"After the last few nights we could use a calming voice around here."

"Did you see what she was wearing? Only the Summer could disappear and come back looking more fabulous than ever."

"If she was cattle I'd postulate that she was off getting 'work done' and this disappearance was justa cover..."
