Houses of Plenty

From LiberationMUSH Wiki
Better Is Possible

Originally started in 2016 as a means to provide cheaper, alternative housing solutions to the homeless epidemic in New Mexico, Texas Purcell has focused his talents and drive on acquiring the proper permits, financing, and support to continue the project in its fifth state.

The process is relatively simple: workers sign up, either as part of a sentencing guideline issued by a local municipality, or as day- or contracted-laborers, then put in a given amount of hours, which are logged, payroll enacted, and appropriate documentation maintained. When the group on-site have reached an agreement, the next available produced tiny-home is then awarded to the top-earning worker group, or family unit in line to receive a home. They are then given a choice: maintain contact with the Houses of Plenty and live on site, or explore their future on their own with support consisting of well-wishes, and if local, hands-on repairs and upgrades, as needed.

With dozens already signed up as full-time residents at the new site in Los Angeles, the California branch is growing by the day. Supplies stack up in the on-site warehouse, are processed by the live-in working staff, and are prepared for deployment within a week's time. As more residents continue to accrue, the output is also increasing, both in scope and scale.
