King's Club

The King's Club is a social club that focuses on the elevation of Kindred over mortals and issues of noblesse oblige. As Kings of the mortal world Kindred gather to discuss and debate pressing issues as they pass their time in leisure. The King's Club meets regularly where they hold Discussions.

A Discussion

The Story: A Discussion begins when a member of the club tells a story involving the interaction of kindred with mortals. As they tell the story other members may interject or ask questions and the storyteller is encouraged to address such reactions, or ignore them to continue the story. Members are encouraged to change the names, locations, or events of their stories in order to conceal any private information they do not feel like sharing. All stories told within the club should be assumed to be a fabrication, and told for entertainment and educational purposes and to spur debate.

Debate: Once a story is finished, all members are free to talk about or debate any interesting points from within the story, or bring up any reactions or questions they had, that was not addressed by the storyteller. They can bring up any topics related to the story they wish. Debate is encouraged. People may take any positions they wish, and even argue for position they are against. All arguments should be assumed to be made for entertainment and educational purposes, and do not reflect upon the debater's actual values.

OOC Information

The King's Club is about holding shorter and more focused events, dealing with the discussion of kindred interacting with mortals, especially from a position of having power over them. People attending events should have a 'story' planned prior to coming. These stories can be anecdotes, or made up stories. Story poses should remain fairly short so others can interject or ask questions, which is encouraged. The storyteller's may ignore comments and continue the story if they get too sidetracked. If your comments are ignored in the story phase feel free to bring them up again during the debate section.

It is encouraged for people to discuss things and get side tracked on any interesting topics brought up along the way that fits the theme of the club. Each meeting is meant to be kept short, and it is possible that one story and debate cycle takes up the entire meeting. Thus while people are encouraged to have a story in mind ahead of time, be aware that it is very likely to take several meetings before it is your turn to tell a story.
