Until that moment he had not been fully aware of his dual personality. Diego de la Vega, elegant, fastidious, hypochondriac, on the one hand, and Zorro, audacious, daring, playful, on the other. He supposed that somewhere in between was his true character, but he didn't know what he was like, if neither, or the sum of both. — Isabel Allende, El Zorro: Comienza la leyenda

A Californio man from Inland. HS equivalency from the School of Hard Knocks, Dual-BS from Caltech, MD from Harvard, PhD from Northwestern, PhD from CRI. Frequently publishes on the subjects of Engineering, Cybernetics, Materials, Robotics, Medtech, and Chemistry. He eventually left the Ivory Tower for the private sector, incorporating in California while fending off VCs and financiers to maintain personal control of his business. After a few years of working on the road, he's back in the LA area and in Academia, having accepted an Adjunct position with Caltech. He can now either be found at the Pasadena University, engaging in conjectural engineering research at Glendale Tool Company, or at his leased office space in Central LA.

- Inventor
- In the Da Vinci/von Kempelen/Franklin mold. He enjoys seeing other peoples' creations, and has learned to take their temperature vis-a-vis criticism before suggesting improvements.
- Professor
- He's an Adjunct Professor of Medical Engineering at Caltech, and directs education initiatives for the Glendale Tool Company NPO.
- Industrialist
- A bit of a misnomer, as he is not presently directly employing industrial-scale labor. But he has full-time employment opportunities for engineers, designers/architects, technical writers, drafters, researchers, and technicians, as well as support staff.
- Medicine
- He is neither board certified nor registered with the DEA (so he can't write you scripts), but he's still an MD, so he's got that going for him.
- Omnidisciplinary
- If he's not read up at a professional level in your field, he's likely at least conversant in it. Conspicuous exception: Economics.
- Weirdo
- Present him with a problem, receive a creative/unfeasible solution.

Headquartered in a Central LA technology park, MXC is a young engineering and design firm presently focused on electrical storage, transmission, and generation. Their flagship product is the CAu₁ battery, a low-voltage, ultra-high density rechargeable cell that's starting to appear in consumer electronics and is slated for approval in medical devices. Due to the founder's reluctance to accept new capital investments, they lack their own fabrication facilities, so most production work is done by contractors (with contracts exclusively awarded to Union shops). MXC's primary output is technical designs, patents and licensing thereof, and consultancy. They have built large-scale mechanical and thermoelectric storage solutions for solar and wind powerplants across the Southwest, provided power plant expertise to electrical vehicle manufacturers, and have recently released a photovoltaic fabric -- Solar Sailcloth. CAu₂ is reportedly under development.
El Jefe is very wary of the risk of espionage, and has implemented legal, technical, and social countermeasures against such. Employees are not only discouraged from working off-premises and outside business hours (the rare 'crunch' notwithstanding),they are expressly and technologically prevented from taking any equipment, documentation, or materials that would enable them to do so, with NDAed secretarial staff cleaning whiteboards and locking away loose documents at the end of every day before janitorial staff arrives. A knock-on effect of these policies is generally good morale and a prideful corporate culture that is characterized by their office park neighbors as 'smug secrecy'.

A collection of articles and papers listing Dr. Renaldo De Leon as an author or contributor, typically appearing in scholarly journals or public interest magazines with a science or technology focus (With associated Skill(s) and/or Knowledge(s)). He is not himself a skilled writer, so there's a notable improvement in quality and accessibility when he has collaborators or a knowledgeable editor. Works which extend, elaborate on, or dispute these publications are not listed. Works which have been withdrawn from publication are not listed.
