"See a nigga like myself ain't goin out like that
Because I found that it pays to pack a gat
In the city where surival is a full-time job black
And it ain't givin nuttin back"
- DJ Quik "Quik Is The Name" (1991)

Born on Mar 21 1989. Grew up in 104 Hard Time Hustler Crip territory, because his Dad was a member. His Dad was never really a part of his life because of it, and even left his Mother at a young age (8.) Contact was frosty after that. His Mother worked at a grocery store, at least that was her last job. She worked menial jobs for a while, just to keep herself and her son afloat. When he was 14, he and his Mother moved to Inglewood. He was now in the territory of his Father's enemies, the Inglewood Family Gangster Bloods. This would get him into fights, and get him to be messed with. After a while, he figured the only thing he could do was join them. He didn't care for his Father anyway, so why not join his Father's enemies?
2 years after moving to Inglewood, his Father was killed in a drive-by shooting at a party. Rico wasn't a part of it, but as far as he's concerned, he doesn't really miss him. Rico started resorting to drug dealing, being a part of the gang's activities and all. Even his own mother told him he'd be better off selling drugs than working a 9 to 5 to be disrespected for little pay. It was probably her venting from bad days at work, but Rico took it all to heart. As much as his Mother didn't like it, he was helping around the house with his money. It was sad to her, because she was trying for a better life for him.
When he was 18, however, his house was hit when he was gone. His Mother was killed by some of the gunfire while she was sitting in her living room watching television. This shattered his mind. From then on, he just started to seem like he didn't have any feelings anymore. He wanted revenge. The people who were responsible? They aren't here anymore and when asked about it, his only response is "God works in mysterious ways."
Not long after his Mother was killed, he was busted for armed robbery and did some time in the pen. Time in the pen only made him angrier, and motivated him. When he got out, he just did more dirt, put in more work, until he rose up in the ranks as a leader. A shot caller. Sure, the Bloods aren't as organized as other crime groups, but Rico's earned respect and others will actually listen to him when it comes to making some moves.
He even tried his hand, at one point, to become a rapper. Under his street name "Rico B" he released an album called "How I Was Raised." It didn't do well commercially, but in certain blocks it was a hit, especially amongst other Bloods. He gave up on music, however.
