Silas Black was born to British parents – a businessman and a socialite – in Hong Kong in 1992. But ahead of the handover of Hong Kong, they relocated to Singapore. This is where Silas grew up, attending the most prestigious of British schools. Upon graduation, he studied economics at Oxford before returning home.
With a few of his closest friends, he helped develop a start-up promoting green architecture throughout Singapore. But a couple years ago, he lost his friends in an accident that also left him with a permanent limp. With nothing left for him in Singapore, he began to travel.
Though independently wealthy, he continues to offer his services as a consultant, ever keen to cultivate opportunities for green architecture to flourish in cities around the world. He appears to have settled in Los Angeles for the long run where he seeks to pursue new projects and enjoy local flavors.

- Local Flavors: Since arriving in LA, Silas has been keen to take in the local sights and sounds – and he has been especially keen to try the food. He can be found all throughout the city trying a new restaurant or revisiting a current favorite. And he is always keen to meet a charming local interested in showing him something new.
- Green Architecture: Though some might not see it, Silas knows there’s a strong market for green architecture and cultivating green spaces throughout cities. There doesn’t have to be a trade-off with profit, and he knows how to make the numbers show it. Though his own start-up days might be behind him, he still offers his services as a freelance consultant.
- Oxford Alumni: Silas studied economics at Oxford from 2010 to 2014. Though serious about his studies, he always made time for cultivating connections and friendships among the students and fellows, and even some of the professors.

- Sept Truthcatcher: Silas has devoted himself to the Sept of the Smiling Angel in serving as its Truthcatcher. If there are issues to resolve or knots to untangle, he is one to contact. He acts as a combination of judge and jury in settling disputes between Septmates as well as Lawyer when Garou find themselves accused of more grievous violations of the Litany.
- City Farmer: Some might be surprised to discover Silas aligns with the City Farmers at first blush. However, the achievements made in Singapore, where certified green buildings account for more than a fifth of the floor area of the island, have caught the attention of many City Farmers. A few might have heard that Silas was instrumental in making the economic case for green architecture and other emerging technologies.
- Pack Philodox: What also might come as a shock is that this Glass Walker is a loyal member of the Black Coil Pack. Some might find him to be more approachable and grounded than the Pack's Alpha or Enigmatic Patron Totem.
- Trauma: There are few in the Sept that haven’t heard about Silas’ capture. He endured weeks of torture until his pack was able to locate him and rally a rescue mission into enemy territory. But that isn’t even the reason he walks with a limp. He arrived like that. He is on a slow path of healing but also seeks vengeance against both the Pentex Hydra and Black Spirals that tormented him.
