Biography Mortal Life: Cordelia was born in Washington, DC, the scion of a wealthy, well-connected family with strong political ties. She grew up wanting for nothing, her family's reach and affluence affording a lifestyle that provided no shortage of opportunities. She made good grades, though not always on her own merit, filling in the gaps in her interests and capabilities by finding others to do the work for her. Even as a teenager, she wielded a sense of self-possession and confidence that put grown men to shame, never allowing anyone or anything to get in the way of what she wanted. That, plus a proclivity for anger, made her an exceptionally fearsome athlete, the girl dabbling in a variety of prep school sports but truly excelling in Fencing. One night, on their way back from a tournament, Cordelia and her teammates were attacked by what authorities presumed to be armed Satanists. The school bus was run off the road, resulting in a horrific display of violence that left nine students dead, three wounded, and four more missing entirely. Cordelia was one of the only survivors. While the nation reeled, the local Camarilla sought to preserve the Masquerade. In the course of playing clean-up, Cordelia was discovered by her sire, the DC-base Tremere Regent and lead Harpy Helena Taylor. Kindred Life: Cordelia spent the next five years as a ghoul, earning her place within the DC chantry and Court while closely shadowing her sire. While many Kindred struggle to find themselves after transitioning from mortal to monster, Cordelia adapted with shocking ease. She raced her way up through the Pyramid, her unshakable confidence, hubris, and competitive nature seeing her step over her fellow Apprentices in the same way she once stepped over her fellow students. If there was something she couldn't get or grasp, she'd find someone to show her how until she could do it just as well, if not better, than them. If she broke any rules along the way, she was clever enough or thorough enough not to get caught. Everything changed when the Sabbat hit DC in 1999. Cordelia's sire was killed, the local Court turned upside down, and the neonate, already brimming with anger, succumbed to visceral outrage. Having known and admired her sire, Justicar (then Archon) Ian Carfax offered to take Cordelia in as a protege. Despite his proclivity for capes and stylish dramatics, he and the angry but ambitious Warlock clicked exceptionally well, her abilities with a sword -- not exactly a common pastime in this day and age -- garnering his respect and approval. She traveled with him for the better part of a decade, earning a name for herself in the process. Eventually, Carfax's duties returned him to Europe and Cordelia stayed behind in New York, working with Tremere Regent Aisling Sturbridge to combat the encroaching Sabbat presence. Most recently, Ian Carfax has found himself increasingly bogged down in the Twin Cities. With mounting tension in Los Angeles, he decided to name Cordelia Archon, giving her the chance to do what she's always wanted: lead a concentrated coalition against the Sabbat.
