Son of a Tuskegee Airmen WWII veteran Earl Lane. Earl moved to New Orleans when his wife Dorothy was pregnant with Duke and started up a flight school with a pair of other veteran fighter pilots. Eventually would expand in parcel, air mail and passenger delivery business and later become Bayou Airlines. In the post-war era business was booming. Duke grew up in a household with money to spare.
Duke idolized his father and was always driven to make him proud. After numerous beatings and bullying by whites and blacks, jealous of his families' burgeoning wealth, Duke took to being very quick on his feet, running when he could and using his fists when he couldn't. He ended up taking very well to boxing and was an exceptional young amateur. His fluidity and grace in the ring would garner him the attention from his one-day Sire, Martin Beausejour.
After training full-time for three years Martin's patronage, he put on a serious amount of weight. Before he could go Pro, however, the Vietnam Draft Lottery was held and Duke's birthday selected. Seeking to follow in his father's footsteps, Duke refused his Sire's adamant stance that he dodge the draft. After Duke's rebuttal and refusal, Martin frenzied, attacked and drained Duke. Not willing to lose such a physical specimen and prodigy, Duke was embraced and brought back.
Since then, Duke's Sire lost interest in a fighter that couldn't display his craft in the ring and moved to Paris. Duke moved to LA for a time to the Studio City area. After going to Seattle to help deal with the Anarch revolt in the pacific Northwest, Duke finalized the sale of his shares in a startup venture he helped to find called 'Starbucks'. As well, Bayou Airlines was bought out by Amazon.com in a stock swap. Duke now returns to LA and Studio City to settle down and enjoy his unlife as a very wealthy citizen.
