The Place
330 Alameda St. is a large warehouse that was formerly occupied by a VFX studio that worked for Hollywood but didn't work out. Heavily soundproofed, the building is completely silent once closed, sealing the outside world out and providing a peaceful repose for anyone indoors. Completely separated from the local grid, constant power is provided by several racks of solar panels hidden by the parapet surrounding the perimeter of the roof during the day and a battery the size of a small van in the warehouse. With the building at full capacity, it could provide power for three days without sunlight. With just Logan? Probably two weeks at minimum. Water is provided by rainwater in rooftop tanks and purified by a reverse osmosis system. Loads better than Los Angeles' drinking water.
The majority of the building is vacant and closed off, with plastic covering doorways and A/C dampers shut to keep costs minimal, but two main areas are used on a near constant basis - the Living Quarters and the Warehouse.
Where things get done, the warehouse is the more public part of the private building. Space that was once taken up by shelves and storage has been converted to indoor parking for a couple of vehicles, a small, locked armory, and a well-stocked medical suite. This suite, separated by a low wall, has a couple of surgical tables and lights, an X-ray machine, and a locked drug cabinet, all covered in sheets of clear plastic to be kept dust free and mostly sterile, ready to be used 'just in case.'
The Living Area area is mostly vacant, with decent-sized offices surrounding a large open area. A few battered couches are arranged in a circle around a couple of coffee tables to make an impromptu conversation pit, with a few pinball machines and a copy of Ms. Pac Man against the far wall for entertainment. Several vacant offices are here, each one easily able to be converted into bedrooms or additional storage, along with a large kitchen, laundry room, and a locker-room style bathroom with showers. It's not the Ritz Carlton, but it's better than a tent on the street.
OOC NOTE: The Last Resort has extensive security, is stated as a base of operations and not widely known outside of the kinfolk community. If you have any questions at all as to if you should know of this place please contact Logan, Tink or Sundance
The People
The Last Resort isn't just the structure, but the people that frequent the place who have created their own rag tag 'found family' to be able to survive the constant barrage of disasters thrown at them.
