Jacen was born and spent his early years in Los Angeles. He eventually attended Columbia University on a full scholarship, eventually graduating with a Doctorate in Philosophy of Psychiatry. Working primarily in academia after his education, he appears to have lived a mostly quiet life working with students. A two-year hiatus for 'personal reasons' has culminated with a move to Los Angeles
