Hightower
Born and raised in San Diego in 1960. In 1964, he and his father attended a speech by Martin Luther King Jr. at San Diego State College as he spoke against a California Bill that would repeal California’s Rumford Fair Housing Act, which prohibited racial and religious discrimination by property owners. The bill failed. In 1965, Malcolm X died. In 1968, the San Diego Black Panther Chapter was formed and his father was a founding member. Damien would later also join and once out of San Diego State University with a Major in Political Science, he became an outspoken and popular/maligned radio DJ in the mid 80s.
He met then Anarch Tara Kearney in 1988. She had been watching him (and over him) for a couple years, drawn to his yearning for institutional change and drive to end racism, diplomatically or violently, which spoke to her own Brujah yearnings. The pair got along famously well and later that year, she took him into her service as her Ghoul and after grooming him for five-plus years, he was Embraced in 1994. In Mid-1998, Tara used the Quincunx invasion of San Diego and the weakening of the Anarchs to complete her long-planned revolt to seize the Praxis of San Diego for, and joined, the Camarilla as Prince of San Diego.
Damien worked behind-the-scenes on behalf of Tara, working to keep the other Clans toeing the line, be it diplomatically or not-so. Damien has remained a staunch ally of his Sire and has continued to learn from her through the years. In 2007, he was sent to Los Angeles to keep an eye on the Quincunx, to put down his own roots and to help the Praxis if needed. Damien spent most of his time spreading his influence among the trade Unions. Through his ties and his Ghoul Chloe, a prominent figure in both the LiUNA Local 300 and the UNITE HERE Local 11 boards, he holds significant influence in the Construction, Maintenance, Plants, Hotels, Restaurants and Airport Unions. He also has opened his own construction company, Hightower Construction, the-day-to-day operations being handled by his Ghoul, Chloe.
In 2016, Prince Altamirana appeared to have things well under control and with a new Brujah Primogen, a Brujah Sheriff and the Westside Anarch population growth curtailed, and the Quincunx having their hands full with the Gui Ren taking bites out of Chinatown, Damien was recalled to San Diego. He, or Chloe would commute monthly to and from Los Angeles while he dealt with more pressing matters with his Sire. However, recently more disturbing reports from Los Angeles has been making its way through the Harpies and Damien has once again been dispatched to keep an eye on the situation and offer assistance to the Camarilla and their Allies....current, or future.
