Khadijah passed out flyers lst night to those who could make it, inviting everyone to meet at the Hotel Ziggy in West Hollywood -- a trendy, boutique hotel situated on the Sunset Strip that celebrates gritty, rebellious music and the people who adore it. Karner's invite indicated he should arrive a few minutes later than the group. A sneaky way to surprise him! Okay... it's not -that- sneaky, but allows everyone to yell 'surprise!' when he shows up at the lounge.

Karner isn't a frequent visitor to this particular locale, although he is occasionally to be found in WeHo. He'll sometimes go to parties he's invited to, even. And tonight, he's wearing a slim, long-line black jumpsuit. The jumpsuit has a sharp, simple vee-neck with no collar, pleated trousers, and hems that break just over his polished black shoes. Over the top, he wears a short, translucent blue jacket with wide lapels, sleeves, and cuffs. His winged, mirrored sunglasses are the same shade of blue.
The funny thing about Karner Blue is that he doesn't startle easily, or at least, he doesn't /appear/ to startle easily. So when he walks into the lounge, engaged in active conversation on his phone, to find people there yelling "Surprise!," well. First of all, he looks over this shoulder. Did he walk into something? And when that doesn't appear to be the case, he says sedately over the phone: "Leland, I'll have to call you back," and then slips the phone back into his pocket, staring around with eyebrows raised. "Good heavens," he says mildly. "Surely this isn't pour moi..."

Sure, Theodore will go along with the surprise party. When Karner arrives he is with them yelling at the poor guy, even if he doesn't quite understand the purpose behind it. His attention lingers on the birthday boy in question for a bit longer before leaning in to the nearest to him and asking, "Do we even continue to have birthdays?" None the less he joins everybody else in the applause for Karner. <English>
---<Jack Scar>--------------- The surprise-party concept is lost on Jack, but the party one's not. He shows up with his coffin-shaped fiddle-case slung over one shoulder and a bottle of scotch in the other hand. Hard to say for whom. He misses the shout of surprise, and comes in late with an inarticulate huzzah.

It is rather unusual to fete this particular event in a vampire's unlife... but then, Karner Blue is rather unusual. When he walks in, Hall is already there, like the others that Khadijah has gathered for the evening. He's glaring in the general direction of the entrance. "No, that 'surprise' was for the person behind you, Karner," he says. A cutting line that is totally ruined when someone else, namely Jack Scar, really does come in behind Karner just then.

Angelica is one of the early birds tonight, wanting to stop by for the surprise party as it's been a few weeks (a month?) since she's seen Karner, or anybody, for whatever reason. For one thing, Karner has a publicly known birthday, April 11th. Of course, it all could be a lie, and who knows if his public birth year is true, either -- chances are it isn't true. But he looks behind at Jack anyway and says with a grin, "Is it your birthday as well, Jack? It's the only ostensible reason why anyone would be throwing /me/ a party around now." He looks back at the assembled, gesturing broadly to them. "I already had a party for my deathday, which happens to be just a little before Halloween." Some folks here might remember his big Halloween bash, although plenty might not. Not everyone was invited. "This is /very/ sweet. Which of you organized this?" Grinning his big grin, he glances around at everyone here.
---<Jack Scar>--------------- Jack Scar blinks, bemused, and waves the bottle cheerily. He says to Karner, "I no think so, but is possible. I am no really the sort of person who has birthday. I am born ees spring, or early in the summer-time, I remember me sister tells me." He shrugs, shakes his head. "Is more likely death-day is match, maybe." For a moment this makes him frown, but then he laughs.

"It was me. But all I did was make a couple calls." Khadijah offers with a laugh. And, after everyone has had a chance to wish Karner a happy birthday in whatever way works for them, Khadijah stands up on one of the tables (much to the management's dismay) and taps on a glass with a knife. "Can I have everyone's attention please! In honor of the birthday boy here, we're going to have a little fun tonight. Instead of 'just' a party, I'm proposing we do a scavenger hunt party! I'm going to give you all six items to hunt at different locations around Hollywood. You can work together as a big team and at 3:30am we'll call time. If you manage to get four to six items, I'll be floored," she laughs, "and will offer everyone a custom 'victory' ring from the Lux shop. If you get between 0 and 3 items, you win $25 each and a 'thank you' smooch from Karner." Khadijah takes a moment to locate Karner in the group and gives him a smirk along with an enthusiastic thumbs-up.
The Ventrue then passes out a sheet of paper to each participant. "These are the items you'll be hunting, and the rules. Yes, I know most of you are Anarchs but tonight there are a few rules..." The middle-easter girl snickers, then continues. "Take a look at both lists and ask me questions now before you start as I will be waiting for you here at 3:30 am to count the loot and see how you did. I will be reachable by text if you come across other questions or problems along the way." She then nods. "Questions?" And then almost as an afterthought, Khadijah adds. "Mr. Blue, it's not too late to opt out of the hunt and just have a party instead. I rented out the salt-water pool area for a private party, just in case. So we totally leave it up to you."

RULES
- Google searches are allowed, but but more difficult if you don't know how to use a computer
- Items cannot be purchased with money, but you can beg, borrow, barter or steal them.
- Magic/Disciplines/Influence/etc. aids are all fair game but cannot be repeated. Each aid can only be used once over the course of the night. However, If more than one person has the same aid, each person is allowed to use theirs once.
- Getting arrested gets you disqualified.
- No masque breaches. Clean up after yourselves!
- Items will be returned if you don't feel comfortable keeping them.

"Well, the calendar doesn't stop," Hall replies to Theodore, drily. After Angelica elbows him gently for his perhaps rude birthday greeting, he blinks at her. "What?" But then Khadijah launches into explaining the scavenger hunt, and he shuts up again so that he can listen to what she has planned for Karner's big 'day.'

Karner lets out one of his patented hyena laughs at the mention of the 'thank you' smooch. He's sure to give Khadijah not just air kisses, but actual both-cheek kisses before she gets up on the table, and he listens to her idea. "Well, now, that's unexpected," he says, chuckling a bit more. "It sounds like you put considerable work into this, darling. We may as well give it a try. I do hope I get to choose the first item, however." He says this as he peruses the list, nodding to himself, and points to the item. "Swiping a leather jacket from the Viper Room should be as easy as walking inside. There's no description of what kind of leather jacket it must be, and on any given day, that place could very well have dozens."
---<Jack Scar>--------------- Jack Scar peers over the list, says, "I am no knowing what half these things are." He laughs. "Is a time once I am making a game like this, for Christmas in Paris, but is only fur coats." He shakes his head, amused.

Bartok looks at the list of items. He has fairly High Area Knowledge, specifically of the Hollywood Domain. Perhaps he knows where some of these items are already...

Khadijah's eyes go big as Jack explains. "You scavenger hunted for fur coats in Paris? That must have been something." She grins at him and then nods to Karner. "The leather jacket it is. That might be the easiest one... I guess you'll find out! How will you get there? I was going to get you a limo but I figured you might not want to be so conspicuous for this. It's not too late though..."

Angelica just gives Hall a big ol' grin in response to his 'what?' and then her eyes are on Khadijah as she calls everyone to attention. She quiets down, listening and then taking the list gently to which she says softly 'thank you' in response. She looks over the list and hmms softly to herself. There's a moment where she turns to Jack Scar, recalling him from many nights ago, and she says to him, "Maybe we can help each other out?" She suggests.

Karner suggests starting with the jacket, and Hall shrugs. "Sure." After Jack Scar mentions scavenging Paris for fur coats for Christmas, who knows how many long years ago, he glances over at the little pirate. "You get it, then." But then Angelica offers to help, and he half-smiles her way before his attention moves back to Karner and Khadijah, who appear to be deciding on the transportation for this game.

Hanging back a bit, Theodore observes the 'youngsters' as they are preparing for the scavenger hunt. His attention dances over them, grouping up and talking about helping each other out to find the items. Reaching for his inner jacket pocket, the Setite draws out his silver flask to open it and take a sip. His attention also snaps to Khadijah when she tries to get their attention.

"Because I'm so inconspicuous, Khadijah? A limo is fine. I never use them, normally, and we'll all fit inside one," Karner says with a grin, glancing at Jack. "Although hunting for fur coats in Paris /does/ sound rather divine." Glancing to Angie as well, he adds, "I thought we're all helping each other, my dear? One big holly, jolly family! Oh, what a fun and funny time."
---<Jack Scar>--------------- Jack Scar shrugs, "Okay, you take me there, I get jacket," he says. "In Paris we are, ah, making contest, whoe'er is bringing back finest pelt is winner of fox-hunt. Then we are sell them at auction and give money in poor-box, and coats as well, like as no." He grins at Anjelica, "Si, we all play together. Or I am no getting far at all, who zhe fuck is Toto?"

Angelica pauses, turning to Karner and smirking, "I thought we were playing against each other to win your smooches, but I get it now." A glance back to Scar, and she grins. "The little dog from The Wizard of Oz." ---<Schultz>--------------- Schultz emerges from the back of the venue, phone in hand. His brows lift and his jaw drops in surprise and then he shoots an annoyed look to his phone, as though it's *its* fault that he was not in the room for the surprise. "Well... surprise! I'm here too!" he announces, before making his way forward, tucking his phone into a black-trimmed, burgundy smoking jacket-inspired suit jacket. He sports classic colours beneath - a white dress shirt, a black tie and charcoal slacks. "Happy whatever-day it is for you, Karner my man," he adds as he approaches. He spares smiles and nods, greeting those he knows.

"I mean, my kisses /should/ be first prize, darling," Karner says to Angelica with a grin, and when Schultz comes in, he gets that same grin, though perhaps taken down a slight notch. "Ah, thank you very much, Schultzy. Will you be participating in this little scavenger hunt Khadijah's dreamt up? Very imaginative, mind you." He notes Theo's flask, and removes a blue one of his own from somewhere within the confines of his clothing. Incidentally, Karner wears a slim, long-line black jumpsuit. So the group arrives at the Viper Room which turns out to be not far down Sunset. It's a 24/7 club, +21 to get in and is infamous for River Phoenix's overdose, along with Australian singer and actor Jason Donovan who suffered a drug-induced seizure and Australian rock star Michael Hutchence, who played his last public performance a week before his suicide here. It's had some moments for sure.
There is a line outside, of course, and two big bouncers at the front who aren't wearing leather jackets. As luck would have it, one of the guys standing in line is wearing one, a tall, lanky, spikey haired guy. The jacket has metal spike-studs and a rather intricate skull painted on the back. No doubt there are others inside the club wearing jackets, perhaps easier marks where it's dark and such. But that would mean getting inside, and the line doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast.

With his attention somewhat on Karner, there is a brief smile and the dark skinned man lifts his flask toward the Malkavian in salute. He takes a drink and replaces the lid, slipping it back into his inner jacket pocket from whence it came. He nods to Schultz as he arrives fashionably late. Theodore has James drive him, following along with the group, because why not be part of this. It surely will turn out to be somewhat amusing, right?
<OOC> Karner says, "So Theo, you're traveling separately?" <OOC> Karner says, "And Robbie is too. Well that's fine I'm sure, lol" <OOC> Bartok says, "Robbie is flying over the limo."
---<Schultz>--------------- Schultz answers Karner, with a smile that shows now diminishment when talking to Karner. "Oh, yes, you know, us stuffy Tower folk have to stick together, you know. Even if she *insists* on being creative. Frowned upon by us drones, but you know," he adds with a wave of his hand, flashing a ready smile at that. And then he is content to make his way along with the rest of the group. Even if it means having to walk. Otherwise, he has Jerome and his own vehicle, that will follow along if Schultz makes other arrangements.

---<Jack Scar>--------------- Jack Scar looks out the limo's windows at the line, says, "What is happen inside that everybody wants to see? I am imagine a jack from outside is no counting?"

"There may be a band playing tonight, Jack, or people just want to say they've been in Johnny Depp's club -- either way, it's often like this here." Karner is perfectly content to use the limo that Khadijah has provided for literally a few blocks -- the true LA way. He steps out and takes a good, long look at the crowd. If Hall has gotten out of the crowd, then Karner will push him gently toward the dude with the awesome jacket. "Well, Ashley -- why don't you use your awesome powers of persuasion on that gentleman there, hmm? Just tell him you need to borrow his jacket for something and will give it back later." Around that time, a few people on line seem to realize that Karner's there and start calling out to him, because Hollywood.
<OOC> Khadijah says, "oh and limo noted. it may be a factor if you have to get away from anything quickly. MWA HA HA HA" <OOC> Karner leaps into Robbie's arms and helicopters away!

Earlier, Hall laughed at Angelica's joke about the Game. He puzzles over whatever it was that Bartok handed off to him for a moment before he looks up again at Jack's question. "I, uh. Guess that's up to Khadijah," he says, re: whether the leather jacket has to be on somebody inside the Viper Room as opposed to a bouncer outside. But when Karner tries to push him towards the bouncer, he resists, digging his heels into the sidewalk and scowling. "What are you talking about?" he demands. "Jack said that he was going to get this one."

The dark-haired spikey guy in the leather looks over at Karner with interest. Seems he might recognise him, but resists calling out to him. Either he doesn't want to bother a celebrity, or he isn't quite sure which celebrity it is.
---<Jack Scar>--------------- Jack Scar waves at the guy, sticking his arm out the limo window and trying to gesture him over.
---<Schultz>---------------
Schultz remains near the limo, leaning back against it with one ankle crossed over the other and his arms folded across his chest. He watches the others for a moment, content to be a wallflower for the moment, glancing toward Hall, with the same muted interest one might have for a baseball player taking to the plate.
---<Angelica>---------------
Angelica smiles, happy to see Hall gets the whole reference to The Game, which is lost again now. She piles into the limo and when it's time to get the first item, the leather jacket, Angelica moves to Hall's side and suggests something. She tries to be quiet enough for those only in the group to hear, "We should have him give it to us for like... a video I'm going to do or something. I could totally use it for one of my videos."

In a comical fashion, the guy sees Jack and looks to the left, then to the right, before a surprised look comes over him and me points to himself mouthing 'ME?'. Perhaps it's the limo, perhaps it was the vision of Karner, but he does look tempted. And yet he doesn't. "Come over here, man, I don't want to lose my place in line!"

As the troupe of vampires close in on the location, Bartok remains outside. He circles above and out of sight like a grim vulture riding on thermals.

Karner clucks his tongue. "There's no rule that says that Jack has to do this one, and it's /my/ birthday." He leans in to hear what Angelica says, and then smiles at her. "Why, what a grand idea that is." When the guy actually reacts to Jack, Karner encourages them both. "Jack, Angie, you two go together. If you need more help, call me over. Go on, go on, time's a-wastin', as they say." It seems he can't help but 'direct' even when something is supposedly in honor of himself, oops.
---<Hall>---------------
Hall agrees with Karner about at least one thing. "That's a good idea," he tells Angelica. He doesn't appear to be in any hurry to coax, wheedle, or command the jacket off of this guy. But he does note, glancing over at the man with the skull design on the back of his jacket and then back at the others, "He seems, uh. Keen to meet Karner, too."

Angelica smiles brightly up at Hall, then glances to Karner as she realizes what Hall spoke as well. This man really does seem like he wants to talk to Karner. "Seems like he wants you to come over, birthday boy." She waves, trying to encourage him over so the 3 of them can borrow this jacket.
---<Jack Scar>--------------- Jack Scar starts to amble over towards the spikey guy, glances back at Hall and turns a gold-checkered grin to skull-back as well, and waves his bottle at him, another 'come over here' gesture. His grin is sloppy and he manages to look drunk in spite of the fact that the bottle's still sealed.
---<Karner>---------------
"Fine, fine, I'm coming, too." Karner makes his way over to the fellow as well, but he doesn't speak just yet. No doubt he could run this whole show if he wanted to, but he seems interested to see how Angelica and Jack will handle this. He pulls out the flask again and takes a swig, glancing over his shoulder to see where the other vampires, and maybe the gargoyle, have ended up.

Meanwhile, the girl that seems to be with leather-jack guy suddenly points at Karner! She turns to whisper to him, pointing again in a very excited state. "It's him! I know it's him. That director dude... Something Blue." The guy nods a couple times, also excited. "Dude! They want me to go over there! Hold my place, okay? I can't -imagine- what this is for!" He ducks under the blue velvet rope and ambles over, trying to keep it cool. "Heyyy, what's up my man?" He speaks to Jack directly, since he invited him over, but keeps glancing over at Karner.

From the Escalade, Theodore has been watching the entire time. Observing the group gathering to go try getting the leather jacket, the Setite finally opens the door and steps out. He is here for moral support apparently. If Karner spots him, he gives a tip of his head, a small nod of encouragement.
---<Schultz>--------------- Schultz remains where he was, arms folded across his chest, watching from the side of the limo. He keeps his distance, unabashedly observing without approaching.

---<Jack Scar>--------------- "Want a drink?" asks Jack, waving the bottle at the guy. Jack's dressed the same as always, barefoot and slightly ragged but clean, and does not look like a celebrity-handler. But it's not cheap scotch, either. Not top shelf, but not cheap. "What is show inside?" He asks. "Is band?"
---<Khadijah>---------------
"A drink? Seriously?" The guy looks back at the girl and she is nodding with a stupid grin on her face. "Yeah, okay..." He accepts the offered bottle and takes a couple swigs. "What are you guys... up to tonight?" It seems like the group is a group anyway, in his eyes. He keeps glancing over at Karner, though he's trying to be sly about it. "Uhhh... Nine Mile Station, Left of the Slash, Emerald Street and Hannah Cutt. Good shit, man. You guys coming in? You'll probably go right to the front of the line."

Like Theo and Schultz, Hall waits to one side. He appears to be sitting this one out and watching. At some point, he frowns and mutters something under his breath.

And indeed, the two bouncers seem to be eyeing the limo group, as if they're expecting them to step right up in front of everyone... See? Limos pay off.
---<Angelica>---------------
Angelica is quiet for a moment while the guy approaches, glancing to Jack to see what he's going to do. A drink is offered and he accepts it. Good. He's liquored up a bit. Maybe he'll be more open to it. "We're just hanging out..." She starts off. "... But I'm actually in the process of filming this Zombie Apocalypse RP ASMR video, and I took note of your jacket and was wondering if maybe I could borrow it for the video? It's going to take some time, but I'll have it back to you soon!" She smiles sweetly.
---<Jack Scar>--------------- Jack Scar shrugs, "Why no," says Jack, using his now bottle-less hand to pull a rather greasy-looking leather-covered notebook from his pocket, the sort of thing people who carry overpriced moleskin journals around wish they had, but also kind of gross. He takes a stub of pencil and asks the guy, "What ees address?"

Karner gives Theo a wry little smile, and Schultz and Hall, too. He takes a few steps closer, putting a hand on Angelica's shoulder. "I endorse Angelica's channel strongly, though you've probably heard of it." Oh no! He doesn't know the name, and he grins at Angelica like he expects her to say what it is. "Your jacket would be perfect for her video, really. Did you...embellish it yourself?"

The request for his address seems to set leather jacket guy off just a bit. He looks at Jack dubiously. But his attention is snapped over to Karner as he speaks, and then to... "Angelica! I knew I knew you from somewhere! That's so rad -- you do the raddest stuff!" He grins at her, right up til she asks for the jacket. "Uhhh... my girlfriend over there made it for me. She'd -never- approve." And then he's turning to said gf and motioning her over. She asks someone else to hold their places then RUNS over, breathless as she gets there. "They want to borrow my jacket..." The girl looks at Angelica and a light goes off. "I know you! Your stuff is rad!" The guy chuckles. "That's what 'I' said." Obviously they're meant for each other. "What for?" She asks. "Are you paying for it?"
<OOC> Khadijah says, "I like that nobody has said "It's a scavenger hunt" that would be too easy. Let's make another rule: no divulging that it's a game. :D :D :D" <OOC> Angelica nodnods! <3

While the jacket business goes on, Hall takes his phone out and pulls up a map. He studies it briefly, dragging it around and resizing it, then crosses the little remaining distance to stand closer to Schultz and Theo. He shows them the map. "Look," he says. "The Alta Cienega Motel is the next closest location. The Hollywood Museum, Hollywood Forever, and the Museum of Death are all, uh. East of here. But... the California Institute of Abnormal Arts, that's -- /way/ up in North Hollywood." The tip of his finger moves over the screen, drawing out the distance. "If anyone's going to split off, that. Might be a good one to send someone after." And he glances up at the sky, as though to suggest that someone who can travel very quickly and who doesn't have to worry about traffic might be an especially good candidate for such a far-ranging side quest.
---<Jack Scar>--------------- Jack Scar grins his cheery grin at the guy. "Address so we are sending boy around to bring her back after, when is done, eh, fuck, I am forget English, is film made."

"My production company will cover it, if money is an issue," Karner says to the guy and his girlfriend. "I'll write you a check. What do you want for it?" He looks it over. "$300? $400?" Spoken like someone to whom that amount of money is surely no object, right? While this is going on, he glances over to where Hall is with the others, a curious tilt to his head briefly before he returns his attention to the people around him.

Leaning over to check the screen as Hall presents it, the Setite considers for a moment. SHaking his head he remarks, "Too far, and I am not familiar enough with the location...or I could pop over there and back real quick." Casting a glance at Hall, he shrugs just a bit. "I do hope it doesn't take an hour to go twenty five miles...that seems rather upsetting to me." says the dark skinned man. <English>

Angelica sees he's set off for a little bit, due to the address thing. Angelica seems to get the cue, chiming in, "AngelicWhispers." But, as she sees, they already know and she gasps. "Oh it's so wonderful to meet fans of mine!" She then answers, "Well, I'm doing a Zombie Apocalypse ASMR-P video where I'm going to play as this character named Amy." It's true, it's something she's been tweeting about since a few months ago. It's against the rules of this hunt, and also to tell them it -is- a hunt. Hunt... Hunt. This is almost like feeding, in a way. Good thing she's not hungry.

There is, but. Not like the traffic on Sunset, that's for sure. As for Schultz's comment about wanting a helicopter and somewhere to park it, he seems intrigued by that idea, but before he can respond, he gets distracted by the conversation going on about the jacket over there in the line to get into the Viper Room.

The guy looks at Karner and takes in the persuasive words being used on him. He nods thoughtfully and whispers to his gf. She nods too, but slower and more cautiously. "Hey, you know, let's say $1,000 deposit. Just in case, right? Things get lost on set, you know? I put a lot of effort into the piece," Now it's been elevated to a 'piece'. "...and we don't want to lose it." But then Angelica steps in. In this moment, her words seem to carry a lot of weight with the couple as they can appreciate her logic, as well as Karner's. Finally the gf relents. "Okay, okay, y'all can borrow it. Okay? But it better be back to us soon. Can we get someone's business card so we can track it if necessary?" AS she speaks, he's shedding off the coat and handing it to Angelica. "Quick, the line is moving, we're going to miss the warm up band." As soon as they receive someone's BC, they are off.

He seems reasonably pleased they have the jacket now, although he is already checking the list once again. "We've sent Robbie after the monkey's paw. The Alta Cienaga is next, it's closest -- what a dive, have you ever been there? Anyway, well done, Angelica." Karner makes a divergence over to Theo, Hall, and Schultz. "It might be faster if we split up. LeRoy, perhaps you can take some in your vehicle? Whoever you'd like. I suppose I should go in the limo. Ashley, why don't you come with me?" He starts walking back in that direction.

Hall frowns. "Like I said, uh. The Hollywood Museum and the Museum of Death are both on Hollywood Boulevard, and. They're pretty close to each other. But Karner has already tapped him for the nearby Alta Cienega Motel, so he won't be part of that contingent.

The walls are probably 8 feet tall, but have no barbed wire or anything sharp on top. But it's impossible to know who might be on the other side and it does sound busy inside.

He glances from Theo to Karner then, gauging which group he should join. Equally comfortable with either, he waits to balance out the numbers as best he can, however the rest divide themselves.

CADI GROUP: Theo, Schultz and Jack climb into the Escalade and head to the Hollywood Museum on Highland. It's a small shop that boasts tens of thousands of pictures and memorabilia of celebrities past and present. Photographs of many celebs such as Bette Davis, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Bob Hope, Bob Dylan, James Dean, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jean Harlow grace the walls, but it's a specific pic of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark they are looking for. Elvira actually has an entire area dedicated to her, but the pic they need for the scavenger hunt is her photographes with her '58 Thunderbird. There is a curator in front that greets them, her name tag says "Hi, I'm Jeanine", and there are a few people milling about, taking in the images. "May I direct you gentlemen to a specific section?" She asks helpfully.

There is a front office though with a lovely Asian man manning the front desk. He's reading a paper and looking dreadfully bored.
---<Ragnar>--------------- Ragnar knew Angelica was at The Viper Room. The elder vampire hated clubs. It wasn't because he was old but it was the Gangrel blood running in his veins. He would rather be naked and running out in the forest but he was Angelica's bodyguard and he took that job seriously. So he drove on his motorcycle to the club to meet his friend. Ragnar pulled up outside The Viper Room to see Angelica there with a group of people. Ragnar was dressed in blue jeans, boots, a black shirt with white letters spelling out nWo and a leather jacket. He turned off the bike and made his way over to Angelica. "Hey there Blondie." He said before turning to Karner and Hall. "Hello you two. Long time no see. Sorry about that. I had to go on a road trip."

BARTOK: For whatever reason, Robbie's expert spidey senses don't seem to be working at this moment. It's hard to tell whether there is security or not, but judging by the state of the 'side show' temporary-like buildings, chances are there is no fancy security happening here. Just a locked door.

As they arrive, James opens the back door so they trio can climb out of the luxury Escalade. Heading inside, Theodore casts a glance around until they are greeted by Jeanine at which point he focuses on her. The Setite summons up his charm as he smiles at the curator, "Bonsoir, Madamoiselle...Jeanine? You have a very lively museum here. We are immense fans of Elvira and we would love to see her. However, there is a specific photo we heard about, one with her and a 1958 Thunderbird...can we see that?" <English>

We have a few options here. We can use our abilities to make him give us the key, one of us could distract him while the other searches for it, or we can try to steal it from him...tell me about your talents and opinions, friends."

Angelica gives Ragnar a wave. She likes to keep him abreast of what's going on with her, so they can meet up if needed. They've been planning to go to the party tonight. She waves enthusiastically to him. He spares Jack a glance, but seems content to allow Theo to dictate the direction of the operation. He glances around, showing passing interest at this or that. He offers a polite smile to Jeanine and will head off in the direction of the Elvira section. He bides his time, though, quirking a brow expectantly toward Theo, to see what the play is here.

BARTOK: Robbie is easily able to scale the wall and drop into the Institute without alerting anyone. But he's going to have to move extremely carefully as there are tons of people drinking beer and milling about the exhibits.

"Yeah, uh. Good to see you," Hall tells Ragnar. "And. Happy birthday, Karner." He still sounds put out, but he said it. He listens to Karner and Angelica, then asks, "Well, like. Where /is/ the key, anyway? Is that something that, uh. You can pick up, Karner?" He gives the director an inquisitive look.

He's talking about Auspex, and the ability to read someone's mind. "It may or may not work, though we could try it, I suppose. Still, I'm hardly the man to do the taking of the key."

BARTOK: Each exhibit seems to be housed in these wooden circus caravan type builds. From up on the 8ft. wall, Robbie can easily peer down and discover where the monkey house is. to the north, then a hard right in the little maze the buildings create. The fire alarm seems to be one of the old fashioned types; a big bell with a clacker that rings old-school should someone flip the switch.

As he heads for the section dictated by Jeanine, Theodore casts a side glance to his two companions. "Have you ever seen this photograph?" he asks, making his way to where the scavenger hunt item should be located. Scanning the area, he is looking for this strange mortal woman who dresses like a vampire, along with the 1958 Thunderbird. "If either of you see it, let us know." he states. <English>

You'll find everyone is pretty much in alphabetical order by their last names, so he is with the 'Fs'.

Bartok drops down gently. His chameleon skin should protect him from the eyes of the party goers even if his Obfuscate fails. He's heading to the fire alarm first. When he gets to the alarm he's going to flip the switch and then stand very still near it, as he has a merit that makes him even harder to see when he's standing still. He believes this will get most of the kine out of the way or at least moving towards the exit. With the kine all moving in one way, it should be an easier matter of navigating the crowd.

And given his talents, he might even end up with more weirdness than he bargained for. Telepathy is a strange little power!

With an 'on second thought' sort of an expression, Hall looks at Angelica and Ragnar. "Checking into the hotel, or. Pretending to check into the hotel, uh. Could be a good distraction, too. If we end up needing one." Since Angelica talked about her channel at the Viper Room already. And Hall sits back to see what Karner will learn.

LIMO GROUP: Karner seems to have the gift of sight tonight! Holy cats. He easily sifts through the poor man's mind like sand through a siv, finding things he may need therapy over for years to come. But when he envisions the key; he easily finds it in the manager's mind. It's exactly like one might think; a dark green plastic fob that actually has "Morrison's Room" printed on it. But there seems to be a small catch. The key, the last time the manager saw it, was in the hands of a 20-something man named Josh, who is holding hands with another man named Eric. Why are they holding the key? Perhaps they're already in the room...

"Oh my," Karner says, tapping his lip. "That could get him arrested, really. And he should see a doctor about that." He finally turns his gaze away and looks at the group. "I think the key is currently /in/ Morrison's room, along with a young man who is, perhaps, renting said room at the moment. So, I suggest we simply go up to the room and go from there."

BARTOK: With Robbie's natural athletic ability, and his hiding skills, he manages to throw the alarm switch then begin to swim upstream like a salmon against all the kine who begin to run toward the exit door with alarming speed. Carl Crew can be heard yelling for his partner to help find and put out the fire, if that's indeed what is going on. So the two of them are running up and down the aisle ways with a fire exstinguisher in hand, looking for a fire to put out. As long as he's careful, Robbie should easily make it to the Monkey Paw display.

There are no trip wires or alarms or the like hindering the removal of the the pic. I'll meet you at the Escalade." he claims with attention on Jeanine. As soon as the poor curator turns her head, the Setite grabs the photo off the wall and BAMF! He is gone.

Of course, it will never make TMZ thanks to Isaac. Hurry up." He will pull Hall out if he has to, and Hall will complain, and it will be amusing.

He lingers near enough the door, waiting to see if Jack's able to extricate himself easily enough, or if he needs to guard against their escape.

CADDY GROUP: It's true. With one quick swipe, Theo has removed the pic from the wall and then completely disappeared, along with Elvira! He turns up at the Escalade, and Schultz and Jack are nearly moseying out in molasses pace comparitively. It won't take her long to realise the pic is missing, however. But in the meantime she is -very- entertained by Jack and the thievery seems to have gone by unnoticed so far.

When Schultz and Jack come out to the Escalade, James is already holding the back door open for them. Theodore has carefully curled the photo up so as not to damage it. "Monsieurs. Tres bien. Well played in there." he remarks to them as he waits in the lushly upholstered vehicle. When the two join him, James closes the door end climbs into the driver seat, pulling out to head back to the meeting destination. "Perhaps we should call and see if anybody has been to the Museum of Death yet since we are on the street..." he mentions to the others. <English>

And just as he's about to make a grab for the paw, Crew's partner flies by again and stops, just for a moment. Like he senses something. But it's fleeting and in a moment he's off running again. The fire alarm stops. Crew can be heard on a loud speaker, letting people know it's okay to come back in, as it was a false alarm.

Bartok freezes when Crew's partner gets close, not unlike the statues he's named for he stands completely still. With the paw in hand it's not time to GTFO of this place immediately. He's had enough clowns for one night. Bartok attempts to dart behind the Monkey House and then make it back over the wall to the parking lot.

Hall looks like he couldn't be more uncomfortable if he were a cat that someone had shoved into a particularly ill-fitting Halloween costume. He twists under Karner's haute couture-draped arm, and seems to be trying to look anywhere in the room but at Karner or the man standing behind the front desk. His face has even started to turn red. But while he's looking around, his gaze pauses on the gift shop, which shares space with reception. Noting that replicas of the dark green Jim Morrison Room key fob are for sale, he bites his lip, leans in to Karner after all, and whispers something to him, for the first time acquiring at least something of the intimate, conspiratorial air that might be expected from someone apparently checking into a sleazy motel with an infamous sexual degenerate.

LIMO GROUP: Eric and Josh are silent after Angelica says they're not room service. "Who... are you?" Now they sound terribly suspicious. And Ragnar didn't exactly help their suspicions. But miracle upon miracles, Eric decides to actually open the door. He's naked, except for a towel around his waist and his body glistens with sweat. "Who the fuck are you? We rented this room. If you want it you gotta go see the manager! Now get the hell out -- you're eating away at our time!" Inside the door, Angelica and Ragnar get a birds eye view of the splendor of the Jim Morrison room. Every square inch of the walls is covered with graffiti, art, Doors stickers and quotes from songs and such. It's wild to look at. Other than that the room is tiny, the bed linens disgusting and the table and chairs rudimentary.
At the front room, the Manager shakes his head. "Is it a full moon tonight? You loons are out in droves. 'Finest Room'?" He himself can't help but laugh. "Room 34 is open. But it looks like all the other rooms. Besides the Morrison room of course, but that is rented for a couple hours. You'd have to come back if that's what you are after."

BARTOK: With expert skills, Bartok is able to navigate the now returning crowd, mostly by going behind and avoiding them. He does manage to pass the 100 year old mummified clown on his way out, which is a gruesome thing to behold. But he manages to scale the wall and hit the parking lot, which is now mostly deserted as everyone is back inside the attraction.

"We'll take your finest Room 34 and your finest Morrison Room key fob, to remind us of the time we won't have," Karner says with a grin. "And be quick about it, man. I need to be back on set in a couple of hours!" He even mimes looking at the big, blue Omega watch strapped to his right wrist.

With the prize in hand Bartok spreads his wings and takes to the air. His chameleon skin melds against the starry sky that hangs over Hollywood tonight. He catches a thermal and begins to glide southward. Successfully completing this 'Mission' restores a bit of the creature's goodwill. One he nears Sunset he reaches up to his ear-piece to confirm... "Got it."

I'm a youtuber and streamer." She blinks as she sees the inside of the room, breathtaken by it. "... Wow. Sir this is... can we please come in to take some pictures? You know... for the 'gram?"

He opens the door wider and steps aside so they can both pass through and view the coveted Jim Morrison Promised Land Room.

Karner makes a big show of presented the special b l u e credit card he has for moments like this (or any moments?), and hopefully he and Hall can pay for the room and the fake key without issue. As soon as they get out of there, Karner and his long legs take him up the stairs to Room 32; as soon as Karner sees Angie in there, he claps his hands together in delight. "Angelica, hello! Fancy meeting you here! Ooh, is this the Jim Morrison room? Can we take a peek, too?" That huge grin gets flashed at Josh and Eric. "Hello, boys, I'm Karner Blue, the film director? I've been dying to take a look in here, too."

Apparently, Karner is in a big hurry to get to with his fake tryst. Or maybe just a big hurry to get it over with and get back to set. Hall lags behind him with the key to their room and the Jim Morrison room keychain replica. Once he's out of sight of the hotel manager, he takes the 'Room 34' keychain off of the key that Karner paid for and replaces it with the fake 'Room 32' keychain.
It looks like Ragnar is standing guard outside the Jim Morrison room while Angelica looks around inside, and while Karner tries to inveigle his way in, too. Hall stops by the door. "Uh," he says, craning to see inside. "Wow, is that AngelicWhispers in there? You here together? Nice to meet you." And he shakes Ragnar's hand, passing off the fake 'Room 32' keychain.

Angelica stresses, and then puts her hands up and gets on the tips of her toes like she's trying to tip toe and squeeze her way past the man before resting back on her feet like normal and looking around the place. "Wow...!" She pulls out her cellphone and then starts to take pictures. Her phone then starts to blow up with text messages. 2 of them come through. With each message, however, the ojousama laugh of Karin Kanzuki in Street Fighter 5 starts to play. Each time. LIMO GROUP: Eric and Josh patiently, or perhaps impatiently show the pair around, but now two more people show. "Okay, this is enough already. We've only got it for a couple more hours... can you all just leave?" He sound incredibly frustrated and a bit grumpy. But with Hall and Karner's ingenious plan, their super fast thinking, Angelica's power of persuasion and finally Ragnar's incredible dexterity skills... the four of them pull it off with style and flare. The fake key has been easily swapped for the real key, and the Kindred are now one step closer to winning the entire game!
