Nura is from Oakland, born and raised. She lived on the streets there for a little bit, largely couch surfing and bouncing around different friends' houses. As a result, she could know a lot of different people from the Bay. |
| Iraqi-American |
Nura's parents are from Iraq and came to the United States on an Iraqi scholarship to attend university here. They both have PhDs and taught at UC Berkeley. |
| Former Orphan |
After her Awakening, Nura didn't immediately join the Traditions (or the Technocracy, ha), and wound up falling into a pattern that many Awakened teens did: stuck out on the streets and living as an Orphan. |
