Where the Ocean Meets Goodbye
Location: Parkers Apartment & Santa Monica Pier
Date and Time: February 26th Prelude (Evening) to March 1st Finale (Sunrise to Sunset)
Summary: Angela and Parker share a Last Sunrise and Sunset together
---<Angela>---------------
Angela and Parker have had access to each-others homes for quite a while now, and so it comes at no surprise that she wanders in like she owns the place. What does come as a surprise is that this time it's different... Angela bursts into the apartment not at a full sprint but certainly like someone in a hurry. Her demeanor is marked with just enough panic to be off putting, she's breathing heavier, but not horribly so. "Parker..!1?" she takes a deep breath, exhaling as she calls out... the door is shut, not softly or carefully... but carelessly, not a crashing slam, but a solid bang. If Angela was in her right mind, she's quickly realize that Parker is probably in his office, but her mind is racing as she steps further into the entryway, taking another deep breath. "PARKER!?" her voice rising as whatever gasping breath she took is used to powerfully raise the volume on that single name, in truth... Parker has probably heard the door opening, her initial call to him, and the door banging... her secondary shouting of his name unnecessary, and most certainly Parker would notice this entrance as very different.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker is most certainly in his office, plugging away. Or thinking quietly. Or talking to someone on the phone. Whatever it is, it is quickly dropped as he hears all the commotion coming from his front door and then Angela's voice. That sound of panic. "Angela?" His voice is concern, worry, sympathy, anxiety, probably a heavy mix of all of the above as he stands up from his desk, "I'm in the office. What's wrong?" He calls out, starting to move towards the doorway as Angela is likely making her way towards the room itself. They will probably meet somewhere in the space between the doorway and his desk if they both proceed as planned.
---<Angela>---------------
Angela is scrambling to get to Parker, moving quickly from the entryway to meet him. The sound of her feet makes it easy to note she's moving hastily, and it doesn't take long for her to come into view and stop right before him, taking more deep breaths as she tries to calm herself... breaths that will soon be unnecessary... "It... it's happening... it's happening..." nodding up at him as if it's happening is a pre determined code phrase the pair had gone over... which it certainly is not.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker reaches out his hands, and his arms, to draw her in to him, to draw her into an embrace, warm and holding her for as much or as little as she seems to need. Nodding his head slowly he looks resigned, probably much like he's looked for a while now. Sympathetic, loving, and resigned. "Is it? When...?" Is all he asks. Simple words, whispered almost, soft against her skin if she's held close.
---<Angela>---------------
Angela needed that embrace, her arms wrapping about his waist to cling to him, head leaning against his chest as she takes another breath, this one a little more normal, working to calm herself now that she's gotten to Parker. There is a long pause as 'when...?' is left unanswered, when she finally responds her voice still has a touch of panic, but is much calmer than where it was. "Friday night... this... this fucking Friday Night."
---<Parker>---------------
Parker continues to hold her as they talk if that's what Angela's body seems to want or suggest she wants. He's not going to let go on his own from the way he seems to just wrap around her. Listening, breathing, she might be able to feel his heart beating in his chest quite rapidly, palpably. "Alright. Friday Night. Well at least you know. How are you /doing/ with that?" His voice is soft, tender even, although there is a slight tremble to it. A lack of certainty that is rarely there and usually something only Angela and maybe Cheree sees.
---<Angela>---------------
There's a momentary tighter squeeze form Angela, then she relaxes more into his embrace, her heart continuing to beat rapidly, but steadily calming in his presence. "I thought I'd be fine... right... I was sure... I... I.. was convinced I'd be fine..." there's a nervous laugh, perhaps finding it funny will help her get her shit together. "I feel like my stomach and heart are on the floor... I'm so glad you're home, ... I..dunoowhatiwouldhavedonewifyouweren'thome..." her words start to tumble over each other, her calming going off the rails again as she clutches Parker tightly once more.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker laughs just a little, that tiny little amount that usually suggests that everything will be okay, that she's worrying about nothing, even if he's only telling her that because that's all he knows what to do at this point. When she relaxes more into his embrace he just deepens it, holding here there in arms that have gained unnatural strength over recent days and nights. "Do you wan...." he stops that train of thought and instead jumps on a different track after a pause of silence and contemplation. "I've got you. I'm here. I'm not going -anywhere-"
---<Angela>---------------
Angela was starting to hyperventilate a little but Parkers gentle words and comforting embrace mange to gently pull her back from the edge, she sniffles a bit as if the pink haired beauty has managed to hold back some tears, or perhaps Parker has managed to do that for her, she shifts further into his hold on her if that's even possible, squirming in against him to grip all of him as much as possible, "I... thought I'd be fine..." a slow deep breath, "I... I'll be fine.... I'll be fine..... I... I'm fine..." she nods against him, convincing herself of those words.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker gives a little sniff and breath, a slight bit of levity in the sound as she all but crawls into him in the moment. He does not fight it and would not if she could. "I will do whatever you need, Angela. Even if that's some crazy change of plans at this point. Whatever it is - I'm here." He leans his head down a little more and presses his lips to the side of her head, soft, tender, loving. For someone that talks quite an awful lot, he's rather quiet and there are a great deal of moments where the only sounds are heartbeat and breaths.
---<Angela>---------------
Angela nods against him, "I know you are.... I know..." she sighs out against him, her heartrate slowing, her grip on him relaxing as she takes one final deep long breath... then with some hesitation she slides back from his arms, still close, still touching, to look up at him, eyes a bit red, though her lips curl into a soft smile, "I love you Parker Wilson." lost in his eyes, her smile growing a little.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker is reluctant when she pulls even a little away but also he is not going to force something in this moment. Looking at her, his eyes just sad. There are no tears there, at least not now. But there is a deep sadness behind them even as he looks at Angela with what anyone would describe as love. "I know you do. I love -you- Angela Miller. And I will love you regardless of how you change or those feelings change." A hand slides from behind her, or her side, up to her face, that movie moment of his palm cradling her face as a thumb gently brushes away a little water from her cheek if it falls from her eye.
---<Angela>---------------
Angela blinks away a tear that Parker brushes away, smiling as she leans into his hand then leans up to press her lips to his, holding that kiss not as long as the hug, but her arms that were previously around his waist move up over his shoulders, leaning into him with much more happiness, pressing there in that loving embrace.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker returns the kiss and will linger there, letting his eyes close, enjoying the feel of her warm lips against his, his arms again sliding around her, holding her against him, until they both need to breath. Pulling back, he presses his forehead to hers, talking softly in that intimate space. "What do you want to do in the time before it happens?"
---<Angela>---------------
Angela rests her head there a moment, she's calmed even more, practically back to her normal self though a bit red in the face. She reaches up to dab a finger at the corner of her eye, some makeup out of place as she finally breaks the gentle meeting of foreheads. "I want to be with you... held against you..." she smiles softly, "I want to eat good food... bask in the sun.... laugh... and love..." she purses her lips and gives Parker a brief soft kiss as she reaches up to run a hand through his hair, "I want to watch my last sun rise with you... and sunset...." there's a little sigh but she seems happier as she gets to talk about it.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker nods his head and leans in to press his lips to hers once gently then pulls back with a soft, reassuring smile. Or at least an attempt at one. "Then that's what we will do. Perhaps an all nighter? Just you and me? Watch the sun set and then stay together all night, then watch the sunrise one last time together? I'll clear my calendar. I'm all yours."
---<Angela>---------------
There isn't much of a morning, more of an extended night as Angela makes a point of rising early on probably too little sleep to get their day going. It hasn't been all doom and gloom, with Angela making sure that her and Parker destroy the bedroom on a couple of occasions. For her part the pink haired star has managed to remain composed the last few days with what's to come, which has as much to say about her resolve as it also has to say about Parker being her rock.
"The Pier... Santa Monica Pier..." she replies when Parker still seems unsure of the plan, "You know I love Santa Monica... despite some of its inhabitants." there's that little smirking smile of hers out one corner of her mouth as her and Parker head out for what will probably fly by way too quickly."
---<Parker>---------------
Parker wakes up a little bleary-eyed but then again whatever bedroom destroying they did recently probably left him a little happily disheveled anyway. Once he gathers himself though he's up and at it, pushing through whatever is on his mind to put on a happy face, be his best -Parker- and be there for Angela. Over the past few days whenever he's around her, he acts like nothing is changed or changing even as he's more than happy to indulge in all of the energy of the last few days in these circumstances. It's probably unhealthy, the way he simply doesn't affirmatively talk about it. But it's how he's dealing even as he'll listen whenever Angela wants to discuss and discuss when prompted. It's overly passive, but that's what he's working with. "The Pier it is. Sounds like a great spot to spend the day."
---<Angela>---------------
The trip to the Pier is quiet, Angela glancing to read Parker every now and then, offering up soft smiles. She knows everything hasn't magically changed, but something has, and it's helping her get through it. The pink haired beauty walks hand in hand with him down the Pier to a spot that is best suited to watch the sun rise back over the city, the sky already brightening with the returning sun that hides behind the buildings. She finds a spot to lean back against him so he might wrap her up as they watch it, one hand raising up to rub over his arm as it begins to peak out from between the building, then ease itself slowly up over them.
There's a soft sigh from Angela, "It's so beautiful... we should have done this more often..." she ads, leaning back against him, happy to be there with him... the last sunrise of her mortal life.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker is MORE than happy to provide the stability of his body behind her and his arms around her as they turn to face the sunrise together. Wrapping her up and leaning in a little, pressing his lips against the side of her neck and then moving up to kiss the back of her head, "Don't regret or should yourself at this point Angela. There's no use in that. Just enjoy the now and each now moving forward. Please." That last word is a bit of a plea by the sound of it. Cracks beginning to show in the 'normalcy' he's projecting as they near a real countdown.
---<Angela>---------------
Angela nods softly in response, wrapped up in him to watch that sunrise, she doesn't make any sound but she can't help but pool tears that trickle down her cheeks as she blinks them away to watch it, her hand slowly playing back and forth along Parkers arm. She waits there, making sure it is fully past the tops of buildings, her tears drying up, before she calls it complete, "So lovely... " turning to give him a soft kiss, "You're so amazing Mr. Wilson." giving his cheek a stroke, lingering there until she draws Parker away for a small breakfast, followed by a significant amount of time spent walking the beach, sitting, enjoying the sun.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker leans down and into the kiss, a hand moving from being wrapped around her to brush away a tear. The response to her flattery is just a sheepish smile, a blush, and a shake of his head. "I just love you Angela. That's all." The breakfast is as playful as he can make it, making jokes as he normally might, holding her, simply enjoying the time and the food. And the walk equally so. Like the couple they are, holding hands, walking in the sand, the warm sun falling on both of them together for the last time. There are moments there, if she's paying attention, where the thought of 'lasts' cross his mind as he experiences them. They pass quickly but that sadness in his eyes deepens for those moments and should she look at him, she'll see it there. Rare few moments where his efforts to hide it all fail.
---<Angela>---------------
"I love you forever..." is her soft response, "Ever and ever... for all time..." there's that beautiful smile of hers, genuine and large as she stares up at him, it's interesting the day. It's a mix of sadness and love, parts genuine happiness and moments of tears that are almost expected as it coninues along. During the day there more than a few times where Angela and Parker walk awkwardly hand in hand through the sand, shoes in their free hands, toes gripping the sand as seagulls and people make their way along the beach oblivious to what's coming in a few hours for the pair.
Dinner is not surprisingly at Blue Plate Oysterette Seafood Restaurant, where they first ate together, it overlooks the water, the sun starting to make it's slow decent towards the ocean, their seat offering a lovely view.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker smiles at the return to where they started off together. There is a moment of hesitation, a thought that runs through his mind but it either fades or he puts it aside successfully. Whatever happens to it, he's not giving it voice or more time in his brain. Dinner is lovely, and like their first dinner together with far more affection and equally as much laughter and flirting. The hint of sadness hangs over the meal though and Parker purposefully lets Angela order everything and anything she wants. Not that he'd ever deny her - but this is her night and there are no limits on what she can have or do in his mind. For that earlier comment, as they walk, as they talk, he'll consistently respond if Angela makes that promise again, "I know you do Angela." Of course he echoes the statement. There is no shortage of "I love you" thrown around tonight. But hers is almost always followed by his acknowledgment that she does. Like he's reminding himself of the woman that is saying it. Or maybe reminding her.
---<Angela>---------------
Angela does not pull out the Angela Miller card very often, but at dinner she makes a very unique order that has a little bit of all the things she loves, and enough of it for them both to share. That little bit of everything isn't a menu item, but there's no hesitation from the staff, only a small confused, "You..w.ant.. all of that?"
She doesn't treat drinks the same way, she has a couple glasses of wine, and a little Tequila as they try and enjoy themselves.
The sun is like a giant clock in the sky, ticking towards the ocean as dinner finishes, and the couple makes another walk down the Pier to prepare for that last sunset. This time the destination seems like it is the end of the Pier where there is a gathering of people awaiting with cameras, all watching excitedly for the end of the day, Angela hesitates then glances to the Ferris Wheel, her smile growing very large, one of those iconic mouth way too big for her head kind of smiles as she gets excited, "Smaaaall change of plans..." and she tugs Parker towards it.
Through sheer luck the couple manages to secure the last seat, and starts up into the sky to watch as the giant orange ball of fire starts to touch the ocean.
---<Parker>---------------
Parker is starting to likely get tugged in all sorts of directions. From foods, to drinks, to moments, to places, and he's laughing a little in spite of himself. She's fun, and in this sort of last gasp to grasp it all there is so much more to do, see, and experience. And all he wants is to enjoy Angela enjoying it all. So when she drags him to the Ferris Wheel he can't help but laugh and climb in with her to the last seat, coupled up with her, sliding an arm around her, pulling her close to watch the sun set across the ocean, the reds and golds and pinks and oranges reflecting off the water and the hints of clouds.
---<Angela>---------------
Angela holds Parkers hand, her thumb lightly rubbing over it, her head leaning slightly against his shoulder, the wheel creeps along, raising them up and over in full view of the sun as the beautiful ball of fire continues to be swallowed by the ocean.
"I wish we could stay here in this moment... forever..." she sighs softly, getting a little teary, but smiling as the sun continues its descent "It's.... it's really hard to put into words what you mean to me." her hand squeezes his, "But... whatever the future brings, I promise to always be yours..." nothing more needs to be said but if Parker has words, he can of course ad them, barring that the sun is finally devoured, and as the realization washes over Angela that it's gone forever, she sniffs back a little as her eyes once again find more tears, but her lips hold a soft smile as she thinks happy thoughts....
