───<Alejandro>─────────────── The Chantry have, as of late, been convening their social time in the Garden at the behest of the Magister. Alejandro, condescending to think that the exclusivity of the House should not preclude Lila from engaging in social discourse when she is at the Chantry, suggested that they spend more time in the Garden; both as a means of offloading the ritual exercises to their unconscious minds, and to avail of some time to connect to the Chantry itself, which is what the Garden is designed to do. "The Garden," he says in conclusion of a rather dry but informative lecture, "is more than just a Victorian affectiation. Each element has been chosen to provide us with ritual ingredients and provides the necessary holistic reminder that we are all, in a very literal way, a part of the Chantry." He waits for the bulk of the apprentices to disperse about their daily duties and sits on the ground beneath the tree with his back to the trunk, "I really must start spending more time here myself; it was designed, in Vienna, for meditation and I have let that practice lapse. I have been focused on the cerebral parts of our studies and while they are, of course, the bedrock of our orthopraxis; the nonphysical aspect cannot be overstated." He would almost have said 'spiritual' but he has become a devout agnostic in his Embrace. ─────────────────────────────

───<Artemis>─────────────── Artemis Being otherwise at a loose end, even the most studious require a break at one stage or another, Artemis has come seeking some relaxing engagement for the night. They are listening with apparent interest as the Regent speaks, appreciating the garden somewhat more than they had previously. Up till this point, they have had little reason to visit the area. Maybe that would have to change. They let out a hum of agreement. "Sometimes, it can be just difficult to find the timne." they shake their head. "I will have to make the time in future. The last thing any of us needs is burnout. Particularly with the long march of nights ahead of each of us...." <English> ───────────────────────────

───<Lydon>─────────────── One particular Acolyte, one without any talent for Thaumaturgy, Jeremy Martin has been dragged along with the arrival of Apprentice Lydon Vogel, who is as always, draped in his Apprentice Robes as he sweeps out into the space, Acolyte Martin following closely behind in his own Acolyte robes. "I just need to be certain I can touch someone. I don't need to learn extensive martial arts, or advanced hand to hand combat techniques." He explains to the Acolyte, who is looking very much like he's trying to not be disappointed or disturbed by the training excersize. Spying Alejandro, though, Lydon's lips curl into a bright smile and he inclines his head towards the Magister. "Magister Lopez, a pleasure." He greets warmly, and then gestures for the Acolyte to claim an open space, and then also spying Arty, to whom he also greets, "Apprentice Artemis." <English> ─────────────────────────

───<Avery>─────────────── Though many might be inclined to believe that Avery rarely spends any time outside of the chantry library - with the exception of practicing rituals in the sanctum - that couldn't be further from the truth. There have been many nights where the Apprentice could be found here in the garden, occupying one of the benches near the lake and either engaged in quiet conversation or just staring off into nothingness. She's managed to find her own little spot on the ground and so sits, her own Apprentice robes loosely spread out around her. What the Magister has had to say has been listened to, and at length she chimes in somewhat agreeably, "It's the perfect place to clear one's mind, or at least try to." there's a glance to Alejandro and Artemis, and then towards Lydon as he arrives, to whom she offers, "Good evening, Apprentice Vogel." ─────────────────────────

───<Alejandro>─────────────── Alejandro nods slowly, the mask that Kindred society forces him to wear slowly melting from his face and the forced blank canvas is slowly replaced. There are signs of worry, concern, and contentment; the full range of Kindred emotion, muted by the Embrace, but present. "I have not been making enough time for the more pleasant aspects of immortality. It is a mistake I urge each of you not to repeat. The Beast will trick you, tell you to push yourself beyond your limits, because then it can exert control," it is odd, but not entirely unprecedented, for the Magister to wax lyrical about the Kindred Condition itself, but everyone struggles with it from time to time. He runs his hands across the carefully cultivated grass, indulging in the sensation of it for a moment before nodding. "I am glad that you have each condescended to make time for Lila as well. Fitting a Trimira into our otherwise rigid structure requires a degree of flexibility not all Tremere have. I am glad to see that though you bend, you do not break." ─────────────────────────────

───<Artemis>─────────────── Artemis nods easily to the appearance of her Colleague. "Good to see you, Lydon." there's a look of amusement at the acolytes seeming distress at being used as a guinea pig. They take a seat of their own in the grass, propped up on one elbow facingthe rest of the group. "I've always felt more at home inside, to behonest with you." she looks up and lets out a sigh. "If only we could see the stars from here. Unfortunately, they are drowned out." They nod to the Magisters advice, looking somewhat put out. "I hadn't thought of that, to be honest with you. I'll endeavour to make more time in future." to the comment of Lila, she shrugs. "Her presence benefits us all, so there is little reason to begrudge her some time. Not many have the... fortitude to approach things as the House does. If it will help her acclimatise, a little time here and there is a small price to pay for another Sister to join the Chorus." <English> ───────────────────────────

───<Lydon>─────────────── Yielding in his intended training with Acolyte Martin to listen and draw in the wisdom Alejandro has to provide, Lydon's gaze is cool at first, sweeping over the Magister and then turning towards Avery and Artemis both, then his lips curl brightly and he nods. "Ms. Rojas has shown exceptional fortitude, just as well. Normally the Gangrel are not... Our closest of friends, considering our storied history." He decides openly for the group. "But, a chance to have a place of security, of home identity..." "I can understand if she refuses Trimira, but I do believe it would be a great boon for both her, and us." The German Tremere continues for the group, granting Martin a slight reprieve from their training session. "Though I do wonder... Some Acolytes prior have been shown inept in Thaumaturgy, and those being Embraced Tremere, even. I wonder if the Trimira have a higher chance of being inept in such a way." Jeremy Martin tenses, but remains silent, at the mention of ineptitude in Thaumaturgy. <English> ─────────────────────────

───<Avery>─────────────── The corner of Avery's mouth twitches a bit as the Magister refers to Lila as a Trimira. "But she's not Trimira. Not yet," she all but snaps, lips pressing together quickly to suppress whatever else might be wishing to come out of her mouth. Though her tone might imply she's unhappy about the situation, the expression she wears - especially in her eyes - quite clearly shows a great amount of concern and wariness. She falls silent then, perhaps wisely so, reaching to pluck out a blade of grass which she twists between her fingers while listening to Artemis and Lydon as they share their opinions. ─────────────────────────

───<Artemis>─────────────── Artemis hums in thought at Lydons comment. "Entirely possible, of course. Though Trimira are useful for more than just their Thaumaturgical aptitude." she nods towards Lydon "You said it yourself, our relations with the Gangrel are rocky at the best of times. Having one be present and apparently happy with the care that we are providing them?" they offer a lazy shrug from their reclined position. "It will offer us inroads we may not otherwise have had access to." the Acolyte, no longer being a source of amusement, has seemingly been relegated to furniture, for all the regard the Apprentice offers them. At Avery's outburst, there is raised brow, and they raise their hands in supplication. "No, and ultimately, the choice will remain with them." theres a look of concern at the outburst from the usually personable librarian. "What's eating you Avery? If you pardon the phrase. We seem to have touched a nerve." <English> ───────────────────────────

───<Alejandro>─────────────── Alejandro shrugs nonchalantly. "Thaumaturgical ability is only one of the measuring sticks by which we determine merit in the Pyramid. True, very few Acolytes who show themselves... shall we say insensitive to the flows of Thaumaturgy progress to positions of authority, but authority brings responsibility and work. Honestly, the time I remember most fondly is my time before I became Whip." He looks at Jeremy with an appraising eye, scrutinising him, and the feintest whiff of power is raised, similar to yet slightly distinct from pure Thaumaturgy, frowning and then redoubling his efforts and the flow of power coalesces more coherently. "Take your time young Acolyte. You have eternity and if you do not have the nack for thaumaturgy, if you struggle with it you can take the decades that are needed. You are no less Tremere for it." He nods and considers "The Trimira serve that purpose, they act as a bridge between us and the other Clans, sometimes as spies, sometimes as emmisaries, sometimes as teachers. And you are right, Avery, she is not Trimira. She will not be until she swears to Pyramid and drinks from the Cup." ─────────────────────────────

───<Lydon>─────────────── Considering the reaction from Avery, Lydon considers her silently for a moment and then drifts his attention towards Alejandor and Artemis thoughtfully. "We're both a little... Concerned about the potential risks, having her present might bring us." It's intentional wording, only a half truth... "I certainly see the value and advantage of having her present, but she is a Gangrel, and could be something of... A wild, free spirit. Which does not align well with our power structures." He continues, circling and turning towards Jeremy who was just about to reply to Alejandro before the German Tremere is looking at him, and he all but sweats. "So, Acolyte Martin. Are we ready for the training? Remember, you simply have to abate my touching you..." The Acolyte nods, and dips into a combat stance. <English> ─────────────────────────

───<Avery>─────────────── Avery continues to twist the blade of grass before finally tossing it aside at what Lydon expresses, and she seems to choose her own words carefully as she says, "And how is it we've never heard of her before? Her sire certainly made his presence known in the city and then, suddenly, she's at our doorstep? All I can do is compare it to the incident with Rin. It seems... sus. At least to me." ─────────────────────────

───<Alejandro>─────────────── Alejandro shakes his head "Not so. Avery. Your concern is noted, she did not drop at our doorstep. I sought her out at the Prince's recommendation. But your concern is not unreasonable, before we even begin considering binding her to the Cup, we should Blood Walk her and extract a sample of her Vitae for storage in the Vitaeraeum. The risks are manifold, they exist, they have been weighed and counted against not only the potential rewards but our obligations to the Traditions and the Oath of the Tremere. We cannot have an unreleased Kindred of any stripe in the Ivory Tower, it is part of what separates us from the Anarchs and the Sabbat. We adhere to the Traditions completely and are the better for it. Her Sire, though he fell from grace, spent more than a centrury as a hero to the Camarilla. We owe him a debt that can never be repaid and, if it falls to the Tremere to pay that debt, it can never be said that we do not pay what we owe." ─────────────────────────────

───<Artemis>─────────────── Letting out an unneeded breath through their nose, Artemis nods slowly to the concerns. "I can see where you're coming from, but at the same time, while not unfounded, I do not think we need be as concerned as all that." she withdraws in silence for a moment, thinking. "It is true, she is not Trimira yet, but she also does not have access to the greater chantry, until that loyalty is assured." her gaze flicks over to the Magister. "I would have offered to do so, anyway. Should be S.O.P for any prospective Trimira, so far as I'm concerned." she nods to Avery. "The ritual will tell us her clan and generation, but more importantly, it will provide us with those she holds in thrall, as well as those who hold her in thrall, to whit; those blood bonds she shares." they shake their head. "On the whole, I imagine that a great care is being taken with this. We are not blind to the risks, but we are mitigating those where possible." <English> ───────────────────────────

───<Lydon>─────────────── While those concerns are exposed and addressed with the trio of Tremere, Lydon nods softly for Avery, Artemis and Alejandro. "Useful information. I'm sure most of us can perform this ritual, as well." He provides openly for the group. "Are we intending to ask her directly, gain her consent, or are we planning to... Obtain her blood without her awareness?" He questions thoughtfully, turning towards Martin and dipping low into his own combat stance... Soon, his hands are darting out towards the Acolyte, and Jeremy twists, turning and dodging each throw of Lydon's hands, pushing them away and working very intently to prevent the German Tremere from touching him in any serious capacity. For each failure, each time Lydon touches the Acolyte, a flush of mild dizziness and disorientation washes over the Acolyte, though barely. It's not enough to truly consider a full expenditure of blood, just a mild exposure, as though to practice making contact, and invoking the spell both. <English> ─────────────────────────

───<Avery>─────────────── Avery's gaze drifts between Alejandro and Artemis, lips pursed slightly as the weight of their words soaks in. "Of course. I have no doubt things are being handled accordingly." she nods once, a glance given to Lydon at the question he poses and then she leans back, propping herself up on both hands as she looks around the garden. ─────────────────────────

───<Alejandro>─────────────── Alejandro shakes his head at the thought of any subterfuge. "Our relationship with her must be as candid and frank as possible. When I have the opportunity I will talk to her about the fact that Judas was to be arrested and tried for Breach of Hospitality and Domain, but her grief must be overwhelming and Gangrel wear their hearts on their sleeves. They are driven by emotions and that is part of their strength, though it will make training her a challenge." He waves his hand in a gesture, "You are welcome to doubts, and welcome to vioce them. Nobody expects unquestioning obedience from potential Magisters," he leaves the "but we do expect obedience" unsaid, because we are Tremere, it is known, "I believe learning obedience is going to be the hardest thing for Lila to learn. And patience for us." ─────────────────────────────

───<Artemis>─────────────── Artemis shakes their head. "Where possible, I feel it is best we be up front about it. If she is willing to join the Trimira, she will already be providing us with a sympathy for Thaumaturgy, a sinle ritual before hand should raise no more concern when one will be shortly partaking of the cup. As such, I would suggest being up front, explaining what the ritual does, and going from there. Should she deny it at that stage... well. That will be suspicious enough, but we can proceed from that point." As lydon begins his sparring, they watch idly. They would eventually need to take up more physical pursuits, but for now it served as mild entertainment. They nod as the Magister speaks in agreement with her point, "Just so." they chuckle somewhat. "One questions whether we are bringing in a Trimira, or adopting a dog." they shake their heads. "Though I suppose to" she gestures vaguely upwards, encompassing the upper Echelons of the House as a whole "The two might not be so different, much as we might wish otherwise." <English> ───────────────────────────

───<Violet>─────────────── Violet steps into the garden, but this time without her music box. The hood of her robe is pulled down, and her hair is done in noose braids... like she's Wednesday Addams but with glasses. She pauses a few steps ahead of the door, so she's not in the way... as it appears like she walked into some kind of action movie demonstration of a fight scene. She looks to Avery with questioning eyes. She's obviously wondering what she walked into. She starts to approach, moving next to Avery but watching the spar. She doesn't want to get too close and get caught with a palm strike or anything. ──────────────────────────

───<Alejandro>─────────────── Alejandro nods "It could be cynically viewed as adopting an attack dog. There will be those on the outside who view it that way. Or that we are tempting her with dark powers. Only other Tremere will recognise it for what it is, offering her a path to transcendence. Even though it may take centuries, or she may not have the fortitude to walk it; she must come to understand what it is we offer her, something almost nobody ever gets. Choice. I doubt that even Regent Strauss considers her a dog to be adopted. He is less concerned about the risks because if it turns out she cannot be trusted, he will just excise her from the Chantry" he cuts through the air with his hand in a sharp gesture, "with a wave of his hands." He shoots Violet an upnod "We are discussing the question of Lila, she has been provided the opportunity to prove worthy of the Trimira. That we would adopt her into House Tremere, if not Clan Tremere, as an Acolyte. It is unusual and posese some distinct obstacles that we are discussing, but at the end of the day the decision must be hers and mine." ─────────────────────────────

───<Avery>─────────────── "But until she is willing to join, should we not still be as careful as possible when speaking of things around her? Talking openly seems... unwise at this stage." Avery settles her gaze on Alejandro. "And those journals she asked to read, Magister... there's nothing in them other than the information she wishes to consider, is there?" As Violet nears, her head tips slightly to one side to view the younger Apprentice, then she looks right back to the Magister. "I do still intend to do what I can to make sure she at least feels 'welcome' here, though I suspect it will take effort on my part to not refer to her sire as a dick in front of her." ─────────────────────────

───<Violet>─────────────── Violet, when addressed with the situation by the Magister, nods in understanding and quietly stands by Avery. Calling her sire a dick doesn't get a reaction out of Violet, like she doesn't mind the language, however she does ask, "Who is her sire?" in genuine curiosity. Whoever it is to get Avery to talk like that... really must be a dick. She doesn't really have anything to add regardin the Trimira. She doesn't really know her yet... but that's the conversation isn't it? No one does. No one knows much about her. "I came in just as she was leaving." Maybe she does have something to add. "Something seemed... peculiar about her. Maybe I was seeing an attitude? I don't really know..." ──────────────────────────

───<Alejandro>─────────────── Alejandro nods his head and then shakes it as though dismissing a confusing thought "I understand the source of your concern now, I should have been much much clearer. She's not getting the journals, those are priceless Tremere artefacts, no outsider may touch them. I'm xeroxing pages from them and blacking out parts that I don't trust. All she may be given is the commentaries regarding the training and responses to the intake of a Trimira." He shrugs and shakes his head again, "Regardless, the journals are not esoteric in nature. Purely practical. 'On this day, such and such and so and so griped' more similar to the average House meeting's contents, less so the discussions we have in the Library. It's mostly very very tedious, but there are some few insights." He nods at Violet "She is going through a lot. Judas was her sire and he was slain, or worse, by the Sabbat. And she finds herself in a situation not of her making that would be confounding to the best of us at the best of times. She is Gangrel, so ... peculiar is a question of context." ─────────────────────────────

───<Avery>─────────────── Avery mouths a silent 'Oh' at the explanation surrounding the requested journals and, though it doesn't completely dispel her concerns, she does visibly relax a bit more where she sits. "I appreciate the explanation on that, Magister. The thought had crossed my mind if I should be observing her while they were in her possession but... clearly that isn't warranted." she looks glances to the other Apprentices, gaze settling on Violet, regarding her quietly as she waits to hear what she might say now that Lila's sire has been named. ─────────────────────────

───<Violet>─────────────── Violet nods in understanding towards Alejandro. The Gangrel are... different, yeah. When it is mentioned that Judas is the sire, and he was possibly slain or is probably being tortured by the Sabbat or being a Tzimisce's twisted creature of horror... which again falls under tortured by the sabbat, she doesn't seem to react. Maybe she doesn't know much about him. Well, she knows enough to know that Avery thinks he's a dick. She turns to give Avery a sympathetic look, around the time that Avery looks back at her. She doesn't say anything, however, just holds that gaze of sympathy. ──────────────────────────

───<Alejandro>─────────────── Alejandro nods slowly as the full understanding is realised. "It is all in hand. Well... as much as it can be when there are unknown variables. But we know the unknowns, and we have done what we can to mitigate all of the risks. We are Tremere and the Pyramid is all. If she can find a place in the Pyramid, the Pyramid will be more for it. If we can add her strength to ours and our strength to hers, we will both be the more for it. It requires trust, yes. Trust, but verify." ─────────────────────────────

───<Artemis>─────────────── From where they are laying on the shore of the lake, Artemis stirs themself, attention returning once more to the group. They had been content enough to let things pass by them, by and large, but they nod to Alejandro's comment. "She won't be getting access to anything an oursider wouldn't already have knowledge of." They hesitate a moment. "If it helps, I will do my utmost to be more careful of the topics on which I speak when she is present." Though they had yet to meet, Artemis did have a habit of ignoring acolytes and ghouls and proceeding as if they didn't exist.... <English> ───────────────────────────

───<Avery>─────────────── Avery arches a brow slightly at Violet's look, gaze lingering on the young Tremere as if trying to gain an understanding of just what that look is steming from. "Trust in each other is a certainty," she begins with a nod and a slow glance around to those she trusts most these nights, "and I'll also remind myself to trust that everything is well in hand and not dwell too much on the uncertainties Lila's presence here brings so as to neglect what I should be focusing on." ─────────────────────────

───<Violet>─────────────── Violet gets a read on Avery's expression and explains, "I'm sorry he was a dick to you." She says with genuine concern, deciding to then move to sit next to her now and not stand. She makes a mental note of what Artemis just said, as it would do her well to not speak on certain subjects when the Trimira is around, but Violet doesn't talk much anyway. She doesn't say anything in regards to Alejandro's words. He's right, but if she breaks that trust... ──────────────────────────

───<Alejandro>─────────────── Alejandro nods "Likewise, I have spoken of the Mysteries of the Tremere publicly, but they are Mysteries. And until you experience them, the words are dust and ash on the wind, sand and fire, light and shadow. They allude to the truth and they can guide one to the truth, but they are not the truth itself. Our power can come only from disciplined, focused study. We could speak freely of them in front of her, and they would mean nothing. I don't recommend it, not because she could learn from them, but without the proper education, without guidance, it may create a barrier to learning." ─────────────────────────────

───<Artemis>─────────────── Artemis nods easily. "So no talking shop, as it were, in front ofthe prospective, one way or the other." they gesture expansively "But allow us to daydream...." a frown of costernation crosses their features. "nightdream? Doesn't have quite the same ring to it." they shake their head, before continuing. "But imagine what we could learn? The last time, we had unwilling subjects, and from it came the Gargoyles. We will of course have to be far more humane, but think of the avenues of research this opens up to us, should she decide to join the ranks!" <English> ───────────────────────────

───<Avery>─────────────── Avery 'hmm's softly at Violet's comment yet she doesn't respond to it. Not here anyway. There will be time later should she choose to provide more of an explanation. "Indulge in fantasies about something desired?" she offers after a moment, giving Artemis a grin. Ah - there's something she's at least found some amusement in! She shakes her head then with a soft laugh. "I do imagine we're going to learn quite a bit - whether it be through research or not." ─────────────────────────

───<Alejandro>─────────────── Alejandro nods at Artemis and Avery's discussing research. "Contrast provides a means of self measurement and appraisal that consistency does not. It is not like she will readily learn our secrets, regardless. You all know how much time it takes to learn even the simplest of our rituals. And there is the possibility she is thaumaturgically inert and after bringing her into House Tremere that she will not be capable of learning our ways. Plus. She has to choose it. And I have to approve. And the Regent," though everyone suspects the Regent's approval is a mere formality. He generally doesn't bother with the day to day minutiae of the house and, even though the induction of a Trimira is exceptional, it will either work and the Regent will be ultimately responsible or it won't and Alejandro will. ─────────────────────────────

───<Violet>─────────────── Violet cants her head to her left, seeming like there's probably something she's misunderstanding as she watches Avery. Or maybe she caused a misunderstanding. Whatever it is, she takes in the words of the others and doesn't comment further about Judas. She understands... all too well how long it takes to learn the simplest of rituals. She's working on learning one now and the others are more than likely doing the same thing, so when Alejandro speaks on that, she only nods along... before she takes a part of a sleeve from her robe and rubs it at one of the frames of her glasses. There might've been something on it, dust or a hair or something. ──────────────────────────

───<Artemis>─────────────── Artemis nods vigorously. "Ahhh, but I know we shouldn't put the cart before the horse, but the idea of a new path of research opening up before us" she gives a full body shiver in apparent pleasure. "Sublime." It is times like this that it becomes readily apparent just why the normally taciturn Neonate was sired. Her features are softened somewhat with the gentle curve of the smile, tugging at the corners of her mouth. "i'm personally hoping she takes her place among us. Even just seeing her approach to learning thaumaturgy would probably be worth a Thesis, investigating how our clans Magnum Opus finds expression through the medium of another Clans Vitae." she ponders for a moment. "I wonder if the mutability of their form will provide her with an advantage on a few paths that would otherwise be more esoteric to the House as a whole?" <English> ───────────────────────────

───<Avery>─────────────── The enthusiasm coming from Artemis causes Avery to blink, and she looks at the other Apprentice as though just seeing them for the first time. "Patience," is all she says, something Apprentice Vogel can attest to hearing from her more than just a few times in recent nights. "Although when your research is published, I'll be happy to find a special place to keep it in. Accessible for all to read, of course." ─────────────────────────

───<Violet>─────────────── Violet seems to perk up when Artemis mentions another Clan's Vitae. She adds in after Avery, "I would love to read that, myself." Her smile remaining as she looks to Avery and nods. Blood work is her work, after all. There are so many mysteries in the Vitae that could still be uncovered. "I should probably get back to my studies soon." The smile soon wearing off into that blank, 'default' expression. She rises from her seat, "I'll be in the Library if I'm needed. This has been an interesting discussion, as always." She starts off for the exit, unless someone or something impedes her for whatever reason. ──────────────────────────

───<Alejandro>─────────────── Alejandro shakes his head at Avery "Accessible with permission," and though an outsider might assume it is chiding, it is clearly meant as a joke. Tremere humor is a strange thing. "If you need a hand with those studies, I will make some time for you, but the Regent has had me running ragged these days. So it may take a few days." ─────────────────────────────
