============== Rooftop Terrace - Century Plaza - The Westside ===============

Tonight, the decor is in classic New Years' colurs: gold and black. Helium balloons have been set up in archways and tethered in clusters to weights that anchor them to the decking. Tablecloths are in layered and offset black and gold, with confetti spread on the tables, in festive shapes. A stage has been setup at one end, where tuxedo-clad, glassy eyed musicians play music in a way that is both technically proficient but also a little robotic - pre-programmed, living entertainment. A variety of briliantly-dressed, beautiful men and women are spread throughout the entertainment space, in gorgeous, New Year's appropriate gowns and tuxedos, styled elegantly, but all languid and sedated, left vulnerable and insensate to the predators among them. ==============================================================================

This evening is special. With all of the decorations and adornments that amplify the space, drawing out the image of just how special the event is. Lazily and sluggishly engaging with one another, some in absent-minded dance and others resting wearily in comfortable furniture are a number of kine. Mortals, who are entirely zoned out with wide, wistful smiles curled on their lips. Certainly, they seem to be enjoying themselves, aroused and delighted by the evening. This evening, it seems, is the end of another year. New Years Eve, celebrated in Century City.
A short time after the start of the party - having given enough time for those who are fashionably late to arrive and mingle briefly, the hosts take to the stage set up for the dull-eyed musicians that, for tonight, seem to play without much soul, but with a pre-programmed efficiency. First, Schultz speaks. Dressed in a perfectly-tailored tuxedo in a classical style, the Ventrue allows the last bars of a song to end with a flourish to attract the attention of those present. "My friends, welcome! I am so pleased you decided to join tonight. I am pleased to welcome you all to Century City, and to our party tonight. A word on security - the event is Masquerade-safe tonight. I will see to the adjustment of any memories at the end of the night, but please be prudent and don't go jumping off the side of the building or anything."
He clasps his hands together, and gestures toward the musicians. "The musicians here are all very skilled, sadly lacking a little soul as a result of the Dominate that ensures a safe setting tonight. But if anyone feels inclined to join the band or sing a song, they're receptive to *musical* requests. And as you all know, I'm *loathe* to occupy the limelight and more than I have to, so please, enjoy yourselves here in the outer reaches of the Tower's influence in the west of the city. Now, a word on the refreshments from my friend and co-host, Mister Vogel. Mister Vogel?" Schults spreads his hands in welcome of the Tremere and then steps off the stage.

After Schultz has spoken his peace, the ever familiar German Tremere makes his approach onto the stage, in an enchantingly attractive appearance. A lustfully enticing image taking his normally average appearance and amplifying it beyond its means. As he arrives on the stage, both hands stuffed into his pockets, Lydon Vogel draws a hand from his pocket and sweeps a gesture out towards the room. "Every year, at this time, the whole world celebrates change. The year ends, and a new one begins and then three hundred, sixty five days later, it ends again. Each year, mortals celebrate this cycle of the changing times by making pacts of things they wish to achieve throughout the next three hundred, sixty five days. They make these resolutions, they kiss and they drink and they reflect on the past year."
"Tonight, let us be bold. Let us take from the mortal society their bold reminder of the past, and their hopeful visions for the future. Tonight, I have a special challenge for you. He explains. For this night, I offer you the opportunity to go back in time. A rare, unique journey in which only the brave; The bold and strong of heart should engage. For some, the trip will be short, for others, it will be a long, long voyage because tonight I offer you the chance to become mortal again."
"Just for a moment. For a candle wick moment in our unlives, we get the rare chance to become what we once were. It is not a journey for the faint of heart, however as many of us left so much behind when we became what we are now." Lydon explains coolly. "And if you should refuse to partake in this journey, no one here will blame you. Simply refuse the offer at the end of the year when it is presented, and enjoy the remainder of the party. Dance, sing, engage with your fellow Kindred." He continues. "For the bold, however when the clock strikes midnight, partake in the mortal refreshments before you. Grant them the Kiss and you will experience the journey. Each kine presented has been given a special drink that will allow them to impart a magical gift onto you for the night."
"Once you partake in the refreshments, you will experience a wistful, ethereal happiness just like you see on them." He explains, gesturing out towards the mortals that are sluggishly, but wistfully engaging. "Though, certainly on a lesser scale. The effects of the magic presented will bring to the mind, the memories of what it felt like to be a mortal. You will be buzzed, as if you were intoxicated yourself. I assure you, however, that this feeling will not debilitate you like it does the mortals you currently see and if for whatever reason when you partake in the blood if you are uncomfortable with the joy and pleasure that this magical experience brings to you you can simply cast it away. Just focus for a moment and you can flush the intoxicating drink from your system. You will have complete control over your facilities and not be bound to continue to experience the magic I have brought before you."
After a moment, allowing his words to settle in dramatic pause, he bows politely for the Kindred in attendance. "That is all I have for you, this evening. As Mr. Schultz has said, you need not worry terribly over the Masquerade. The magic I have presented to you, will make each and every mortal who has partaken of the wine, forget this night like they do during the Kiss. They will simply remember having a pleasant night, drinking some wine, and attending a party. While you have the chance to travel back in time. Thank you, and please, enjoy your evening."
For those who do decide to feed from the kine, they will find that Lydon doesnt seem to be lying. The experience is like being buzzed, a sort of direct drunkenness that is somewhat different than they might otherwise experience when feeding from intoxicated mortals. This settles into the body like wine does for mortals, and it goes straight to the head as well. Pleasant memories from when they were a mortal themselves, seems to flood their consciousness, and they will find themselves relaxed and calmed. A peaceful, pleasant experience.

Saoirse, the Ginger, is here dressed in a little white dress. It blends with her pale complexion, which provides a stark contrast to all of her freckles and her red hair. For now, she remains towards the perimeter of the gathering. She keeps to herself, simply watching how the others take the environment. She does take in the sight of one of the drunken mortals, a man that could just be viewed as a nice morsel. But the redhead shows restraint for now, she doesn't engage. No, she appears to be waiting for someone or something?

Anyone who saw Avery arrive a bit earlier in the evening would know, based on her reaction to seeing the decor, that she most certainly did not plan to blend in with the color scheme! And yet she does, wearing a pretty gold dress with a satin sash and flirty handkerchief skirt. (https://tinyurl.com/5y9hmtt7). She's settled on a spot offering a full view of the festivities, turning her attention to the hosts for the evening, Schultz and Lydon, as each steps up to speak. As she listens, her gaze moves about, lingering momentarily on a few of the mortals as though in consideration for later.

Yiska tonight, has someone pn his arm, the lovely Lilena. Dancing a bit, the slow steps easily taken and the women he has escorted to the party is light on her feet and easy to lead. They talk in a muted way, enjoying the beginning festivities. Till the speech as the music ends. To Lilena, "I'll not be partaking of the speciality tonight. I've enough memories of my life before. Be as you will, I'll watch over you."

Lilena has her own memories from time to time and she doesn't yearn to bring up memories that she has forgotten. As they dance and speak amongst thier selves she is looking for the refreshments for the mortals that have choose to attend. "I am just wanting to get something to drink maybe some wine if they have it. Would you accompany me? " she says this as the music is just beginning to start up again. She is dressed in a lovely gown https://tinyurl.com/ysxafszh with gold heels.

"What festivities," comes the words of a native Californian accent, "You seem to have outdone yourself again, Herr Vogel," though with the faintest hint of something genuinely German on that last bit. Rex arrives in the 'fashionably late' category, right as the proclamation ends. And his appearance lends to it, only sporting a black dress shirt underneath a matching overcoat with an appropriate pair of slacks. Placing a hand to his midsection, he offers a polite half-bow towards the German once he's approached. And then, a knowing half-grin. "Ones I would gladly brave the rigors of travel to attend."

Saoirse excuses herself and steps out for one reason or another.

This is sort of like Khadijah's coming out party. While she has met with those closest to her, the middle eastern woman has not been introduced to the rest of Camarilla kindred society in Los Angeles, so here she is! The very thin, honey-blonde woman chose a huge, couture, ball gown by Dolce & Gabbana for the party -- inspired by the gowns of Louis XV's time. It's a hand painted, white and gold tapestry, corset gown that she wears with exquisite jewelry. A diamond tiara, a diamond bracelet cuff, diamond earrings and a 4" thick diamond studded collar. There is absolutely nothing understated about Khadijah this evening. She enters the party as if she owns the place, gently waving and offering 'hellos' to people she doesn't know, which is everyone. Finally, she makes her way straight over to Lydon and Schultz, giving them a small curtsey and smiling with a glitter in her eyes. "Good evening to you both..." Her English is slightly broken and thickly accented. "Thank you for the invitation. This is such a lovely party."

Stepping off the stage, Lydon Vogel seems to have his attention sharply locked onto Avery, drinking in the sight of her in a way that is perhaps unfortunately, entirely indiscreet. So, when Rex greets him, the German Tremere's attention turns towards the man with a coy curl of his lips that is quickly schooled. "Mr. Everhart. What a joy and treasure to see you again. Please, I have some to introduce you to." He offers, the German accent of Rex seeming to draw out a heavier accent of his own as he gestures towards Avery and begins to guide towards her.
"Ms. Thornton, you look absolutely stunning." He offers, by way of greetings. "Please allow me to introduce you to my childer, Mr. Everhart." <English>

The speech ends and Lilena lets him know that she is looking to get a drink, "I'm sure they do. " Taking her arm he leads her over to were the wine is flowing freely for those that can partake of it.

Lilena is saying good evening to those that they may pass on thier way to get her some wine. Once she reaches the refreshments and takes a glass of wine she will mingle out of the way with her wine and take small sips looking around to see if she see's anyone she might recongize.

Avery's attention has drifted from the kine towards the other guests and she's just beginning to walk about when she hears her name spoken by Lydon. Pausing, she looks back to him with a faint smile and a slight nod by way of greeting. "Thank you, Mr. Vogel. I..." she pauses, giving him that all too familiar questioning look before she looks over at Rex with a more friendly smile. "Mr. Everhart. Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Avery Thornton."

Khadijah looks over at Rex after he compliments Lydon and the party in general. She smiles at him, studying what he's wearing and seeming to approve. "Good evening." She says slowly with a smile, as if she's still trying out the English language. "I'm Khadijah, it's so nice to meet you." She also manages to catch Lilena's eye as she passes by. "I'm Khadijah," She offers her hand to one, then the other. "So nice to meet you both."

Considering Khadijah somewhat belatedly, Lydon turns to face the man with a polite incline of his head. "A pleasure to make your acquintance." He greets coolly. "We've not met before. Lydon Vogel, Clan Tremere." And while introductions are being passed around, he doesn't seem to offer his hand out, both of which are stuffed into his pockets. "I hope you enjoy your evening, here. This is certainly the first time I've ever participated in planning such an event. It's not something I tend to do frequently." He provides. "The ritual, overtaking our kine, is also something new to me. Something I've recently mastered, for this event."
"Ms. Thornton is a member of House and Clan." He offers, turning towards Rex and Avery as they start their conversation, his attention turning to lock onto Avery again, distractedly. <English>

Lilena catches the hand that Khadijah offers her she will find that the ghouls hand is nice and warm to the touch. "Lovely to meet you as well. Lilena Angleus ghoul of Primogen Mr. Michealson." she says with a warm smile on her face in passing. She still has Yika's arm wrapped in her own as she makes her way walking with him. "so, how many people do you know here? Maybe you can introduce me to some of them. " she says to Yiska as they are walking from getting her a drink.

There's a charming smile to his face as he's recognized, and whisked away. "Delighted, Ms. Thornton." And then the further explanation from Lydon, his eyes light up a bit more. "Ah, I see," offering a respectful bow of his head towards Avery. "I take it we will be seeing more of each other in the near future then." Picking up on the more overt tells from his Sire, Rex reigns in the light tone. "I've just received permission to return to Los Angeles." In the brief gap of introductions, he accepts the extended hand and offers a smile to Khadijah. "Alexander. A pleasure, everyone here being a new face."

"Most assuredly, Mr. Everhart," Avery replies with a small nod, her gaze shifting from Rex to Khadijah curiously and then back again. "I look forward to making your acquaintance more outside of here," she gestures around at the party. "I do hope you enjoy yourself in the meantime."

Finding the wine table was simple enough, of course Yiska doesn't grab one himself, waiting for Lilena to take one. Nodding to this person and that, a shake here and there, "Yiska Ghost Bear, Clan Gangreal." This said several times in passing and introductions.

Saoirse returns to the party, tucking away a cell phone as if she had to take care of some urgent need but has since been resolved. For the moment, she simply serves as a wall flower. She offers polite smiles to those that look her way and such, but for now, she's a passive participant in the party.

Conversation sparks, and Lydon works to maintain that cool expression of his warmed by the group he's engaged with. Rex, Avery and Khadijah all nearby, as he stands in his radiant attire, stealing glances towards Avery here and there.
"So, Mr. Everhart, when did you arrive?" He offers, turning back to view Rex. "It's been some time since I've seen you last. Any interesting gossip from Berlin?" When Saoirse reenters the party, he lifts a hand to wave for her. <English>

Tabi shows up... fashionably late, of course, wearing a very pretty red dress, and matching stiletto heels. Her fingernails are painted black, with symbols of miscellanous arcane and other occult-seeming background (although they're all meaningless) artfully and beautifully drawn into the black polish in a brilliant red that matches the color of her outfit. She's even wearing matching lipstick. Having left her coat at the door, she simply saunters out onto the rooftop, pausing as she arrives to look about, perhaps to see if she recognizes any of the other attendees.

"Of course," Rex nodding once more towards Avery, turning his attention to Lydon as he speaks. "I thought I would surprise you, I know you are quite fond of them," Rex's tone carrying a hint of mischief, but overall respectful. "Tonight, actually, about an hour ago. The itinerary was well-prepared. But on the point of gossip," a smirk coming over his face. "I hear word that my /senior/," plenty of snark carried in the way he expresses that term, "Has managed to wrangle arrangements of her own as well. Though she has been regrettably," expression carrying no regret whatsoever, "delayed in her travels."

Khadijah begins to mingle with other party-goers, sizing up vessels to decide which she might partake from.

Tabi arrives, and Lydon catches sight of her, inclining his head for her politely and then turning his attention back to the conversation between Rex and Avery, arching a brow at the former. "Yes. Love surprises." He replies dryly, and then pausing. "Is she, then? Interesting. I look forward to her arrival." He provides coolly and then spying Khadijah with a wry expression. "Ms. Khadijah, would you feel more comfortable, if I feed first? To show you how safe the experience is... ?" <English>

Saoirse takes note of the others that are here. Perhaps focusing more so on some new or unfamiliar faces. She forces herself off the wall of being said wall flower. She passes by Yiska and Lilena, "Mister Bear, Miss Angelius, good evening." She winks to Lilena, "You look stunning in that gown." She then smiles to Avery, "Miss Thornton? I... I am not certain that I would have pegged you for this style in fashion. It's very becoming." She lingers near the other woman, trying to subtly (or not so much) scrutinize Rex.

Lilena is looking about introducing her self as Lilena Angelus ghoul of Mr. michealson numourous times as people may pass her and Yiska. See seems very happy to be here, at the current moment she is going around looking to greeet everyone. She sees Sao and smiles at her compliment. "Thank you, you look stunning as well. "

Nisha shows up fashionably late as well, hopefully no one would notice she was slinking around barefoot underneath her long emerald evening gown that draped on the floor. Holding a flute of champagne as a party prop, she elegantly strolled into the event without any shoes, walking carefully so her embarrassing secret wouldn't be discovered or called to attention. Black hair was done up in her recently adopted Marilyn Monroe style, with big classic curls.
She was pretty swanky for a gangrel Cinderella story.

Tabi, having caught the slight headnod offered her way by way of greeting, returns it in kind to Lydon. She makes her way towards the nearest server, from whom she acquires a flute of champagne for herself -- so as to not walk around completely empty-handed at the party. Spotting Nisha as the emerald-gowned gangrel makes her own entrance, she heads over that way and smilingly offers, "Hello, Nisha. That dress looks lovely on you", by way of greeting.

Avery falls silent, brow arching with a touch of amusement in her eyes at the mention of surprises. Her lips press together to perhaps keep from adding her own thoughts on that to the mix and as Saoirse approaches, she looks over at the Irish Tremere with a small smile at the compliment. "Thank you, Miss Dunbar. I'll admit that it /is/ a different look for me, and one I need to get used to but..." she gestures towards Rex. "Miss Dunbar, meet Mr. Everhart, recently arrived back in Los Angeles and also of our clan." she leaves the introduction at that, allowing the two to further expand upon them themselves.

Khadijah smirks at Lydon in somehow a quite alluring way. "Mister Vogel, I would very much appreciate that. And I will enjoy watching every moment of every sip you take." She laughs sweetly, leaving him wondering if she's serious or just having a little fun. "Please tell me though, how do you know who has partaken of what?" She wonders curiously.

Yiska isn't as singular as some Gangreal may be, or lending to that animalistic nature, There is a refinement about the Native American. It is those eyes where that changes, calculating, now and again they slit like a cat when focusing on one thing or another. Caught in an off light they give off a faint yellow reflection. So far it seems to be a very happening party for what it is, free to be himself more than at other affairs as Lydon had so eloquently put, that everything would be handled. He draws Lilena over to the main crowd, "Good to meet you all. Some again, others for the first time."

Smirking towards Khadijah, Lydon inclines his head for her and scans the crowd for a moment, finding a mortal of interest to him; A woman in a skimpy black dress, and approaches, daintly lifting her chin and drawing the woman erect from her otherwise lethargic and sluggish demeanor. "For your viewing pleasure, then." He informs Khad, and then the vampiric fangs reveal themselves beneath his lips as he bends and sinks them into the woman who moans out. All the while, he makes coy eye contact as he drinks, then he withdraws and licks the wound away. An escort of Schultz' retainers arrive to escort the drowsy woman to a side seat; Out of the way for the rest of the evening. Meanwhile, there is a pause in the Tremere. His cold, icy demeanor cracks like shattering frost, lips curling into a warm smile and his demeanor reflects that of a buzzed mortal. "There we are..." He coos wistfully, slowly. <English>

"She certainly..." Rex letting his words trail off about the unknown woman. He does his best to mask a conflicted sort of look with a more professional demeanor, instead turning back towards Avery and now Saoirse. The smile's back. Another dip of his head, "Yes, and well glad to be. Berlin is..." looking over at Lydon for a moment, a mild interest in the partaking of festivities, "Well, I am told things are much more exciting here. And I am honored by Mister Vogel's request for me to return." To Saoirse, "A pleasure, I look forward to our future..." And then, his gaze can't help but drift aside back to Lydon. Brows raised, and a bit of teeth to his grin now.

"Oh, look at you my dear! Ravishing. Come closer, I must get a better look ...", offering her left hand to Tabi and inching towards the woman, Nisha have a closed mouth smile. "Hmmm. I love it!", happily expressing, before looking around and spotting familiar faces and new. A finger wave to Yiska and his arm candy Lilena, to be polite. Then a small curtesy to Saoirse, Avery and Lydon from a distance.
She would probably make the rounds and say hello to everyone, but one person at a time. "How are you this evening, Tabi? All is well with you and your sister?"

Lilena waves to nisha even though she doesn't know her and for the moment she just looks on and sips from her wine glass taking in the scenary of the party and taking note of the new faces.

"Oh, yes. All is well. The work on the club is still progressing, although I'll admit that it's taking a bit longer than I'd hoped it would, the work being done is of the quality I expect for the amount of money it costs", Tabi says in reply to Nisha's question. "I'd hoped Winter would be able to join me here, tonight, but... sadly, she had other commitments."

Rex does get a proper smile and courtly curtsey from the Ginger from Ireland. Saoirse greets the man, "Miss Saoirse Dunbar of Galway." Yes, it's pronounced SUR-shah. However, with Lydon taking the first bite of the evening, Saoirse can't help but look over in that direction. It's not so much Lydon that gets her attention, though. In this particular case, it's Khad's and her reaction, or perhaps curious on how the scene unfolds. She does offer as an aside, perhaps a bit of color commentary with her Irish lilt, "Adventure has a way of finding itself in the City of Angels, that is for certain."

"Well, you can't rush quality. I think you have time to spare for this grand opening. Of course I'll be there to support you and please send my best regards to your sister.", Nisha says to Tabi. The woman in green then leans in and whispers something into Tabi's ear, while eyeing the crowd.

Suddenly at the very edge of the rough top the behemoth beast, Clarence, appears leaning against a wall with a yellow coned party hat sitting atop his reptilian and knobby head. The beast pushes it's massive form off from it now, and slowly begins to stalk toward the crowd with yellowish green glowing eyes giving a look over the crowd slowly.

After his feeding, Lydon certainly seems more relaxed, as though a weight has been lifted from his shoulders. His lips are curled wistfully and his motions are slowed slightly. Certianly, he's not nearly as sluggish as the woman he fed from, but he is more calmed. Pleasant, it seems, and he turns his attention briefly back to the Tremere nearby. "Such a wonderful night..." He offers warmly, and as Clarence arrives, his lips curl more and he lifts a hand from his pocket, waving. "Croc, welcome!" <English>

As Lilena acknowledges Nisha, Yiska does as well, "And this little scrapper of a party girl is Nisha. She is of my clan." The new arrival of clearance has the Gangreal looking the man over. Lydon giving him a warm welcome, Turning back to introducing nisha to Lilena, "This is Primogen Max's, Ghoul. Lilena Angelius. You both should know each other. Your propensity for partying and her own is quite surprising. You may find you enjoy going out now and again to the party scene."

Tabi leans in a little, as Nisha whispers to her, then shrugs a bit as she says, "I honestly do not know." She looks about a wee bit more. "Who else do you know, here? Some faces are familiar, but I doubt I've actually met most of the others I see, here", she adds, quietly to Nisha, as she gestures about with the glass in her hand.

Avery's gaze slowly drifts from Rex and Saoirse towards where Khadijah and Lydon are, heading tilting slightly to one side as she watches the German Tremere take the first 'sip' of the evening. The change in his demeanor as the effects take hold draws a bit of a smile and she shakes her head. "I definitely might need to take a taste before heading this evening," she murmurs, glancing around then towards the other guests.

Lilena smiles warmly at Nisha as they are introduced and offers Nisha her hand in greeting. "Nice to meet you." Yeah it is true she loves to party alot.. so he isn't wrong there.

As if on cue, the mention of adventure comes as Rex's head tilting towards the latest arrival that Lydon greets. "You don't say," pulling his eyes from the yellow party hat--of course--back towards Avery and Saoirse. "Definitely, if that's what's on offer," a quick glance back at Lydon. "Well, if you two don't mind, I think I'll take him up on that offer. It's been a long set of nights getting here, I'm sure you understand." With a polite half-bow, hand at his chest, "'til next we meet," Rex steps aside, taking a look at what sort of 'refreshments are on offer'.

Saoirse tilts her head to one side, "There is plenty to go around, Miss Thornton. It's an entire cask, which I'm certain will last more than this evening." She smiles to the other woman, but then turns her attention back to the exchange with Lydon and Khad. She does comment to the people within her immediate area, "Though, I will pass on partaking from a mortal." She looks down to herself, "Besides, I'm wearing white." To Rex, she nods her head, "Enjoy the refreshments. It is an euphoric experience for those wishing to recall their mortal existance."

Nisha uses Tabi like arm candy, "Your now my date and I will introduce you to the many people I know.", reaching out to shake Lilena's hand. The Asian woman was warm and flush, "Nice to meet you, Lilena. I hope we can be fast friends, I do like a party. This gorgeous doll accompanying me is Tabi. Clan of the Rose.", nodding to Yiska.
"Tabi, this is Yiska Ghost-Bear my elder. He's teaching me about the Camarilla. I still have a lot to learn.", looking to the couple. "Happy New Years! How are you tonight?"

The wide maw of Clarence's cracks into a smile at Lydon, and he nods the thick, scaly head at him, "Well, I could certainly use a bit of a....pick me up after earlier events." The behemoth rasps out, those glowing eyes now angling towards the potential victims as a large tongue slips from his lips and looks over the long, sharp and razor sharp teeth that are perpetually exposed.

Schultz has been dealing with things at the party - giving instructions to the band now and then, delegating various party tasks to his bodyguard Jerome, who is circulating in a white jacket tuxedo with black trousers - classic "help" attire. Schultz however soon frees himself from the minutiae he was dealing with, and makes his way to Lydon and Khadijah. He stops short of clasping the former on the back, however, and just offers a smile. "Everything going all right?" he asks, before glancing over toward Khadijah. "I see you've met the always-lovely Miss Khalid, my clanmate." He offers a smile and a nod to Khadijah. "Evening... so glad you could join us, my dear."

Now introduced to Tabi, Yiska nods to her, "It is a pleasure to meet you. Seems you are with good company. Nisha is someone I trust with many things. She has been... Helpful as much as I have been to her." This so some praise he doesn't often give out, but genuine and with a smile on his face even as he says it. The Older Gangreal seeming to be enjoying the festivities and the company.

Tabi nods to Lilena and Yiska, in turn, as she's introduced to them... even sketching a little curtsey as Yiska's introduced as Nisha's elder. "A pleasure to meet you both", she says to them. She then extends the hand she's not holding a champagne glass in, palm down -- mostly towards Lilena. "Do look at the wonderful artistry Nisha was so gracious as to create on my fingernails!", she says.

Khadijah gives Lydon a deliciously smirky smile. "Just like that then, hmm?" She notes as he gives her a bit of a tutorial. "I have some rather strict feeding rules so I'm not sure if I should, let me consider. But... how do you know who has had what? Have they not all partaken of different substances?" Maybe she has completely misunderstood the concept of the evening. Just then she notices Schultz is here. "Mister Schultz!" She offers him a slow, tiny-but-respectful little curtsey as well. "So nice to see you again."

"Of course. Enjoy, Mr. Everhart." Avery offers Rex a parting smile before the Tremere makes his leave to partake of the 'refreshments'. The smile remains as she looks back to Saoirse. "I'm glad you decided to come tonight. I wasn't entirely sure that you would."

Lilena takes Nisha's warm and flush hand and smiles and nods. "Oh, we can be fast freinds indeed. I am always looking for more freinds. I lost my party partner a bit ago and still wondered where she went. I miss her we use to have loads of fun together. " Of course she would miss her friend they became besties pretty quickly. Though she smiles back at her still holding onto Yiska's arm. "Happy new years to you as well.. " Soon her attention is distracted by the lovely nails. "Oooo pretty. Nisha you did very good job on her nails have you ever thought about working in a spa doing nails? "

For Schultz' benefit, Lydon seems to be in a much warmer demeanor than he might normally be seen, not to mention the lustful attractiveness that he seems to adorn himself with at Court. He smiles softly at the Ventrue, inclining his head towards his companion. "Schultz..." He offers casually, both hands stuffed into his pockets as he speaks somewhat more slowly. Clearly, he's under the effects of the ritual, looking to be somewhat buzzed and calmed. "Yes..." He offers for Khad, and then he shakes his head lightly for her. "No, aside from the band, all of the mortals have partaken of the same wine. Wine that I ritually prepared. If you can find someone to fit your needs, I encourage you to search."
"Or, if you can endure feeding on something outside of your dietary restrictions... I encourage you to do so. You'll still experience the effects of the time travel." He offers with a coy wink. "Or, refrain. I won't be offended if you do." He promises, then nods at Schultz. "Wonderfully." He assures. <English>

"Marvellous," Schultz answers to Lydon, sporting a wide grin. He looks over to Khadijah and offers a small, stately bow in response to her courtsey. "Looking radiant as ever," he purrs in his honied tones. "You heighten our event with your attendance. Lydon, did you know, our friend here recently arrived from the mid-east? Oh, the exotic tales she could tell, I'm sure. I should sit you down, Miss Khalid, and put my script-writing hat on. I'm sure you've got a treasure trove in your mind." He waves airily, "But... yes, please, if you care to try the ritual's effects, I got a diverse selection of kine to feed from." And indeed he has. Dozens of humans, of all sorts of ages, ethnicities, and walks of life, all beautified and presented as a smorgasbord for the kindred present.

The Korean blushes, "Yeah, I've actually worked at a few nail salons before. Manicure, pedicure, some places even do massages.", nodding briefly. "I have my own portable nail kit and everything. It can be fun...", Nisha offers politely to Lilena. "... do you have a spa?"
"I heard there will be a court coming up soon. Lots of new people, so probably a lengthy session. Many introductions to get through, besides what business they might have. Is seating by clan or that's just what people naturally do?", still trying to figure out the basics. Poor Nisha.

Saoirse decides that she needs to distance herself from some of the blood splatter that could potentially be going on. She chose to wear white. Silly girl. She heads over to the deck, so that she can look out over the city. She leans against the railing, enjoying the evening air and just watching the lights of the city.

"Speaking of new faces..." Lydon tells Schultz absently, in his wistful demeanor, he turns and gestures for Rex. "Please... I should introduce you to my Childer, from the Berlin Chantry." He offers comfortably, lifting a hand to beckon for the Tremere. "Rex, come." He coos softly, and then he spies Avery again, staring at her wistfully, both hands stuffed into his pockets as he observes her. <English>

Lilena smiles at Nisha with a bright smile. "Yes, I currently own under the mirror. Though there is talk about relocating it nothing set in stone yet though as for moving and I am looking for more staff. I need someone that can do nails and massages as well. I could use someone with your skills. " she of course didn't come prepared with a buisness card. So she takes out her phone. "Can I get your number and I'll give you a text so we can meet up at a later date to talk more about my spa and maybe you working there. "

With no attention on Clarence he continues to study the suited-up blood bags, glowing eyes looking over them slowly as if deciding which to choose. Then suddenly the beast reaches out with one large, bandaged hand that drips with a slimy substance and grips a lethargic man up. With ease the creature lifts him up to the air and brings him close to his face. Clarence sniffs for several moments, taking in the potential prey's scent before a lengthy tongue flows out and licks across the man's cheek. It leans back and looks for some sort of reaction from the man in its grasp.

"I think there -is- Court scheduled soon... end of the coming week, I believe", Tabi says, with regards to upcoming events. She quiets as Lilena brings up the possibility of a job for Nisha, and looks over to Yiska, her eyes looking at his clothing. "Is that real leather?", she then asks of him, gesturing towards him with the hand holding the champagne glass -- from which she's yet to even take a sip.

Rex seems content to drift between the dozens of humans that Schultz is offering, though his attention does seem to be focused more on the other guests present. And, ever so often, his gaze drifts back to Clarence and his particular method of pre-feeding. It doesn't take too much to understand the look, to Croc and the others, is one of curiousity. A more fledgling nature betrayed despite his independence. Of course, his attention is brought to, as he hears his name called. Weaving between the refreshments, "Yes, Herr Vogel?" brings back his respectful demeanor, and looks to Schultz with a smile. "Ah, an air I recognize," offering his hand forward to him. "Alexander Everhart, a pleasure, sir."

Yiska offers his attention to Tabi for the moment, Nisha and Lilena talking a bit of shop. It would be good for both of them to get to know each other. To Tabi, "Yes, real leather in fact. This faux leather and imitation stuff I've seen lately... Doesn't feel right for me." Real lathers, high quality ones and even a bit aged, they are incredibly maintained.

As Croc selects his target, some slow attention drifts towards the Nosferatu and Lydon smiles encouragingly towards him. "You'll love it, I assure you." He offers softly, inclining his head towards the Kindred. "And if you don't, you can wash it from your system easily enough."
Though as Rex approaches, he turns and gestures for Schultz. "This is Mr. Schultz, one of my closest friends in LA, outside of the Chantry." He offers calmly. <English>

Nisha only has so many hands, having to put down her champagne flute and let go of Tabi. That way she could pull a cellphone from her cleavage, because why would dress designers give women pockets? She then exchanges numbers with Lilena, "No guarantees, because I might have other job opportunities at the moment. But we can certainly discuss hours or nights, maybe a part time or a pick up shift. My life is kind of ... living off the cuff so to speak.", being honest with Lilena but showing interest and being polite.
Once done, Nisha rejoins Tabi and smiles to her. "Have you met....", staring at Clarence for a moment as he licks a strangers face. Forgetting what she was about to say.

Schultz offers a heel click and a slight bow of his head to Rex - a harkening to older German aristocracy, even if Schultz was never a member. "Mister Everhart," Schultz echoes by way of greeting. "A pleasure to meet you. My friend Lydon never mentioned that he had a childe." A sidelong look at Lydon is given, playfully reproachful - but only in gest, before he adds, "Welcome. And may I present my clanmate, Khadijah Khalid? Miss Khalid, Mister Everhart." He lifts onto the balls of his feet and squinting to peer past those directly before him. At Clarence, perhaps ... or, no. Lowering his volume, he murmurs softly to Lydon, "Is Miss Yoon now a member of the Camarilla?" he inquires mildly.

Lilena smiles at Nisha and can understand that life can be hetic at times. Though she likes that Nisha is showing intrest even with all of that. "Yeah, sure we can talk about all of that. I understand how life can be hetic trust me. " She lets Nisha talk to Tabi now and then she leans in close to Yiska and whispers something to him.. as her phone seems to be going off with texts messages.

"Soon. She's making arrangements. But... You know how the Gangrel are. You don't deny one, and expect the others to be... Understanding." Lydon offers calmly for Schultz with a light shrug, peeking between Nisha and Yiska, his voice low enough to make that comment just to the Ventrue. Though, he grins at the conversation between Schultz and Rex. "Yes. Well. I have a couple." He offers softly. "As I understand, you'll meet another, soon..." <English>

Watching as Saoirse heads over to the deck in order to enjoy the view, Avery pivots and starts her own perusal of some of the kine, taking her time as she moves a considering gaze over them.

Lilena adds that she looks down at her phone and frowns. "Sorry It seems I am being called away. It was nice meeting you both. I look forwards to our meeting Nisha. "

Tabi has definitely noticed Clarence as well, but seems to just not be paying him any attention. "Have I met whom?", she asks of Nisha, when the asian woman lets her voice trail off.

The whispering catch his attention, leaning in to hear what Lilena is trying to tell him, he nods, "If he has sent a cab for you and its waiting, then it must be important." Yiska turns to the party, "A moment while I escort Ms. Angelus to a cab waiting for her outside. " He would walk Lilena out to the cab and return shortly. A kiss to her cheek, one returned as she drives off.

CHOMP! Suddenly those massive jaws unhinge, and the man lifted in the air has his entire upper arm engulfed in the jaws of the beast. Thankfully the man is sedated as Clarence jerks his head back and forth while the set of razor-sharp fangs dig in deep. For several moments the beast simply holds and drains the man within its grasp and blood flows down it's cheek and across the grey robes.

"Hmm?", Nisha snaps back to reality and looks from Croc and then the group of Tremere and Venture. "... oh, have you met our hosts for the evening. Let's go be polite and say hello.", watching Croc feed, Saoirse was wise to walk away.

Tabi nods, and gestures, as if to say 'lead the way' to Nisha, with her free hand.

Schultz glances aside toward Lydon, lips drawing together slightly so that he can 'hmmm' softly, but not disapprovingly. "Well, let it never say that I'm a stickler for rules, even my own," he notes softly. But then he glances down at his watch. "My... just a few minutes to go. I'd best select a morsel, if I'm going to ring in the new year as an old one, hm?" he muses.

Rex only offers a smile, looking back to Lydon for a moment. But, at his words, he nods, "I am a... recent acquaintance of Mister Vogel, but, a relationship that has become quite welcome." Looking back up, "Though I can't quite claim that I am a proper German, having been born here in LA. Still, I enjoyed my time in Berlin." He then turns his attention to Khadijah again, and there's a little grin. "A more proper introduction then this time, Miss Khalid," lowering his head just a touch, offering his hand her way instead. He's used to the German non-handshake-types. "I wasn't expecting it to be this popular tonight."

The sheriff arrives, fashionably late, wearing one of his countless nigh-identical pinstripe charcoal suits. Alternately, people get nods, waves or quarter shoulder-deep bows as their station affords. He seems disinclined to feed on any of the provided guests, and pointedly doesn't notice anyone else feeding, finding the feeding of other vampires distasteful. "I am a first generation Spanish American, Rex. So I can empathise with not feeling like a 'proper' European, certainly not like a 'proper' American, truly the only 'proper' thing I have ever really felt is Tremere," he injects himself into the conversation as close to seamlessly as he can.

See, this is why Saoirse chose to be AWAY from where the drunk mortals are just lounging about or whatever. Good goodness... the Croc devours the man like he's nothing. Her eyes flicker from the Croc Nosferatu to Schultz and Lydon. She clucks her tongue, and then looks back out over the city. "I hope family members of that man don't file a missing person's report." She sighs quietly, "I should probably excuse myself."

Meanwhile, when Alejandro arrives, Lydon is clearly already buzzed, engaging the evening with a wistful, warm expression that is unusual for him. His normal, cold demeanor is lost, giving way for a more pleasant and friendly expression. "Sheriff Lopez..." He greets calmly, slowly. There is a glance for Saoirse, though perhaps not quite hearing her commentary, and then a glance for Clarence, with a patient smile etching onto his lips. Another glance is turned to Avery, and he starts to wander off in her direction. "Miss Thornton... Are you quiet alright?" <English>

Nisha thumbs to certain individuals, "The beauty in white is Saoirse, apparently she's leaving. But she's nice, just take her to an Irish Pub to be fast friends.", taking a step away from Croc. "The giant reptilian man is Clarence. Sometimes he goes by Croc, clan Nosferatu. Our newest entrant is none other than Sheriff Alejandro Lopez, he's been tolerant of me so far. That's a plus.", but walking Tabi closer to the hosts. "Mr. Vogel and Mr. Schultz, this is Tabi. From clan of the Rose.", trying her best to play this etiquette game. Yet, Nisha was obviously struggling with it.

"Much to my grandfather's disdain, as I was often reminded" Rex grinning his sympathy with the new arrival, but on Lydon's mention, Rex's demeanor shifts back to a more professional look. His neck getting a workout as he bows his head on recognition of the name introduced. "An honor. I am Alexander Everhart. Herr Vogel's childe from Berlin." Thankfully, the greeting has caught Rex's attention enough to not notice the... feeding.

After a few moments of sucking the beast unhinges it jaws from the arm of the man, and licks the wound close. For once Clarence is kind of smiling. Well as much of a smile as that sharp toothed grin can give. "He won't die, dear." The beast calls out towards Saoirse raising his free hand and raising a long index finger up to wave her over, "Come enjoy what our hosts have provided." The reptile man says with a bit of haze in his glowing feral eyes while gently setting the man back down. He will heal, but his suit certainly won't.

It is then that Clarence hears his name and he quickly looks to Nisha, bowing his head to her and her companions, "Pleasure to meet ya."

Schultz turns toward Nisha and Tabi and offers them a smile. "My dear Miss Yoon, what a pleasant surprise it was when I glimpsed you from across the way," the Ventrue host purrs. He extends a hand. "Tabi, nice to meet you," he assures the Toreador before turning back to Nisha. "Are you going to sample the ritual on offer?" he asks her.

Avery seems to have finally set her sights on one of the more handsome looking 'refreshments' and is starting towards him when she hears her name spoken by the familiar voice of the German Tremere. Pausing, she turns to look at Lydon, taking a moment to consider the question being asked. "I'm quite alright, Mr. Vogel.. thank you. It's good to see you enjoying yourself tonight."

Saoirse smiles warmly to Clarance, especially with the reassurance that the man won't die. He's a croc, so it looks more vicious than what it actually is. She shakes her head to him, preferring to stay by the balcony and the railing overlooking the city. "No, thank you. I do not wish to feel the pains of being mortal." She looks back to the city. She says thoughtful and reflective, "I have come to accept that I'm a monster, and will never be who I once was. And reliving someone who no longer exists would only torment me more than what I feel now." She looks back to Clarence, "But enjoy the 'wine', it is meant to be indulged by those looking to feast like in the days of old with maenids and satyrs."

Alejandro waves with two fingers to Lydon "Master Vogel, the best of the new year to you." He nods to Rex again, "I assume appropriate quarters have been made for you at the Chantry and that they are to your satisfaction, we can undertake your formal induction in the new year... but you'll all forgive me I hope, I am ever the official and this is a party." He pauses and smiles at Saoirse's response. "I, for one, agree. I know that there are some who long for the tactile experiences that mortal life allows, but I have always found that the memory tastes better. Though I don't think that people ever actually feasted with maenids or satyrs. I have always taken those stories to be akin to the stories of those who walked with angels or with the fairies. The primitive views of preenlightenment societies."

Spying the mortal Avery has selected, Lydon smiles at her comfortably, warmly as he gestures for him. "Quite a handsome fellow." He tells her softly, returning the hand to his pocket and then turning to considering Alejandro and Rex again. "Mr. Everhart is beyond his years in his study." He informs the Sheriff, then he smiles softly before turning to view Avery again. "Enjoying myself quite a bit." He assures softly. <English>

Nisha eyes Mr. Schultz carefully and also listens to what Saoirse has to say, "I would /love/ to indulge in a specimen, because I have not tried this activity before. I feel honored to even be asked...", yet she shakes her head no.
"... unfortunately, these damned teeth bring no pleasure and only pain. They kick and they struggle while I feed. It is not something I'd feel comfortable displaying in front of our present company. A work around, is to maybe drain some into a cup for me ... or if you forgive the terminology... perhaps snowball some vitae in a shared kiss?", totally using pornographic terminology in front of classy kindred.

Clarence wipes the rest of the blood from his lips with the sleeve of his robe, "It is okay to accept what we have become, but it is also okay to remember what we were before." The beast grumbles, twisting its head and cracking its neck several times before it begins trotting over towards Saoirse now. Some might notice that the bandaged feet leave behind a trail of slime on the concrete floor as it stalks forward, "I for one still enjoy many of things I did as a young, handsome man. I still take weekly dips in the pools of Runyon Canyon where I swam almost daily as tiny little boy." He says this while placing his hand down and holding it about three and a half feet from the ground.

Saoirse can't help but look at Alejandro with a curious look, "Perhaps they are fairy tales, folk tales meant to astound and draw ..." She shrugs, "... imagination." She tilts her head, "But do we not come from an Order of Hermetics, drawing upon the magical algorithms and formulae that defy 'Scientific' explanation? Why not believe in maenids and satyrs as one indulges in the vine? Getting drunk and having well tailored excuses for debauchery... whether that's being intoxicated or worshipping a half-man, half-goat elderly man that encourages carnal desires through one means or another?"

"So far the itinerary for my arrival has been iron-clad, as I have come to expect of the organization." Rex inclining his head to Alejandro. "And of course," the man indicating he plans to return to the pleasures of the party shortly himself. "Do not let me keep you, thank you for your time." At the bit of praise from his Sire, Rex can't help but let a cocky smile trace across his face. Now then, about those refreshments, having seen to the formalities, and the little group he was with starting to disperse.

"It's unlikely any will... Kick and scream." Lydon assures Nisha softly, the smile etched on his lips as he considers her and then he shrugs lightly. "I could bite, and then let you do the rest..." He tells her and then pauses, arching a brow. "Only the Giovanni cause pain when feeding, normally... Strange impediment, that..." He offers and shrugs.
Then he smiles warmly for Clarence and nods lightly. "I agree." He coos softly. "We all know we are already dead." <English>

SChultz glances over as Lydon disengages from this group to go and speak to Avery, with Alejandro likewise refocusing to address her and Saoirse. Schultz is left with Rex, Nisha and the now-silent Tabi. Nisha's suggestion earns a waggle of his brows, before he grins broadly. "I assure you, my dear, these mortals are under the effects of the kiss for the night. I expect they wouldn't feel anything, or react any more than they did in the grasp of our Nosferatu friend." He lifts a hand toward Clarence in gesture, then toward the insensate man he fed from, in a heap where re-deposited by the Nosferatu. Schultz offers, "It's just a few moments before midnight, we'd best select some vessels. Mister Everhart, will you partake?"

Saoirse then turns to Clarence, especially as he shares his tale from his childhood. She smiles softly, "I bet you enjoyed those times, being a child and not having a care in the world except for where your next bit of excitement would come." She nods her head, "I certainly envy that memory, Clarence. It perhaps would be a fond memory, to retreat to a earlier time when things were different for you. I'm happy that you get to experience it again."

There is clearly a moment where the Sheriff considers something that Croc has said, some curiosity that has been piqued but that would be inappropriate to be asked about and so he doesn't. Instead he nods at Saoirse "The magic we practice is a science, it is merely one that most kine have no understanding of. The fairy tales were to provide explanation for the growing of plants, the turning of seasons, the sound of lighting and thunder. And, much as you say, the faith justifies things we would otherwise find taboo." He tilts his head at Lydon "Would it not be simpler to compel a suitable candidate to sleep, they are already predisposed to it, inebriated as they are."

"Mmhmm, he is that," Avery says quietly, glancing towards Rex and Alejandro, the latter whom she lifts a hand and gives a little finger wiggle in greeting to. Returning her gaze to Lydon, she regards the German Tremere for a moment, waiting until he's finished speaking to lean him to say something even more quietly to him for a moment.

To Schultz, there's a smile from Rex, "I shall, my thanks to you and Mister Vogel. My memories are still fresh, and I'd sooner do with forgetting the uncomfortable journey here," as he finds himself a suitable offering to his tastes. "Quite a way to ring in a new year, indeed..." half to himself, half to the one in front of him. Of course, there's the glance back at Clarence. A moment to ponder the logistics of that bite, but not much longer than that, as he looks to bite his own.

Finally Clarence stops in front of Saoirse. The massive, blood-soaked arms come to cross upon his chest and the long tongue slips from his lips to gather anymore of the lifeblood that might be left on his face, "Tonight you don't have to envy it. You can indulge in it." He twists the knobby head towards the vessels that are seated in a sedated state, "But I still live an almost carefree life that I did before. Perhaps even more so now that I do not have any relatives alive to look after anymore. To hide from." The beast growls. He hears the chime that it is almost midnight, and he perks his head up again and offers out a slimy, bandaged hand towards the red head, "It is new year. A time to live a little. Come and partake. Enjoy yourself and then sing us a song."

Listening to the whispered words, Lydon pauses softly, peeking towards Avery and then nodding softly for Avery. "Could be..." He murmurs quietly for her and then he peeks towards Clarence and Saoirse, observing their conversation quietly and stuffing his hands into his pockets again.
Though he steals a glance for Sheriff Lopez and nods an agreement, speaking up some. "That could work, yes." He decides. "Whichever makes her feel more comfortable, I imagine." He adds, glancing at Nisha. <English>

Nisha gets a little bit shy and backs on out, "Thank you, but it's ok. We are all monsters in some way. Struggling with ourselves.", letting them have their feeding fun as she timidly walks away with Tabi in arm, off to go look at the skyline and check out city scape. Looking for a cigarette to go bum. Feeling a freak amongst others.

Alejandro tilts his head at Clarence. "Come now Croc, she has said no, let us respect the lady's wishes. It is a much better way to cajole a song out of her," if there is rebuke in his voice, it is the slightest of rebuke, more a profound sense of protectiveness for his Clanmate. His gaze then settles upon Nisha "Though, much as I expect my Clanmate's refusal to be respected, if your position is that you do not wish to partake, nobody will pressure you."

Saoirse smiles to the Sheriff and nods, "Perhaps, I just choose to indulge in the more creative story telling of those tales, as if there is something more than formulae, mantras, and designed procedures. I guess I like to think that when I call upon a sapling to grow into a tree that I'm drawing forth the same energies the Fae would use in those tales of legend. That one day I will be able to gaze into Tir na nOg and experience a world of wonder." She winks, "Forgive my poetic view on our Magicks, Sheriff." To Clarence, she shakes her head. "I appreciate your efforts, Clarence. This is a party, and you should enjoy it. Everyone should." She shrugs, "I'm enjoying the camaraderie and the social togetherness." She reaches out once more to touch Clarence's slimy cheek. "I just fear that the memories that surface will be of someone who I don't know, and it will tear at my heart wanting to know more of who she will become but never meet her."

Schultz, with an eye to the time - shown on a large clock beside the stage - excuses himself to go and find a mortal to drink from. He selects a beautiful, youthful blonde in a shimmering red dress, sitting next to her at a couch, leaning over her, and then drinking - just a bit. Just enough for the ritual, not to even sate himself.

He pulls a handherchief to dab at his lips before - just a minute before midnight, he makes his way to the stage, before hopping up with energy. Speaking into the mic there, he asks, "Miss Dunbar, care to join me for a duet of Auld Lang Syne?" He even lifts a hand to beckon to her.

Stepping away from him, Avery wrinkles her nose slightly at Lydon's response, then turns to cross towards the mortal she'd been eyeing. There's but a moment's hesitation on her part before she leans in to drink, taking only as much as she needs in order to feel the effects of the ritual and taking care afterwards to ensure no trace of the feeding is left to be seen on the man.

"It's alright, Croc..." Lydon assures the Nosferatu, inclining his head politely towards him and then peeking back towards Alejandro, Rex and then trailing his gaze towards Rex as well. And finally, he turns to view Avery as she feeds, watching her thoughtfully. As Schultz arrives on the stage, he smiles and watches after him, stealing a glance for Saoirse to see if she'll accept the invitation. <English>

The touch to beast's cheek draws a rare moment as he leans into it and gives a happy little grumble. He eventually pulls away and nods his head towards Alejandro, "My apologies, Sheriff. I am merely trying to help her have a good time. I wasn't trying to force it. I promise." Clarence slinks back, and bows his head towards Saoirse, "Sorry, if I overstepped. It was not intentional. We would love to hear you sing though to bring in the new year."

He steps back once more and then slowly lets his yellowish green eyed gaze sweep across the area again. A nod is given to Lydon, but he focuses upon Nisha now as she pulls away from the group, "Pardon me. I think I need to go cheer up a friend."

Alejandro smiles at Clarence "Not at all, Croc, your exuberance was not taken as pressure but as a form of proactive empathy." He then waits for the new year to be rung in before getting involved in any more convoluted converasations, though it is clear that he disagrees with Saoirse on a fundamental level. It is precisely the same look that a Roman Catholic bishop might get if a priest in his diocese were to profess a dogmatically contradicted view.

Saoirse smiles to Alejandro, "Sheriff, it is all right. I know he means well." She smiles gently and then looks to Schultz, "I am not feeling Auld Lang Syne, though I understand the sentiment." She pauses and looks to Lydon, and then back to Schultz, and then to Clarence, "But I will sing a song to welcome in the new year?" Her eyes do flicker to see who Clarence is going to help, perhaps noting the cigarette from Nisha.

Nisha is smoking alone as Tabi is aloof and takes off. The gangrel's bare feet are exposed underneath her emerald dress, a bit dirty even as she appeared classy in the nice ball gown. "Want a hit?", blowing some smoke out and offering if Croc wanted. His slimy hands might snuff the cigarette, yet she didn't care. Back to most the party.

With the clock winding to midnight, Schultz inclines his head toward Saoirse at her refusal to join him, and decides to seize the moment himself. Turning to give some direction to the band, before he will lift his voice to usher in the new year. True to form with the classical-themed New Year's party, he opts for that standardbearer song of the night. The volume is moderated - easy enough to take as background music, or a centerpiece, depending on the focus of those present.

+ROLL/+DICE> Schultz: Charisma + Performance vs. 4 -> 4 successes.

Saoirse is not about to interrupt Schultz's rendition of the song. She shows her appreciation for the song. She taps the beat that one might expect. When the song finishes, she waits an appropriate amount of time before she engages in her own melody for the new years.

~ Lay down your heard and I'll sing you a lullaby Back to the years of Loo-li, Lai-lay And I'll sing you to sleep and I'll sing you tomorrow Bless you with love for the road that you go

May you sail far to the far fields of fortune With diamonds and pearls at your head and your feet And may you need never to banish misfortune May you find kindness in all that you meet

May there always be angels to watch over you To guide you each step of the way To guard you and keep you safe from all harm Loo-li, Loo-li, Lai-lay ~

Saoirse engages in the soft melody of the song, though it's meant to be comforting and reassuring, her voice still carries a haunting aspect to it. Perhaps much like a siren that would sing to entice sailors to their deaths.

+ROLL/+DICE> Saoirse: Charisma + Performance vs. 6 -> 3 successes.

Avery takes but two steps from the mortal before she pauses to slip off her heels, dangerous things to be walking in sober let alone with a ritual-induced buzz. Holding one shoe in each hand, her attention fixes first on Schultz and his wonderful rendition of such a classic, then she slowly turns her head to looks towards Saoirse as she starts in with her own song to ring in the new year.

After trudging over to the other side of the rooftop Clarence finally comes to a pause behind Nisha, "Hey there..." He grumbles out, attempting to get her attention. The offered cigarette draws the beast to tilt his head, but he finally leans his head down, "You'll probably need to put it in there." He rasps, allowing her to do so should she choose. He does move now though to watch the New Year's song that the two begin to deliver, not wanting to seem rude after he had requested it.

Licking the wound closed, Rex gives a little pat to the woman's shoulders before she's escorted off, fainter than the others. He did take his fill, not having a chance to with cross-country(s) travel. Positively mellowed, he crosses the party, making his way back over in the direction of Lydon as the tones of the New Year begin. A rather thoughtful gaze given to the city, as memories of years not long past come back. Certainly, not his first time casting a look from the rooftops of LA. A little nod of his head towards Lydon, and a warmer smile. Happy New Year.

When the year finally ends, and 2021 begins, Lydon falls quiet to consider those gathered, sweeping his eyes around the room in reflection. Singing starts, and he steals a glance for Schultz first, and then towards Saoirse. Then he offers a glance for Avery and then towards Rex both, his lips curled contently, warmly and wistfully watching the evening. "It's been... An interesting year. Truly. So much ahead of us, as well." He offers calmly. "Together, there is much we can accomplish." <English>

Having been performing when the clock rolled over, Schultz is left separate from the party. He replaces the mic in the stand and, as Saoirse ascends to the stage a moment later, he leans in to offer a light airkiss, a glancing blow on her cheek. "Happy New Year," he offers her, before turning and hopping off the stage to give Saorise room to perform. He listens to the next song, nodding along to the beat, before offering light applause at the end of the song.

Nisha carefully tucks the cigarette in Croc's maw, turning to look back at Saoirse and Schultz sing. Stage-whispering to the Nossie, "I'm just having a rough night man. He's having fun. Probably.
