Alevtina Nikolaeva was born in Moscow in 2002, at the cusp of a time which would see great upheaval in her homeland - or greater, anyway; upheaval had been a mainstay for in Russia for decades to varying degrees. Born into this era of new upheaval and the impending dimming of any hopes for true democracy in the nation, Alevtina grew up in a fashion Americans would call 'hardscrabble.' While her family wasn't destitute, neither were they particularly well off - and there were days when the young girl would go hungry. Nonetheless, she took an immense liking to dancing, particularly ballet, and gained some prominence at a young age.
It was in her teenage years as she blossomed toward womanhood that things changed. While her family remained poor, she - being young and coming into a kind of beauty that couldn't help but attract looks and with the talent to be in rooms and among people she otherwise wouldn't - caught the eye of one of the men who had become if not royalty in Russia then something very like it. While he was the equivalent among what passed for the Russian government-cum-criminal network of a middle manager, he was more than wealthy enough to dazzle Alevtina. This led to an affair that would be heavily frowned upon in other nations, but which was all too common in Moscow: a young, pretty girl on the cusp of womanhood with an (too much) older man spoiling her and, it turned out, grooming her to present to his friends, or as a bonus to various business dealings.
It was a few years later in the midst of a show that Alevtina Awakened, the mix of dance and some remaining cocaine still in her bloodstream after the previous night's party bringing her to the mental place needed for reality to unfold and become unreality. Fortunately, another dancer understood what had happened and took the younger girl under her wing, bringing her into the Cult of Ecstasy tradition. A year later, and Alevtina has found herself in Los Angeles after the man who had been her patron was found drowned in Sochi.
