“Imagine an eye unruled by man-made laws of perspective, an eye unprejudiced by compositional logic, an eye which does not respond to the name of everything but which must know each object encountered in life through an adventure of perception. How many colors are there in a field of grass to the crawling baby unaware of 'green'? How many rainbows can light create for the untutored eye? How aware of variations in heat waves can that eye be? Imagine a world alive with incomprehensible objects and shimmering with an endless variety of movement and innumerable gradations of color. Imagine a world before the 'beginning' was the word.”

Lascaux - just Lascaux will do - claims to have been around the city for a couple of years, but it's only within the past year that he seems to have become anyone worth knowing. Originally from somewhere in the vicinity of Eastern Kentucky's Cumberland Plateau, he’s also spent time in Baton Rouge, and somewhere in Northern Africa. He can be found mainly on the Westside of the city, particularly the beaches of Santa Monica, and near Sawtelle and the Pico District though he doesn’t seem to reside in any of those places, and appears to be attached to some of the sketchier elements of the nightlife.

- Lascaux can get almost anything, for a price. There are certain parts of the city where he doesn’t go, but if you’re willing to find out what the price might be, he’s probably willing to try. He's developed a bit of a trade in the acquisition and dissemination of information, and an eerie reputation for just knowing things.
- While he gives off the air of a consummate ne’er do well, he’s also terribly curious and easily interested in many off-the-wall topics. He may look and sound like he fell out of a bin of Goodwill rejects, but he's clearly smarter than that. Psychoanalysis, astrophysics, punk rock, psychedelia, United States drug policy...the list goes on. He's often found in museums and bookstores, and even when he's in a dive bar or a dilapidated park overseeing whatever it is he does, he often has a book in hand and is willing to discourse on it. At length.
- For fans of the Southern Gothic genre, Lascaux’s upbringing, such as it was, is a rich wellspring of, decaying Appalachian coal country, broken family dynamics, and the spooky, weird, and otherwise inexplicable.
- When he first emerged onto the scene, it was ostensibly as some kind of pseudo-Autarkis loathe to get involved in politics, but he’s since aligned with the Anarchs. In the wake of the Camarilla's decimation and assimilation of the Hollywood Anarchs and the Westside Collective, he has arisen among the remaining Westside Anarchs as an influential, if shadowy figure, with a reputation for taking in the newly-fledged, unwanted, and otherwise lost. He has found a voice in recent nights, and that voice is opinionated, and often outspoken, about many assumptions and traditions which have long guided the nightlife.
- He has a posse of about two dozen or so hooligans, led by Arden, his right-hand-man, who often accompanies him around town. Eschewing the traditional boundaries dividing sects and territories, he has a tendency to pop up - sometimes quite literally - in unexpected places.
