Amuse-bouche
There’s something magical about food – or so says mythology, religion, and even literature and modern-day cinema. A golden apple started the Trojan War. The Hindu amryta found at the bottom of the ocean bestowed immortality. A single pomegranate seed bound Persephone to Hades’ side forever. Every god of the Ancient Egyptian pantheon even had a favorite food assigned to them. The list goes on and on. Dine at one of Lavinia Starr's Pop-up Supper Clubs?--maybe all those allegories will make sense.
Lavinia Starr, 'Vinny' to friends (who is nearly everyone in in close enough orbit to her vibe), was born in Santa Monica, but raised in Mexico City. Since then, she's been all over the world perfecting her art. Dublin, the UK at Tate Marie in Surrey, Paris at Le Cordon Bleu. She nested in New York City for awhile and started 'Starrlight Supper Clubs' -- exquisite and daring single-night 'Pop-up' culinary experiences. Like raves for the palate.
Now for whatever reason, she's come full circle. Back to Santa Monica. Bon appetit!
