Some of them just go home again. Some fall into a bad crowd and end up being taken advantage of. Some get into drugs to kill the pain. And then there's people like Amanda, who when it didn't work out, simply chalked it up to another failed attempt at 'odd jobs' and, rather than going back home, decided to stick around LA instead. A jack-of-all-trades, Amanda tends to fall in and out of jobs at a rapid pace, growing bored with one and moving on to the next to spice things up a bit, before potentially circling back to older ones when the feeling of novelty returns. In between jobs, she often makes money with a variety of methods: anything from scrounging, to 'magnet fishing' or metal detecting on beaches, to curbsiding and dumpster diving for saleables and scrapping. Not too proud to panhandle or busk, not too dignified to join a bikini car wash, if it seems like it might be fun to do and make a little money (or something that can work in place of money or be sold for money) then there's a high chance she'll give it a try. And even if it doesn't make a cent, if it's something she's not familiar with, she'll probably ask you to show her how it's done and try to pick it up for a laugh (or a future job). Of course, old wounds leave their mark, both physically and mentally: Amanda frequently walks with a cane, keeps a trained emotional service bird, and bears plenty of physical scars to speak of her 'street cred'. Apparently, living rough on the streets holds a lot of hard stories, though one can't ignore her love for people even after all that time and strain. RP Hooks Urban Survival: She scrounges, scrap-sells, dumpster dives, et al, as well as doing odd-jobs for cash. It means it's easy to have her be in your general area, either on or just after a job for scenes. Or who knows? Maybe you need someone to do an odd job for you! Must Love Birds:Feeds pigeons and ducks in the park for fun, has an emotional support parrot. In general she's very fond of animals in general (birds especially), and being kind to them or having one (or, you know, *being* one) is a quick way to attract attention and get on her good side. Quick Learner: Can observe a skill and begin practicing soon afterward. She often enjoys picking up new skills and potentially 'swapping' if someone wants a chance to learn something she can do. Kind Heart: While Amanda's ethics can be flexible, there are certain things that she has difficulty ignoring. Someone being injured will almost always trigger a 'help them' reaction, especially if they are lower class or an otherwise protected class of human (immigrants, women, LGBTQ, homeless, disabled, et cetera). Women RISE: Amanda helps out and strongly supports a grassroots group that offers educational support for young women and girls who may otherwise have difficulty with such things. While it's far from 24/7, it's one of the main long-term focus she has. She frequently works with the group to support their efforts from the sidelines, and strongly believes in their mission statement. Psychic Studies: Considerably less .... public than her other interests, Amanda is fascinated by psionic powers (and related Numina). She studies them under a scientific lens, and not only enjoys the chance to learn more from others who have them, but educating where possible. Sometimes people can catch her reading books about the science of psionics and related abilities, or checking out locations where people like that tend to hang out.
