Cyrus
“There's a line between gruesome violence as a wonder and a terror. I am that line."

IC Info The above is common knowledge. Note that nearly everything in Cyrus' full backstory can assumed to be discovered with enough Googling and taken IC without asking, with the only exception being any information about the typewriter. Backstory This and the gothic cultural influence of his environment led him to have a passion for horror and writing, and at 16 he published his first full length novel, ‘The Foundling', a modern-fantasy horror novel that reached national acclaim and rocketed him into a small measure of fame and success from an early age. This wasn't his first published work, that was a short story that he entered into a competition held in his High School that he won as a freshman. After being signed with a major publisher he continued to reliably produce bestselling books, hitting the New York Times list multiple times and eventually writing enough to fill a small corner library with standalone tomes as well as serialized novels. Much of his work has been adapted into movies, video games, and other forms of media, and Cyrus Thorne has become a household name. Fortunately for him like most authors he isn't particularly known for his face. Cyrus does his best to stay out of the public light, quietly enjoying his success without much social media presence. Five years ago he moved to an expensive loft apartment in Santa Monica after a vacation there. He fell in love with the pier and started a free food service close by for the local homeless and also invested a large amount of money into various street vendors and local artists to stimulate the cultural vibrancy of the area brought by buskers and others selling trinkets or hot food out of carts. His contributions to the community have caused him to be seen as something of a local hero by those who still remember his name being tied with a lot of financial investment in local community art shortly after he moved to the area and the food service he financed the founding of is still operating independently of his direction or involvement. A year ago he was invited to an antique auction where he was shown a typewriter and invited to write a passage on it, being given some story about the typewriters use by a former cult leader. He wrote a quick passage describing a mans last thoughts before his gruesome death in a car accident. A week later, after leaving that typewriter behind and believing he'd forgotten forever, he witnessed a car accident where a man died in precisely the way he had described in that written passage, down to the last letter. The thoughts he had written were of concern for what would become of a wife and two daughters, aged 7 and 12, and the obituary article that came later confirmed that this described the accident victims family as well. Since then, Cyrus has been obsessed with the incident. A lifelong skeptic, he's been researching the occult, asking questions, and trying to find any information he can about a typewriter that causes what you write to come true. Will he dig too deep?
